Dottie
Good question but this doesnt belong here because you're askin what kind of mic to get. it belongs here >>> http://gtaforums.com/forum/73-technology/ Id recommend not getting a mic that runs on AAA's. they will eat those batteries like a fat kid at an ice cream buffet Edited May 21, 2014 by Winning001
AfterDeath
Yeah get Turtle Beaches. They may cost more than bluetooth headsets but I've went through a few of those and I can honestly say they are all junk.

Aunty Fascist
If you want wired (cheapest) I'd recommend Turtle Beach PLa. My friends say my mic always sounds good, compared to others. But cheap bluetooth mics are the main reason for all the awful feedback, echo, etc. in public lobbies, so if you're going to go bluetooth splurge for a really good one. chrisscorsese88
This is the one I have, works fantastic and no feedback/echo. It's also wired, so you don't have to worry about batteries. --> http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Ear-Force-Gaming-Headset/dp/B008M4BNQ6/

Shenmue18
Are you on console or PC? For consoles, I actually prefer the PlayStation wireless bluetooth. Mainly because it's nice and light and not as bulky as a Triton or Turtlebeach, for PC I like to use my Triton headset though. For something that's lighter to wear and a good price, I recommend wireless headsets/earpieces. Edited May 21, 2014 by Shenmue18
Broblab
if you want a mic, get a cheap bluetooth. if you want a headset, get something from the x series. if you have a 360 and cant get a bluetooth. get a ps3 first.
DiegoWolfwood
Sorry, didn't know this sub forum was here! I am playing on PS3 and I defintiely want a wired one. I'll look into the turtle beach headsets, they seem liek the way to go.
chrisscorsese88
So if you're on PS3, then this one is probably the one to get--> http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Ear-Force-Gaming-Headset/dp/B008M4BNQG/
TheMcSame
Turtle Beach X12s This Cheap and decent but I've had to replace them every year or so, so I decided to get a decent headset. Generally cheap headsets are pretty poor when it comes to build quality. TB is probably the best you can get for a cheap amount of money and even then the quality is pretty poor in terms of build quality. I'd recommend a Skullcandy headset but I've never used a gaming headset from them so I wouldn't know if they are decent for the price.
Mince
My apologies for echoing the other replies, but I absolutely recommend Turtle Beach headphones. I still have a pair that I purchased in April of 2011, X11's, and has served me well both on the Xbox and recently on PC. I have replaced them with the Z11's, since the sound was starting to get fuzzy, but they still work decently. Definitely go for whatever PS3 equivalent there is. Make sure you get one that works with your TV though; some of their cheaper headsets only have headphone and mic connectors, and if your TV doesn't have a headphone jack, you might need to get a different pair (or just get a cable that splits the headphone end into two stereo RCA plugs for your TV). Doublepulse
Question, what are you going to be using it for, and what is the most you are willing to spend on a mic? Turtle beaches are good, some are cheaper than others. I personally had a neutral experience with it. Kind of a slight bad one. I went through 2 that broke in completely different ways. But don't let my opinion change your mind if you are settled with one already. They are top notch. I use a Blue Snowball iCE just because I do recordings on it. Got one $40 on Amazon. I love it. Best mic I had in awhile.
