GTA V/Online South America Map DLC idea

I would actually buy that...Actually I would be totally okay with this if it was GTA6... I think the locales have gotten a little stale, we need a new exotic location, something we have not seen in GTA yet. The main character for some reason, feels like they need to be American though, something just feels like it has to retain that jaded perspective. Would be interesting to see that portrayed in the story line, like the naivety of the character eventually broken.

those maps would come without singleplayer, i dont want to wait so long for a 20 hour story, i want the city

In an interview a while back they said that was "the dream" since the inception of GTA multiplayer many moons ago. They have NEVER said it's coming to this iteration of GTAO, and anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together and a rudimentary understanding of how this generation of hardware works knows that what you're suggesting is techically impossible.

 

So please, stop lying to people. This is NOT a feature coming in the near future, nor has it ever been suggested by R* that it is.

Well as you see the opinions are quite divided.

 

R* said that they are toying with old stuff and that they will make map expansions. You can interpreted this in two ways: small maps or a new landscape .

Someone asked R* the plans for the future of GTA and Online and they said they will think of adding new cities or to revisit old ones in the near future. Most of that are near exact word for word quotes...i didnt misquote or twist anything...

Thank you but it wasn't my intention to have it as GTA 6. I don't even know if we will ever see a 6...

Online will grow for a long time

 

Maybe SP will be added with new maps.
this way:
GTA V: Las Venturas
GTA V: Cartels (drugs/mexico etc)

GTA V: Liberty State

etc.

 

This way they can create an giant game; by continuelisy releasing a new game; but staying on the path of 5.

 

we can only wait and see.

Having been to both Sao Paulo and Rio De Janeiro, I would say that if you are going to make a GTA game in Brazil, you either do it in Rio or you have both cities. Rio is a GTA city all the way; beautiful landscapes, crime, iconic landmarks, etc. If ever there were a Vice City in the real world, its not Miami, its Rio.

This is an idea, not confirmation or anything from R*.

 

This could be DLC for GTA Online on Xbox One/ PS4, or Xbox 360/ PS3.

Too bad, I always like a good read and to see some more confirmation would make ideas like this more common :-).

 

I suspect that R* has already something like this in mind; or at least it came by in their ideas.

As the developers of Max Payne 3 and 2K as their sister company; my guess is that they have quite the ideas left for us.

 

At least wait till the E3, Rockstar didn't go there in the last 10 years, but they will possibly reveal something before or after the E3, so everyone watches to them again...

If it was a game where all models, weapon system, vehicles, mechanics etc. should be made, then yes.

but GTA V already has all those (the RAGE Engine has featured all the models from MP3 etc.)

 

so they should be able to create this dlc within a time period way smaller than a whole new game.

Yes, GTA went to London twice in the past, but you have to understand that GTA is about Lampooning American culture. That's the series' central focus - taking the piss out of American culture. You take the series to a place like South America with REAL organized crime and really, really bad things happening to people (drug mules, etc) and suddenly the satire starts becoming commentary, and isn't as much fun to play anymore.

 

You think the torture scene in GTA V was out of place... wait for the GTA: South America mission where you kidnap a teenage girl and dope her up while charging old, nasty men to have sex with her to help fund your cocaine trade business. Good times.

I could see them doing Cuba for a game set in Vice City. After all in Red-Dead they did mexico and that was pretty cool

Well they nailed it with Max Payne 3 and GTA is an 18+ game.

I wanted to stay on the drugs path, kidnapping and child prostitution were not on my agenda.

Something like that would only be possible if you are a cop or something, need to safe them, but no, not as the badguy.

 

PS: Would be awesome to see a SP cop character in the GTA world; chasing criminals etc. (wasn't there a mod for IV which did this?)

 

And drugs and killings are also very real in Northern America.

Especially the South California region, because it is close to the Mexican border.
