Parallel racing universe?

So today I was doing my normal Long Haul 2 races with two other friends when at the beginning of the race, everybody left on the 2 count instead of on go. I paid no mind until I looked down to see my position and it wasn't showing. I also noticed my time was 180:27:000. I told my friends about it who laughed and said the board showed me in 2nd place. I continued racing only to notice I couldn't catch the first place car even though catch up was turned on. The guy finally wrecked and when I caught him, he was in a f*ckING ADDER (I was in a massacro because we were racing sports class). I told the guys of my encounter and they confirmed as they passed him as well. I finished 1st place but the leaderboard showed 9th but i finished with $20,000, 5000 rp and 3:00:000 time whereas everyone else finished in 10:00:000+ and the magical adder guy wasn't even on there.

 

Has anyone else experienced this? It seemed like some kind of parallel racing world!

Weird. I only race with my crew, never experienced this. Nice payout btw
