Hey all, I'm pretty new to this site, so i thought I'd bring this up, as i've been thinking about it for quite a while now.

(Bare with me if there's already a post about this already)

I've been thinking just how awesome an in-game Lottery would be online.

I feel money is a big focal point in this game as you constanly restocking ammo, buying luxorious cars, clothes, with the new updates, it's just a lot more teasing (New Cars, Planes, Outfits, Weapons etc) And before you know it, you find yourself buying xbox points or PSN points to get your Red Shark Card.

10 minutes later, you're down to like 100k after fully customising 2 Zentornos or Adders, not to mention restocking all your Ammoniton, which costs like 135k, etc etc

Now I'm all for companies making a profit and such, but I feel like some of us might struggle to be putting points in-game each time there's a major update and such, so here's some ideas I feel could compensate some of us:

(Feel free to your ideas also :colgate:)

For example, I'm from Glasgow/Scotland, players in this region will be able to buy tickets every Tuesdays - Fridays, via money earned in game, NOT buying xBox live codes, or PSN points or whatever. Money you earn IN game --

You buy as many tickets as you want, and you automatically enter a draw of some form:

Now if awarding players with too much money will become an expolite, then they could do 2nd and 3rd tier prizes for players who just missed out on the jackpot, that could suffice

For e.g.

-- Player A: Win's Ammo refill for all weapons slot (We know how expensive refulling your ammo to it's maximum capacity can be)

-- Player B: Win's a vehicle, item or perk of choice (Buzzard, Tank, Apartment, Special Weapons, Unseen on Radar for 1 day, Unlimited Health for 1 day, Or no Wanted Level for 1 Day)

-- Player C: Last but not least, win's montatery funds (Prizes should range from 50k to 1000000, depending on how many numbers matched)

Now I understand this could be quite uverwhleming, but if R* came up with some structured manner on how to implement his into context, I feel it'll reward the players with a better gaming experience.

Please follow @shevyblaze on twitter to discuss all things GTA related. :colgate:

Just open the casino and let me play Texas Hold'em against the squeakers.

I wanna be the Phil Helmuth of GTA.

I think its a good idea. I also think the idea of being able to use gta money to play at the casino would be fun too. R* would make a fortune lol.

You're doing something seriously wrong.

I have faith that Rockstar is going to eventually open up the casino. I'm guessing it'll be the next major update after heists as they'll want to keep player interest peaked and that would pretty much do exactly that. Add the hype and attention to the mere fact that a casino would extend the life of GTA:O nearly indefinitely and it only makes business sense. And, I can't believe I'm going to say this, but holy hell cash card sales would be flooding in due to most people generally sucking at gambling.

Going to break down your prices, sir.

-- Player A: Win's Ammo refill for all weapons slot (We know how expensive refulling your ammo to it's maximum capacity can be)

If someone at a high level keeps their ammo full, this is an useless price.

-- Player B: Win's a vehicle, item or perk of choice (Buzzard, Tank, Apartment

If someone already has all that from the billionaire days, this as well would be useless.

, Special Weapons,

Like what?

Unseen on Radar for 1 day

Not going to happen. This can be exploited.

, Unlimited Health for 1 day,

Already exists, it's called God mode.

Or no Wanted Level for 1 Day

Not going to happen as well. This will make the cops lose their jobs.

-- Player C: Last but not least, win's montatery funds (Prizes should range from 50k to 1000000, depending on how many numbers matched)

Not going to happen as well, this will make Rockstar think they lose out on cash card sales if you're really that good at gambling.

Weren't there lotto tickets in GTA Chinatown Wars? I'd like a similar mechanic to that. It'd be kind of cool.

Good idea but it won't happen because of Cash cards.

A casino and a lottery system would have zero to no impact on Cash Card sales. While yes there will be people that make a small fortune, casino's always favor house. A lottery is very hard to win as well.

Basically adding gambling is another way to make people lose money, the difference is this time they have hope of winning something. And with that said, some people will actually win, but the majority will lose. Anyway back to Cash Cards, as people lose their money gambling, they'll purchase more cash cards in order to feed their addiction.

I'd rather get a Lottery than have to worry about a dumb stock market in the game.

Unless they gave us a FINANCIAL NEWS CHANNEL where we could see a reporter talking about companies and what they are up to like the updates we get on the radio (stock tips) in single player.

Otherwise a lottery would be the cheapest and better way to reward us with some cash!!

Hey mate, I can understand everything else you're saying in terms of Billionaires keeping thier Ammo fine and well, but i wasn't aware that they were God Mode online? I'm certainly aware of a God Mode in GTA Story Mode, but not online.

I ment a God Mode for a day to wreck havoc online for a day or two for being a winner.

Also, Thanks to everyone's feedback. I wasn't aware that they were a Casino patch planned for GTA Online already, that could also be fun.

But for the Poker and blackjack-illiterates like my self, I would barely benefit rarely. Unless they had Rullette obviously  that's possibly all I'd play in Casinos.

Someone else mentioned scratchcards aswell, that would be pretty awesome.

I think a lottery or casino would be awesome. But to be honest, I don't think Rockstar will ever bring such a big update like bringing casino's. I hope i'm wrong. Lotteries en Scratch cards however don't look like that much of a hassle to implement in the game. They had scratch cards in chinatown wars, why not in GTA V. While at a store buying snacks and before robbing it, why not buy a few scratch cards and test your luck? (And like snacks, there should be a maximum amount of scratch cards that you could buy.)

It would be a big step. It was pointless for them to add the casino for decoration. I don't recall if it was in a mission or not. But, we can definitely expect it in VI, especially if we're going back to Vice City. My guess is they'll recreate Daytona Speedway along with a working casino next to it to possible bet on races.

What are the legal ramifications when you can turn actual legal tender into game money to gamble but cannot convert game money into real money?

Youre not gambling with your money - you are buying GTA$ that can be used on anything, you are choosing to gamble virtual money for virtual profit.

Where it runs into problems is the differences in international law - knowing Australia, being the nanny country it is we probably wouldnt end up having access to a casino.

Its sad when people don't like possible additions to the game just because they are scared it'll be exploited.

Lame.

OT: Idk about a lottery, but I'd definitely like more gambling opportunities.
