skip chumash, but add vinewood on the track, those mountain paths are great

you go just go to the mountain after the sandy shore airport

this also fix your check point issue (that route 69 will be a problem when actually racing either)

I'll see what I can do.... The biggest checkpoint problem is right around te prison, a little after I think.... The arrow straight up points west... I've set up some props and shot but some people just start driving through the middle of the map lol....

Definitely needs a bit of work...

So the biggest deal is the stretches for most of you guys?

stretches you mean corners? (I am not a native english speaker, sorry)

I assume we will have catch up, slipstream on, as most people dont turn it off for long ass race

what I think about a race is, we will have different sections, some with crazy corners, which we can stick together with other car, then we have a high speed section which provides chance to take over, then again, and again...

so in this case, we start at the dock then get to the highway from LSC, this section have some tricky curb stone as the subway goes under and main street, and the egg sag there will cause a lot of crash. which will split the race into 2 group, lucky guys, and the unlucks guys.

after this is a high speed section, if we didn't get into the wrong lane, we will have a lot over take here, which will be a lot of run IF we have clean racers here.

Paleto bay is a nightmare down there, most people will stuck on that jump for more then 5 mins. so if I were you, I may take that away. but this is still a mid-high speed section after all, not much corners.

then we head to sandy shore after Zancudo, with the high speed corners here, this section will be very intense and you may get into the river if you miss  . airport section, dirt road, bad for supers, but not much trouble. and here is the problem, if we get back to Zancudo from route 69, as there are some slower cars here, they may aswell give up and block the road, that's why I dont suggest we use the same path in one race, we can go up to Vinewood instead, from east to the west, and get back to the town from that gas station.

back in town, if you dont mind, we can have one more fast section, which is similar to the race commxxt (I really cant remember how it spells, but is starts from somewhere near the beach, and ends after the red bridge by the port) which will be the last chance to catch up.

what do you think?

I'm about to be driving, so I'll fully respond to this in a little while.. GREAT advice tho... Especially on the "cars blocking the road" never even thought about that...

With the right about of people and great execution, this could become a whole new thing on gta lol....

Im not a big fan of long races with so many straights. Just by glancing at the lay out im turned off.

But if you're into it... Go nuts.

If this was 10 laps, it's an endurance race. Ever played Le Mans 24 hour race on Gran Turismo? That's endurance

I remember doing the 4 hour endurance event in Gran Turismo 5. I can't imagine 24 hours.

I loved those endurance races, won some cash irl for finishing one of them in GT4.

Secondary roads or everyone will fall asleep.

This.

Long Haul 2 and others similar are unbelievably boring and predictable.

Quite boring due to lack of corners, thus if catchup is off you won't see your opponents ever again if you crash once. If catchup is on it'll be a 20-minute pitting and ramming paradise. I'll pass. :)

This !

So more corners, I have catchup off, and yeah, tht does become a problem... Maybe no contact?

that's where I got the idea lol.... Used to be an avid gram tursimo player :)

Personally I would avoid the huge highway stretch. A long endurance race can be awesome, but I'd rather race through some city streets, some dustroads in the sticks, maybe a tour of Sandy Shores, the Paleto Bay forest. Just don't focus too much on the highway. It's a little boring and it only makes the cars with the highest top speeds (Adder, Elegy, Massacro) have the advantage without requiring any skill.

I have an idea for you but dont use Content Creator so I could be suggesting something really stoooopid ha!

Are you able to create a race where you can change vehicles, example start with supercars for highway section, hit checkpoint 1/4 way through racet and you are forced to change to say an off road vehicle, hit checkpoint 1/2 way another forced change etc?

Great advice guys... What I'll most likely do then is just create a new race from scratch and try to work all this good stuff into it..

It looks like Millionaire race in Test Drive Unlimited, which is nice. But comparing the maps... TDU was much bigger and here key point is variety of landscape. With this logic in mind, this particular route may be boring. You should provide screenshots of interesting corners.

ever played 75 laps on the Nurburgring Nordschleife in Forza 4? That is an insanely long race. Is the 24 Hours on GT actually 24 hours?

It just occurred to me why no one has made a race with 1 point of Blaine Country and 1 point in Downtown LS leaving races to basically find the fastest way there

Also turn slipstream off

I did I have one point syart in paleto and end at ls international. Its gta race and its called "free race" after the gta iv race mode free race where u started on foot and go from point a to point b

Your race looks like a more painful version of Long Haul II, which is an epic snooze-fest and there need not be anymore than the one super long, straight highway race. You want a real endurance race with corners and action, a-la grand tour, then try these out for size:

Epic Grand Tour: http://rsg.ms/1obE00y

This is a 11.1 mile lap race, therefore you could set it to however many laps you prefer to race in true endurance fashion, default 1 lap, average time is 6:30 per lap.

Epic Grand Tour II: http://rsg.ms/1obIhB2

This is a 17.2 mile point-to-point, with lots of action, lots of turns and hardly any straight highway BS, average time for completion in modded Super Cars is >10 minutes. Always conductive of a great, close and competitive race with lots of people in the lobby. Epic surprise at the end!

I also have both these races split into two smaller races, named EGT city, and country section(s) I and II, respectively.

EGT City Section (I) is the most popular of the 4 sections, of the two EGT's, with 80 thumbs up Vs. 6 thumbs down(it reads 82%, but we all know that is closer to a 93% approval rating). Trust me, with 85+ races made, these are quality Enduros.

Not 100% as I haven't used it, but could you do that in Capture Creator? Eg. spawn two teams equidistant from the objective, say each one's on an island on the west and east coasts. They swim to shore where there are bicycles, then as you get closer there are other vehicles to use to get there. I'm just pulling an idea out my ass here though lol, no idea how Capture Creator works.

I did something like this, if you search for my GT (DKNIGHT123) it's called Up, cuz you drive up the map. It's my first map, so not perfect and I had to put it to GTA race with lots of repair pickups for those who wanted to off-road it. It can be fun, but you need friends who won't shoot you even though it's GTA race. Been meaning to work on a newer one that was a little bit bigger, but lack of free time at the moment.

Looks cool. Made a similar one except it's a lap circuit for if you dare to do more than one lap.

Takes roughly 16-18 Mins per lap.

I remember racing all day, leaving GT4 on pause for the night and finishing the race the next day

After that wretched experience I only coached endurance races after that :pp

Circuit la Sarthe is about as long as I like to race, that's a little over 8 miles mostly flat out like it's namesake.

Since R* nerfed the speed the Supers only average about 140 around it.

If we could hit 250 mph I'd be all for some longer races

This will only be an endurance race if you do it on a BMX bike or a golf buggy.

A lot of good racers in this thread, lol. First Don, now you. I have your awesome track Catfish Getaway bookmarked. I got invited once since (I believe) Traksta was in the race you hosted. Might've been another RRR member, I don't remember.

I'll check out your Epic Grand Tour tracks too. :)
