First-Person mod

Crspy

Don't use the current version which is a beta version ,

use this version which is older but much better and stable..... Download here

I got v.3 of mod, but there was some .dll also.

I try this version.

[edit]

Works!

Thanks!

Still "OG Loc" crash the game, but rest works correctly.

So how do i skip or pass the mission?

I need this mission in movie, so I just after game crash moved .asi file from root sa folder, start mission again from TPP and after this mission, copy back .asi.

When u do this mission don't enable FPS before the cutscene of meeting OG LOC outside the police station then after that cutscene , you can enable it and continue playing , that's it ! you include it in the movie. ( it only crashes while during that cutscene while enabling fps )

So this mod looks great and all, but have the major bugs been fixed? Because I don't know if I want to download this mod if it is going to screw up my game. If someone could tell me the current list of bugs that would be awesome.

To Crspy:

So regarding the version you linked, is it better than the beta? Because older versions will commonly have more bugs than the newer version. I am just looking to have the best experience possible with this mod without any mod conflicts. Regarding the modloader bug, is that fixed as well?

Here is a list of some CLEO mods I have installed:

- Cheat Menu V3

- Skin Selector V2.1

- WWE Fighting Moves V5.0

Here are a list of Modloader mods I have installed as well:

- Project 2DFX V3.2

- Android Gym Equipment Retexture

- Dynamic Grass V3.1

- New Birds (By Junior_Djjr)

- Fixed Maps and IPLS (By Jonny K)

- Open Limit Adjuster (By Link/2012)

- Original Vegetation Quality (By YOEL 44)

- Parachute Landing Fix (By crspo2020)

- Remastered GUI (By Ash_735)

- SAMP Graphic Restore Fix (By nonamenoname)

- Sky GFX (By The Hero)

- Sky Grad (By Wesser)

- Vehicle Fixes (By Jonny K)

- Vehicle Lights Fix (By Jonny K)

- Vertex Color Fixes (By RJ)

- GTA Widescreen Fix Remake (By Thirteen AG)

- Widescreen HOR v1.0.2 (By Wesser)

These are a list of client mods installed to make above mods work:

- CLEO 4

- Modloader
- Silent ASI Loader

- Silent Patch V 1.1

Most of the mods I have are to make the graphics look better and to have a PS2 feel to the game.

Also some more questions:

1. Can you use this FPS mod on skins, like not just being CJ.

2. Also is the widescreen HOR bug fixed, because if it isn't that will kill this mod for me.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

yes, the version i linked is much better than the beta... it has no problems with widescreen hor and it works with other skins as well and in case of head bobbing issues , look in page 17 you will see that i mentioned a way to fix the head bobbing. also FPS can never corrupt your save game in anyway. make sure you install it properly inside gta sa folder not inside modloader.

Cool thanks for the info! I also found where the known bugs are, they were on the first page :catspider:

Here is the list:

- Walk anim while swim or fly on jetpack.
- Cars with id's < 400 and > 1400 causes game crash
- Very big sensitivity while looking with sniper rifle
- Problems with shadows
- Trouble with GUI mouse when Y inversion is on
- Problems with widescreen_fix
- Vehicles and peds spawn too late
- Lods are drawn too nearly
- No gamepad support
- Right-Left pressing can do an loop rotation
- Some bugs with free-aim driveby mods
- Weapon points straight up while aiming at north
- Crashing in the mission OG Loc
- CJ's face is messed while FPV
- Camera rotates while selecting weapon in GTA V HUD by DK22Pac
- Transparent vehicles' steering wheels.
- Player walks randomly while holding phone
- Screen corners bug with FOV > 100
Are these bugs still present in your linked version? I know how to fix the crashing before the mission OG Loc. I just don't enable the first person camera before I enter the mission right? Plus I plan on just using this mod when I am driving a car, I don't plan on using it all the time when walking around. I do hope that the ped and vehicle spawning glitch is fixed with your version. If it isn't does it only happen when FPS mode is activated, or does this happen when the mod is installed? Thanks for your help and fast reply!

1.yes , but that's not really a problem. it won't affect jetpack movements

2.Nope

3.nope

4.nope

5.hmm who really play games with Y inversion ?!! anyway no problems i tested it.

6.nope

7.nope

8.nope , i use project 2dfx though.

9.yes you can't rotate the camera with the controller.

10.yes , not always though.

11.nope , driveby works flawlessly in cars ( similiar to gta v ) but in bikes when u release your finger from RMB the camera will look backward and you will have to look forward by rotating it fast. but in cars it's awesome.

12.nope , how would i play the game if weapons point straight up while aiming at north xd

13.yes it does but the solution is When u do this mission don't enable FPS before the cutscene of meeting OG LOC outside the police station then after that cutscene , you can enable it and continue playing that's it !

14. if u mean head bobbing issue , i mentioned a solution in page 17 ..... while in-game press ALT + B a menu will appear which can control the camera positioning ..... look for Near Clip slider and increase it to 0.1 ( maximum )

15. yes it does rotate but it's not really a problem ( at least to me xd )

17.i don't know i haven't use it while holding a phone really xD.

18. Yeah don't mess with the Fov. Widescreen HOR give you the best FOV settings.

number 16. does that look transparent ?

Thanks so much for your help, you went above and beyond the call of duty! Thanks again, so I just install it to the game directory? Not modloader, because I think v3.0 is not compatible with modloader. I have CLEO so it really isn't a problem, but just to make sure.

yes drop the selected files and folders inside your game directory and accept replace..... don't select vorbisfile or vorbishooked as it's outdated.

It works with no glitches, but the only problem is that I can't move the camera with my xbox controller. It will work with the mouse but not with my Xinput controller. Here is the mod that I used to enable Xinput support: http://gtaforums.com/topic/562765-ginput/

Maybe I could reprogram the Xinput controller to emulate moving the mouse with the Ginput mod.

Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter anyways. Because I was just planning to use the FPS mod for driving only. So I guess I will just park my car somewhere and adjust the camera with the mouse. But other than that this mod works perfectly! Thanks again for all of your help! If I figure out a way to configure it with the controller I'll post it here.

I figured out how to get the Xinput controller (or any controller for that matter) to work with this mod's FPS camera. It is an easy fix that I couldn't believe wasn't tried earlier. It involves using JoyToKey to emulate the mouse movement and then assigning the mouse to the right stick axis on any controller. It doesn't have to be an Xinput and it could even be a direct input controller or a PS3 controller!

Here is the site for JoyToKey: http://joytokey.net/en/

Here is a mini tutorial on how to get this working, it's easy as pie:

1. First obviously download JoyToKey from here: http://joytokey.net/en/download (Don't worry about the license key, we will fix this later. It says that it is shareware, but it is actually freeware)

Direct Official Download Link: http://joytokey.net/download/JoyToKey_en.zip

2. Next extract the .zip file anywhere, but Program Files is preferred. You don't have to worry about viruses as I have scanned this myself with Mcafee, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Super Anti-Spyware, Microsoft Security Essentials, and Windows Defender and they all found no detections.

Here is also a Virus Total Analysis of the .exe file just in case you are skeptical: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/d4c3904b7294c50bdef131321876507e20a8eaaf35e40ad7872b74c9de2eee36/analysis/

Here is also a Virus Total Analysis of the .dll file as well: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/a64ac5e601dfdc848a7b5087e63b559f080b21a5ec5d3855d1648d55d6abd53a/analysis/

3. Anyways make sure before you run JoyToKey to set its compatibility mode properties. You first want to click the button that says change settings for all users. If you don't see this button in the compatibility mode tab then you are already an administrator. After that you want to check the box that says run this program as an administrator. This is needed to let JoyToKey have the certain permissions it needs in order to activate a certain profile for your game.

4. Now remember when I said something about a license key? Well here is where we will make this shareware into freeware. Because I hate programs that are always badgering you to buy them, so this quick and easy fix to this wonderful program will have you working stress free in minutes. First go to this

and read the description, there is a tutorial there that will solve all of your problems.

5. Next here are the instructions for JoyToKey's usage straight from the readme:

USAGE
--------------------

* Press "Create" button and create a new configuration file

* In the right panel, choose a button from the list and double click
(or press enter key) to open a button assignment window.

* For example, if you want to control Internet Explorer with joysticks,
you could configure as follows:
"Back" : Alt + Left
"Close Window" : Alt + F + C
"Move To Menu" : Alt + F
And you may also want to add mouse cursor movement, wheel etc.

* If you are a new user and you have some trouble configuring JoyToKey,
please follow the instructions below.

i) I recommend you to try to use it with a simple application like
"Notepad.exe".

ii) Please configure a few joystick buttons mapping to "a", "b" keys.
And then open a Notepad and press those joystick buttons.
Character "a" and "b" should be entered in the Notepad.
(Be sure to keep the JoyToKey program running, iconized in the task
tray at the bottom of the desktop.)

iii) If it doesn't work, go to menu "Configuration -> Calibrate joystick
property" (or go to "control panel" from Windows Start menu), and
check game controller properties. Please make sure your joystick
is recognized and sticks and buttons are calibrated properly.

End of readme.

So basically just create a new profile and name it GTA San Andreas and then double click on stick 2 <--- and make sure that you are on the Joystick 1 tab.

This means that you are editing what the software does when you move the right analog stick left. Once this is selected click on the mouse tab and then drag the horizontal slider left, underneath where it says cursor movement. Drag this slider until its value is at -100.

6. Next click ok and then double click on stick 2 --->, this is the setting for when you press right on the right analog stick. Once this is selected go to the mouse tab and then drag the horizontal slider right, underneath where it says cursor movement. Drag this slider until its value is 100.

7. Then click ok and then double click on stick 2 ^, this is the setting for when you press up on the right analog stick. Once this is selected go to the mouse tab and then drag the vertical slider up, right next to where it says cursor movement. Drag this slider until its value is 100.

8. Next click ok and then double click on the final setting stick 2 V , this is the setting for when you press down on the right analog stick. Once this is selected go to the mouse tab and then drag the vertical slider down, right next to where it says cursor movement. Drag this slider until its value is -100.

9. Once you are all done setting the mouse movements for your right analog stick we must test that it worked. So first click on the setting(s) tab and then click on associate profiles with applications. Click the add button and then type in the application name GTA San Andreas. Then copy the entire path of your GTA San Andreas game directory and paste it into the Application Path + .exe filename field. Make sure to add on the gta_sa.exe name or this won't work.

In this field you should have something similar to this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\gta_sa.exe

10. Once this is done click the drop menu under associated profile and select the profile we just created. It should be named GTA San Andreas.

11. Next click ok and then finally ok again. Your settings should be saved and it should work in-game. In order to test to see if it works in-game you should be able to move your mouse cursor around with your controller at the main menu screen where it says start game. If you cannot move the mouse cursor around in the main menu then make sure that you set the compatibility settings right in Step 3, because if the JoyToKey program is not set to always run in administrator mode, this will not work.

12. If you want to test to see if your profile works a whole lot easier, just move your right analog stick and see if it moves your mouse cursor in windows. It should work without assigning the profile to an executable.

There you go! Now when you enable the FPS mod you should be able to move your camera like always. This fix also doesn't screw up the camera when you are in third person mode, because the mouse is used to move the camera in third person as well as first person. So there should be no problems when you enable this fix through JoyToKey. Also this is guaranteed to work with the Ginput mod here: http://gtaforums.com/topic/562765-ginput/

I have played with the FPS mod with the Ginput mod and have experienced no problems.

Here is an easy to follow video tutorial that covers setting the mouse settings, if you still don't know what to do with my descriptive tutorial:

That's it guys! Hope you enjoy this much needed fix to this wonderful mod and thanks to Crspy for helping me install the FPS mod! Enjoy!:panic:

okay , When u do this mission don't enable FPS before the cutscene of meeting OG LOC outside the police station then after that cutscene , you can enable it and continue playing. see ? it's not that hard ._.

Why are you being so rude to me? I only asked because the last time i tried it (june of 2016) it crashed no matter where i was on that mission, it crashed once i got on the bike with OG Loc, it crashed while we were chasing that guy on a bike and it crashed on the cut scene where we finally catch that guy on that basketball court or what ever it was. I repeated that mission like 10 times (8 times WITHOUT entering into FPS before the mission starts) before i gave up and deleted the game lol

@Crspy It's alright!

After trying to pass OG Loc mission for 8 times again, without even turning FPS on, it crashed 7 times and 3 times it crashed outside of CJ's house lol it was like the game was mocking me.. In anycase, i decided to download the Save Anywhere Mod and i finally passed the OG loc mission.. Now the next Big Smoke mission (Running Dogs) keeps crashing on me no matter what i do, it crashes right when i enter the cut scene.. I removed all my mods and it still crashes :( did anyone experience something like this?

Just so you know, the Save Anywhere Mod is very glitchy, it can corrupt your saves if you are saving when on a mission. Also there are reports that it turns all the graphics in the game a weird brownish color. I would be extremely careful using it.

You might be crashing a lot because you haven't set the game to run on one core. I have had loads of crashes with this game since I have a eight core processor. Follow this tutorial that I made: http://gtaforums.com/topic/855874-san-andreas-burglary-missions-always-freeze/

Use my tutorial and also make sure you have Silent's patch here: http://gtaforums.com/topic/669045-silentpatch/

Hopefully it will fix the crashing that you are experiencing, good luck! :cookie:

Wait...? You can save during the mission? Hmm didn't know that, it did cross my mind but i always though it would screw up something, so i avoided doing it. You confirmed that for me!

I did download the SilentPatch just yesterday and ouh my god! it went from 50-60 fps to 70-90 fps(simple FPS mod), the game is running so smooth right now plus i can ALT+F4 if it ever bugs out without having to sign out or reset my laptop. I think the game is usually set to 1 core affinity (i have an AMD Turion duo core) but i will check out this link you sent me, probably will edit this after to see if anything changed, either way thank you very much! I am also running it in XP service pack 2 compatibility, read somewhere that it causes crashes if not run with it.

I don't think having it in XP service pack 2 stops the crashing, as I have tried this as well a while back and I still had crashes. I would recommend my fix in the tutorial link since it fixed all crashes for me. But yes, DON'T save on missions, I would stay far away from the Save Anywhere Mod since it has corrupted my saves before even when I wasn't saving in a mission. The mod creator has not been helpful when users report bugs and I think the mod is dead and broken. It is up to you though if you still want to use it, as it is unstable at best.

You are very welcome!

Just out of curiosity i wanted to check out how many cores are set in affinity before changing anything and i noticed i cant alt tab out of the game, it's just a black screen, once i alt tab twice it goes back to GTA.. Could be related to SilentPatch but it doesn't matter. About the Save Anywhere Mod i got it because i was desperate lol and wanted to pass the mission, i will be deleting it, it probably already corrupted my file but ouh well. I'm still early in the game so it wont take long ^^

Edit1: Ouh well in that case it's fine, it loads in 2 seconds

Well if you have a dual core cpu it will default to the max number of cores. It will not just set it to one core by default. So yeah, you will need to go through my tutorial to fix it or there will be a possibility of a crash at anytime. I have realized that having more than one core makes the game unstable and the crashes are at random intervals. It could crash in 15 minutes or 3 hours.

You would also know if your save is corrupted because the next time you try to load the save it will be stuck on the loading menu screen or it will take a long time to load up your save.

You can try pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete and then selecting task manager. That should open task manager on top of GTA. If that doesn't work try alt tabbing out and then press Ctrl+Shift+Esc, this will open task manager up as well. In order to see affinity you need to make sure to go to processes and then press the button that says show processes from all users. Hopefully this fixes it for you.

It looks really good, but when I keep pressing "V," the game just crashes. Tested on both Windows XP and 7. How do I fix this?

Update:

I tried this:

Don't use the current version which is a beta version ,

use this version which is older but much better and stable..... Download here

But now the game crashes on the loading screen.

Your save might be damaged. Did you try loading a new game and see if it crashes on the loading screen. Also have you tried my tutorial that fixes all the crashes: http://gtaforums.com/topic/855874-san-andreas-burglary-missions-always-freeze/

Plus you must make sure you have the Silent patch in order for this game to work on modern systems: http://gtaforums.com/topic/669045-silentpatch/

Some mods also make the game crash on the loading screen. So a full list of your mods would be very helpful. Hopefully this will fix the crashing issue for you.

Thanks for the response.

Full list of mods:

ASI loader with widescreen fix

Edit: On my XP computer, there are no mods loaded.

  • I'm pretty sure my save isn't damaged because on both computers I tested it on, it was a clean install of the game from the disc. Also, I don't think my low-power laptop running XP counts as a modern system.
  • I installed the Silent patch, and it still crashes with the mod when I press V multiple times.

Updates:

  • Just as a test, I found the "data" folder and .exe for downgrading to version 1.0 of the game, just to make sure I have it. I'm still crashing on pressing V multiple times.
  • When starting a new game, it either crashes as soon as it's done loading, or as soon as I start pressing V after the cutsene.
  • As another test, I reinstalled the Silent ASI Loader. Still getting crashes.

I really want to use this mod, I hope I can get it working soon.

The only thing I can think of is that you don't have the Game set to run as administrator. This can cause the Game to crash, so set it to always run as administrator in the compatibility settings of the main executable. I have never heard of the Game crashing when starting a new game.

Maybe try removing the mod and see if it crashes then. Also if you use modloader the FPS mod is not compatible with modloader, so just install it in your main game directory folder. Hopefully this fixes the crashes for you, since I am all out of ideas.

The game works fine when the mod isn't there, and I don't use modloader. On my XP computer, it's pretty much a completely clean install, with only the ASI loader and FPS mod installed.

I'll try running as admin, and let you know how it goes.

Update: Running as admin didn't fix the problem. Should I just start a new thread about this issue? I might get more responses that way.

Update 2: I posted a thread at http://gtaforums.com/topic/891044-fps-mod-not-working-in-sa-v10/

Due to all the issues I've been having with trying to get it to work, is there any way I can get version 2 of the mod, so I can run it with CLEO?

Update: I managed to get version 2 of the mod (it uses CLEO 4), and the game still crashes when pressing V multiple times.

I have no idea what is causing the crashing you are experiencing. It should just work. My .exe is 13.7 mb big, how big is your .exe. If you want you can PM me and I'll give you my .exe, it might fix some things. All I did to mine was downgrade it to version 1.0 so that it is fully modifiable.

Thank you very much, check your PMs. My exe is 13.7 MB, my "data" folder is 20 MB, if that matters.
