My Xbox 360 being a jerk!

This issue has been going on for about a year now.

Nearly every time I turn on my Xbox I get 4 flashing red lights. This is usually the error you get when you don't have your AV cable plugged in, but I do have it plugged in...

To make the 4 red rings go away I have to do some jiggling of the AV cable and then take the Xbox and rest it on the power supply in a way that pinches the AV cable where it enters the Xbox.

It's as if the female end of the plug on the Xbox is loose or coming off the motherboard or something. It's not the AV cable, I have tried different cables and they all do it. It's not the TV. The picture quality is perfect and it doesn't go bad or anything, I either have picture or I don't. It's a bad connection for some reason. The Xbox is old, It's the Original Gangster Xbox with the 20GB HDD, I somehow never had the red ring of death.

So.

- I get 4 red lights even though my AV cable is plugged in correctly with no loose connections

- To make the Xbox work I rest the thick part of the AV cable (the side with the HDTV/Standard def switch) on the Power Supply to make the lights go away. (This means my Xbox sits at a funny angle with the front down and the ass up a few inches because of resting the AV cable on the Power Supply)

- After I get it sorted it will work perfectly the entire time I'm playing games.

- If I turn it off and turn it right back on it will work just fine

- If I turn it off don't use it for a day or so, and then turn it on I will have to go through this whole rigamarole of jiggling things again.

It works for now but I feel like It's getting worse and worse and I have to fiddle more and more to find that G-spot and make the red lights go away. I can add pictures or w/e if it will help make it easier to understand.

If anybody think's they can help me solve this mystery we would be the first to do so on the Google Machine. I can't find anybody else with this problem on the interwebs, lets become the go-to help article for this problem.

If it's not the AV cable, it seems like it's a problem with the part you connect the AV cable into the back of your Xbox. Not sure if anyone else has another suggestion, but mine would be to take it to a game store that maybe specializes in repairs and tell them the situation and see if they can confirm it's the part on the back of the console you plug the AV cable into. (Very rarely some stores will be nice enough to give you a free diagnosis on the problem and only charge you to actually replace it if it is the problem, and other times you can find a coupon for one from a store even if they charge you just to look at it)
