Opinions on fair payouts for the new missions

I can stand a lot of Rockstar's crap, but having plowed through a bit more of the new missions... all I can say is: What a slap to the face.

Payout wise, they are disgusting. They require way too much effort for a small amount of cash. Think I'm whining? cool, let's put Rooftop Rumble in the same pool, and see it drop down to about...oh..what 3,000? On Hard?. Sounds good.

Anyhow, here's what I'm thinking (not the first time payout, but the consistant one):

Artificial Scarcity: $7,500-9,000
Crime Scenester: $7,500-9,000
GTA Today: Haven't played, assume underpaid.
Handle With Care: $10-12,000 Edit: 15,000 is more reasonable
Hit'Em Up: $7,500-10,000
Master Data: $7,500-9,000
On the List: $12,000

Your thoughts/opinions?

Haven't done any of them yet, What is the best one in terms of gameplay and not payment?

Hit 'Em Up is a lot like Cleaning the Cat House, with a little bit of Judging the Jury. Handle With Care is similar to Stocks and Scares, without the hacking & safecracking (plus a boat chase at the end). And Artificial Scarcity is like an alternate version of Trash Talk. I think all 3 of 'em are fun to play, but yeah, the payouts totally suck. So play 'em for the entertainment, not the reward...

Same!

All the missions suck and are underpaid.

Yeah, I think so too, from what I have seen from gamers posting on Youtube,

But I'd still want to play them to experience for myself.

So they're baisically clones of other missions but some are slightly better I'll give them a go tommorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

Played them and other than payout they were uninspired, drab and tedious with rooftop rumble pancake spawning...I'll stick with the tried and true missions.

I really like a few of the new missions, especially crime scenester. Unfortunately you are right. I used the same words with my crew after completing the new missions.

What a slap in the face.

If these missions were released in the beach bum pack I wouldn't have complained... but after waiting 6 months for new co-op missions and watching them add race after sh*tte race, deathmatch after pointless so-called "job" we get these 5 gems (which someone clearly toiled over for 6mos) and payouts that seem to be borrowed from the tutorial.

Heists had better deliver the goods (and by that I mean GTA$)

I played a wide variety during the 2x event. In all honesty double seemed to be the right amount at that time for all. Especially Simeon and Gerald payouts.

They are way too underpaid, some of them are fun but the payout ruins the mission.

had my hopes up for the new missions, we got High Life Update with Low Life mission payouts.

they are good missions though and deserve a better payout and Rank opening increase to encourage people to actually bother playing them, why would anyone create good missions and give such poor reasons to play them ?

that mission with the 2 boats at the end should pay out $15k

I agree with your suggestions on the whole.

I did On The List cause it was from my buddy Martin, and it was like he paid me in pocket lint and used band-aids. Seriously, was he just out of cash and that was all the money he could find in his couch?

How do I play the new missions? They aren't on my jobs list...and when I call my contacts, I never get any of the new ones. Am I missing something? I haven't been on a lot lately, so I was hoping someone could tell me :)

Rockstar keeps showing their greed for cash cards with every move they make. This is just another example. Don't you realize why they had bad payouts on these new missions? Because they don't want there to be a lot of fun missions that pay out really well because it takes away from their cash cards. So...they add the new missions that everyone has been wanting, but with low payouts. This is all done for a reason. Sure, Rooftop Rumble was made a tab bit harder, but they kept it the same because they know people are bored of that mission over and over. This gives players a quick money maker, but it's only one mission that gets repetitive. This pushes some people to buy cash cards out of boredom.

Some people think this is a conspiracy theory on cash cards, but it's just the truth of how coporations think. If they have a service(cash card sales), they want to do everything possible to give the community what they want, but not so much as to take away from their services. The new missons are just another example of cash card greed.

Think about it...why on earth would they add missions that are harder and 4 times more time consuming than RR but pay out horrible payouts. It doesn't make sense at all. Unless you really think about what it would do to cash card sales. If we had 20 to 30 great missions that payed out the same as RR, it would decimate the number of people buying cash cards. I personally know about 20 current players that have all told me they bought cash cards for one reason....boredom of bad missions and grinding the same missions over and over.

I agree with the OP's premise that the mission payout should be proportional to difficulty, but I think we should scale UP from Rooftop Rumble, not DOWN to the crap payouts of the new missions. So basically, leave Rooftop Rumble and Defenders and any other easy high-payout missions alone, and increase the $$and RP for all the hard and interesting missions. :p

The payout formula they use is garbage...while most mission you can do with a pistol they seem to reward multiple mission points and distance more than difficulty or party numbers....NO ONE at rockstar has yet to notice people vote on the payout....even though they may enjoy the mission they down vote it because of the paltry payout...they say they are listening...I think its selective.

Because we are used to getting so little money, 10k per mission might seem normal, but reallyyy thoooo, a f*cking horn is 14000, a turbo is 50000.. 3000 for a mission is just them laughing their ass' off screaming ; "BUY OUR CASH CARDS cause you ain't getting money from these basic mission, kids !".

Ridiculous, even 10, 11, 12, 13k sounds absurd when you look at the prices of all the sh*t in online

Theyre actually fun but I agree theyre underpaid, especially Crime Scenester. That was probably the toughest mission in the game, the payout was so meager I have no desire to play it again it's just not worth it.

the whole cash card theory doesn't really come into my thinking or my crew, I have $18m+ legit "played for and earned" in the bank from playing a wide variety of missions in our sessions, not just RR we play all the lower level ones too,

so it's not really about the money for me, it's about that so called "game balance" R* keep banging on about and constantly using as an excuse to adjust everything.

"game balance", yeah right, it's time to throw that one back in their faces.

the problem with the new missions is the payouts do not reflect the difficulty level but match with the rank level they made them for, which causes the majority of players to ignore them instead of play them, a lot of other missions cost more in ammo and armour to play them than you earn from playing, keeping the payouts low is a waste of dev time if nobody plays them.

I'm not really bothered by the payouts because I enjoy playing just the missions (only on hard) with crew mates anyway, but getting the difficulty, time and ammo invested versus payout balance right makes more sense than wasting dev time and talent on making missions nobody wants to play because the incentive to do so is sh!t.

R* could have avoided a lot of the BS if they had used the current mission grinding model and hidden it behind the Bronze to Platinum award system for number of times missions played to unlock the next set of missions etc and had an increasing pay structure to match player rank levels, giving the players an incentive and reason to replay ALL missions equally, as it stands rank means nothing over 120 and despite the weapon unlocks it stood for nothing after 100 for stats or missions after 81.

if you have the time to play this game, cash cards are not even needed if you stay out of open freemode lobbies with randoms, ammo gets costly real fast.

but given the amount of Time Sinking R* designed into this game it's pretty clear they are money grabbing as much as they can from those who don't play the game sensibly or have to top up with cash cards to get the most of their limited playing time.

I think most adult player's problem with the mission payouts is the pure amount of real time the game consumes and how little you can achieve while playing in that time given that the cost of the in game content is set ridiculously high and imbalanced.

there's also the fact that most adults who play video games do so to escape from their daily grind for cash, with some escapism in gaming, not to be greeted with low reward gameplay that's more like a real life job than a game,

that's when the rub sets in, when game devs deliberately attempt to design a game to get you to hand over even more cash earned from real life working, to bypass grinding and working for cash in the game you already paid to play to escape from the real life work grind in the first place.
