Should GTA:O have been a separate download?

Sorry if the grammar in the title seems off.

 

 

Do you think the online portion should have been completely separate to GTA V? I mean would you have accepted to wait till 2014 after the GTA V release and got something gta but a lane of its own?

 

What I mean is, taking free to play games for example (Tekken Revolution, DC universe, Soul Calibur lost swords).

 

Gta Universe online (is my name for it unless you can come up with a better one) could have been using all your gta character favourites through history as contacts with multiple cities, a separate featured radio playlist and so on. Con is I think the graphics would take a hit though. Unless ps4/xbone.

 

Do you think R* made the right decision from the ground up with the GTA-V/Online bundle?

 

Or do you like the other idea?

we all know F2P=PTW

 

now you CAN buy cash cards, that way you HAD TO buy cash cards.

I would rather it this was because that would take away much to much time and resources from more important things. Like a new RDR, GTA: 6, the illusive AGENT... Anything really. R* are one of the last developers to make amazing single player times. I dont want this ruined

It might actually benefit on resources to have a separate team work on something online based so the SP remains un-bothered.

 

I don't know how much staff they have but seems like R* can easily work on two - three different titles at the most.

GTA Online is f2p(imo) but however, cash cards are just pay to advance.

 

If R* makes a GTA 6, there should be a same GTA Online but takes place in a new city and some leftover items and stats from Los Santos. Although, it may sound impossible.

GTAO and GTAV are separate entities, despite the fact that they appear on the same disc...but I see what you're saying. Should the next version of GTAO be completely split from GTAVI? That's a tough question, cuz then comes the question of whether or not to make it F2P or Subscription based. If it was standalone and F2P, you think the cash card bitching is bad now? Ohhhhh baby.

I'm pretty sure that R* will be maintaining this iteration of GTAO long into the launch of GTA6. People still play GTAIV's multiplayer even with GTAO being an option. It won't last forever, but they're not going to just drop GTAO 1.0 the moment that GTA6 releases.

cash cards are not "pay to advance", it's just "pay to have it now".

 

all cash cards in the world will not help you rank up to 120 or win 50 races to unlock all car mods.

Well....GTA6 is probably 4-years from now? People still play IV but that doesn't get updates or is being looked after any more. Same will happen to gta:o if another one for GTA6 comes out.

Maybe just making it a different game to last 6-8 years at least would be better for everyone? I dont know
