Why does making money have to be so tedious.

R* wants to prevent people from glitching to get money, but are making it increasingly harder to make money the fair way, by doing jobs and such. Why is it that after doing a mission we cant just hit replay and go right back into it? instead we have to back out, go back into jobs, select the mission, wait for friends to join, etc. and on top of it, 90% the missions aren't worth the time when you can grind coveted or rooftop rumble for an hour and get much more. How is it so hard to boost the money and rp output for the rest of the missions, that way the game isn't just grinding the same mission over and over? It's really not that hard to stop people from glitching, just make it fun to get the assets to buy things legit. And obviously you get some people who will still do it, but the reason you have people coming up with new glitches pretty much the same day as the update is because getting money in this game just isnt that fun when its the SAME thing over and over.

Yeah to add insult to injury, the new missions are a joke for payouts. Also, they took no consideration that players 120 and above might enjoy a challenge and more complex missions. I'm just as baffled as you man, this update made no sense at all.

tbh it might be just me but iv never had a problem earning money both my first an second characters garages an stuff they own is all legit, i never grind missions because i dont have friends that play anymore if one of my friends was on i would do the top high paying missions once each then stop i only play like 1 or 2 hours a night sometimes big gaps where i don't play at all, going into the highlife update i saved 1.3million im not one who needs to have everything i still have 1 apartment an cars i like including the roosevelt, zentorno, an massacro, with max upgrades, and 1 supercar on my other character the cheetah maxed out, + apartment.

Point im trying to make is you dont need to grind missions for money, i also avoid free roam lobbies with randoms like the plague as wasting time killing people over an over there is really no point, and alot of people dont seem to get this and wonder why people are so rich i always hear kids on the mic saying omg how do you get money etc when i join these lobbies. All i really do on gta online is race it doesn't earn much but to me its what i enjoy doing most, My stats say i have earned 4.1mill an spent 4. My second character (which was my first) has earned 3.6 million and spent 3.3. Both of my characters are now sitting on 150k with single apartments and both are at lvl 80-81 and i only have about 3-4days playing time. While i want a new garage i will most likely buy just a 10 car garage or house for the least amount as money as possible. Im the type that doesn't need to have the best of everything, and really there is no point do you want a 500k Highlife apartment that you will probably never visit and look at other then the garage? i realised this mistake when i bought my first 400k apartment.

I normally find if i have to grind anything i immediately quit so doing 1 round of missions for an hour isnt so bad. Also the new rr isnt that hard 18k for the time it takes me to finish a race an get about 7k-10k so.
All in all find what you like doing in gta for me its races the only problem i have with it which makes it tedious is those stupid 30second race tracks that exist which pay barely anything around 1k and terrible rep yet people hit the replay button? i want replay removed from races because i cant handle doing the same things over an over again its why i don't grind and i don't get why people who race just keep replaying the same races over an over again, it makes me leave lobbies and go through countless loading screens taking the fun outta it, it would also be nice if people did longer then 2 lap races more as the longer you stay on a race the more money it gives supposedly, i have had the occasional race over 5laps but people just tend to give up by lap 3 and fall way behind which mind boggles me.

Simple answer. Rockstar wants you to spend real money on cash cards so they can get filthy rich.

Hail Sithis

Its not all that hard imo; do jobs, sell cars, rob stores and the most fun thing, kill bounties.

Just mix things up and it won't feel tedious at all, just don't worry about things like not having money or not being able to buy that super car or whatever. That's what made me turn to doing glitches, I was too impatient and wanted all the high end things, turns out all that stuff I spent money on I end up not using more than half of it...

I'm going half on a cheap PS3 with my brother so that we can play the game together. That means that I will essentially be his guide to the game, and I have to say; I'm going to avoid Rooftop Rumble for as long as possible. I want him to experience the game's full variety of missions and activities before we get anywhere near that grindfest.

I agree with OP; the mission payouts are very unbalanced. Some of them - Death From Above springs to mind - require an insane amount of effort for very little payoff.

"Why does making money have to be so tedious."

Well if you are a typically conformed schooled person, then this reflects real life tedious jobs.

Switch off your brain on the job and think about palm beaches and splashing waves etc.

Thats why the betting system is there, make your money from that, betting on yourself and coming first.

It's only tedious if you make it that way. Must have made half a million last night (Correction: Made $670,000 in about 7.5 hours) with a couple of crew members and it was a right laugh. Find a good group of people and just get at it.

The f*ck up of Rooftop Rumble hasn't helped but we're working our way round it

i understand how some folks have a hard time earning money in this game, but i also dont get it. just play the game, it offers a wide variety of things to do for fun and if you want to kill people all day long thats what deathmatches and capture and the other various vs. missions are for, they pay you to be be a killer instead of "punishing" you.

i have said it before and i will again, if you just relax and do some missions or races and stuff with friends/friendly randoms you can make over 100k an hour average without even trying.

They should certainly address the payouts of several missions. At least then there would be more missions to do when you want a bit of cash.

Personally, I never really played Rooftop Rumble or Coveted, because they weren't that fun.

When I need cash I tend to do missions like Chemical Extraction, Stocks and Scares, Method in the Madness, etc, but even so, only having 3 interesting missions that have a reasonable payout is a shame.

I like Los Santos Connection, Dry Docking, Landing Strip, High Priority Case, and a few others, and it's a pitty they can't be equally as viable to make money at the same time as having fun.

There's really no need for all of the new missions to pay so poorly, especially as a couple fo them are harder than lots of the higher paying missions we already had. People aren't going to get more rich and buy less cash cards if there are more missiosn that pay well, they're just going to play more missions other than Rooftop Rumble or Coveted. And if the few missions with the highest $ per minute remain the only choices, people are just going to get bored and quit.

You're kidding right? This is a GAME. Its not supposed to be a chore to make money. On top of it, no job required you snipe a bunch of people, steal their heli and grab a cargo crate near by. I shouldt have to "switch off my brain" to get money in a game, it should be fun.

try potshot on hard.. its easy, all you need to do is shoot the 2 guys by the bridge, block the bridge with your car, wait for the van to come then shoot the driver and deliver it.. $10,500 for no more than 3 or 4 minutes

They want you to still be playing in a year. If you could play and unlock all the cool sh*t in a week, people would bitch and moan about not having new stuff to buy (...Oh, wait). Up until 1.13 making money was laughably easy. Now that they've upped the difficulty, it's a little more challenging, but the game still isn't hard. Make a playlist of games you enjoy and do them. Or stay broke. Whatever.

OR, if you're lazy, have a short attention span, or simply don't have the time to invest, buy a cash card.

idk, R* makes absolutely no sense

make RR more tedious, time consuming and boring, but leave the payout the same (which feels like a joke now, with all the extra tedium they added)

meanwhile, there's more fun ways to make money, which don't pay you jack sh*t.

why can't winning street races in freeroam net you a couple thousand? not everyone enjoys sh*tty "verified" tracks, rubberbanding and bumpercars, which pretty much only gives you chump change.

the armored trucks were dropping moneybags that carried up to around 11,000 a little while ago..why are big ass money transporters only carrying like, $1000-$4000 now?

gang attacks need an actual payout imo, not just whatever pocket change the NPCs drop. i think the reason people disregard them so much is because all you get out of them is a small amount of RP, which really noone gives a f*ck about.

store robberies? R* better start considering a payout increase for these too, because it's starting to not feel worth it, or fun anymore with their constant, unnecessary police buffs.

R* obviously wanted people to stop grinding rooftop rumble, however, it doesn't help that the other missions may be "funner" than RR, but they pay you very little. they didn't exactly need to do what they did to RR, because spawning you somewhere else isn't really a game changer- instead they could've just increased the payouts for other missions, so they actually feel like they're worth playing.

but even after a while, playing different missions will get boring, because they all basically revolve around the same thing and use the same formula- which is why i strongly believe Freeroam activities need better payouts

as for these cash card conspiracies, i really don't want to believe this game is just a f*cking million dollar cashcow, i refuse to

that'd just completely kill it for me

Im not saying its impossible to make money if you dont grind for it, im just saying it would be nice if the payouts for some missions were better, Most of my friends have glitched and such due to the fact that they had nothing to lose. They got bored, they didnt care if they got banned or had it taken away cause they knew people would just find a new glitch and theyd have billions of dollars again. If R* gave more cash for things, and made it more lucrative to do the hundreds of other missions in the game, people wouldnt get as bored as fast and want to continue playing for their money instead of glitching

Yea, everyone is playing a year later but they dont give a rats ass about doing things legit. People would play longer if they could have all that cool stuff even just a bit sooner. Its not "challenging" its annoying. Tedious is completely different from challenging.

And i dont know how people can complain that theres not new stuff to do, they update the game like, what? every month or 2? It doesnt matter though if the missions they add arent even worth playing. Theyre being stingy with the payouts, and wonder why people glitch

I never said i don't like it, its still fun to just dick around with friends in, im just saying that if they increased the pay outs for missions it would be better. Theyll give you a mission for 5 grand that takes twice as long as one that costs 10. It makes no sense. I feel like they just blindly chose numbers at random for the payouts.

Not only is every job so low paying.

I totally agree with you. I think it is stupidly hard and boring getting money the legit way. What I find annoying is why R* don't understand why people glitch and hack? Is it not obvious?? I don't want to have to glitch but I'd rather glitch than spend hours and hours doing boring missions and jobs just to earn like $2000 each time. It's also stupid that R* "patched" the Rooftop Rumble replay method. It wasn't even a f*cking glitch!? The only reason why R* make it impossible to get money is because they are trying to get us to buy Shark Cards.

I make most of my money through races as that is what I do the most in GTAO. Yes I will play missions on a regular basis but I play the game to have fun and to play with strangers I will never meet in the real world and to have fun. Not solely for virtual money.

I find it tedious to get to Rank 75, but after that, I find Rooftop Rumble isn't that tedious if you only have a few games at a time. 5 games can get you just under 100k. Even after they needed it a bit in the latest update, it's still easy money and easy rep.

Maybe its so you dont get the most expensive stuff in a few months? The game is suppose to be enjoyed. Take your time. Sure, yeah, i think the paint jobs cost too much and dont understand why you need to win rally races to get the "Metals" colors, but thats just my opinion,
