archiebunker
Maybe because it follows the in-game clock rather than realtime? Thank you, at least someone in here uses their brain. You two are just being simple minded and daft. Nobody here gives a f*ck if a storm should go by the game's time as not everything is supposed to be realistic or believable. The game's weather system is there for enjoyment, so I'd rather have a long ass storm as opposed to one that goes by the game's time to be realistic. How about you two dweebs use your brains? Awesome random hostility. GTAF, how I missed you. Yeah, so I was just offering a reason, not saying whether or not it was a great idea. Personally, I wish the in-game clock was slower so we could enjoy things like that more.
The_B1u3_Jay
Yeah i wish they lasted longer. But it seams to rain to much and thunder to little.
Gdog
Nobody can really say except for Rockstar. I f*cking sh*t myself first time I saw a thunderstorm in the game. Looks amazing. EDIT* sh*t, I didn't know RDR had storms in it! Are they rare? cause I never ever seen one (that I remember...and I would!). I think RDR's storms look better than GTA V. VIDEO: Red Dead Redemption was Rockstar last good open world game. They cared for everything. Single Player Multiplayer Story Gameplay I totally agree with you. RDR has it all. Call me crazy but I'd love to see San Diego take charge of GTA from here on out. At least the single player part. Let North focus on GTAO since that's obviously all they care about these days. North could still help out with SP since I'm pretty sure they helped out making RDR but San Diego would have the final say in everything. I think RDR is Rockstar's masterpiece. GTA V had to beat it but it couldn't and that's saying something. Not even GTA can surpass what RDR was. I love GTA V but it could be so much better. It won't happen though. GTA is North's and I seriously doubt they'll let it go to another studio. Edited May 22, 2014 by one55 BlackNoise
hvcciookay
I play almost everyday and usually my storms last about 5 to 10 minutes realtime which is long enough. Maybe 6 8 strikes each storm. I think they are fine now because if your not ready, they'll jumpscare you just like a real storm!

Totally agree on that - RDR is one of my all time favourite games. it's probably the only open world game I have played where you can feel vulnerable and isolated. Walking through the forests was eerie as hell! tom_p1980
SoftTouch
Obviously console limitations, because that's all anyone on this forum can talk about. thats just absurd duh. Find anything wrong about this game, and people tell it's a console limitation. I mean c'mon. All the thunderstorm does is render rain, lighting (most probably a picture) and a light at random times. AndyC-M
it rains far too much, R* need to sort it out, taking into consideration the type of city/county its meant to be, youd expect a hot shining summer 11 months of the year
Lock n' Stock
The weather system is sh*t in this game, it seriously needs a tweaking in the next patch. It's almost constantly raining in Los Santos. f*cks sake its a city in the desert it does not rain every other f*cking day! And OP is right, when it does do the cool thunder storm with the lightning bolts it only lasts a very short while. The weather system in this game is f*cked and needs a patch ASAP. I don't know about you, but I always like rainy atmospheres whenever it's in real-life or in a video-game. I do admit it's unrealistic though.
