As said, its bound to happen on such garbage consoles. I encountered a random storm once outside of "Friends Reunited". It's a shame they don't last long as I think they're quite epic. Easily some of the best lightning strikes I've ever seen in a game. XMarqstheSpot Posted May 21, 2014 Share Posted May 21, 2014 there are 3 different storms confirmed by the file hunt thread. they last 1, 2 and 3 hours. so if you get a short one then either wait or cycle the weather using the cheat until you get the 2 or 3 hour storm. also, Lightning Bolts won't strike if you are... let's say about 100 yards-ish above sea level. any higher and you will only see white/blue flashes in the clouds. hope this helps. Do I win five pounds? The Lighting was brought back at Update 1.08 (months ago)... OT:in my game they dont,but anyways it always Rare (Lol obviously it LS)... I didn't play from November to March and ever since March it has only been sunny or cloudy. When I did get storms, they lasted for 20 real life minutes so I don't know what is wrong with your copy of the game. Maybe you're using cheats, the weather cheat is sh*t because the rain via that cheat lasts for such a short amount of time. The weather in this game is very GTA Pre-HD-esque: not so diverse, just cut in dry overlooked bullsh*t to me. Rockstar are no longer the kings of detail/quality anymore in my eyes. It's almost constantly raining in Los Santos. f*cks sake its a city in the desert it does not rain every other f*cking day! And OP is right, when it does do the cool thunder storm with the lightning bolts it only lasts a very short while. The weather system in this game is f*cked and needs a patch ASAP. I swear i've seen more than one online that had 1 lightning strike but when playing offline, there were so many in a row I almost snapped a picture after 4. I don't have the slightest clue why this would be but my guess would be syncing up a thunder storm with more than 6 consols would create some crazy lag. The lighting is a sprite that is rendered inside of the skybox rather than the map itself, so it's not even possible to get close to it. This goes for pretty much all weather effects, although the skybox kind of "follows" you, so clouds can appear in front of objects and such.
