Feltzer or Jester for Racing...Or?

Tier 1

Elegy + Carbonizzaire (In the hands of a skilled driver)

Tier 2

Massacro + Jester + Feltzer

Tier 3

Comet + Alpha (forgot about this one) + 9F + Carbo + Surano + Coquette

Tier 4

The rest

That's how I'd arrange a hierarchy for the Sports class, IMO. It's very well agreed upon however that your number 1 in this class when absolutely pushed to the limit is the Elegy, the traction is something to be heavily appreciated. It's not for everyone though. I like it but I learn more toward the Jester myself, it just feels better to me.

The Feltzer is a wonderful vehicle though, just enough grip for a RWD car. I'd put this behind the Jester however. Interestingly enough the Massacro is a shocker in my mind. Despite the drive train you'll find it's one of the best in class and for me takes the spot as the top RWD vehicle in the segment. It has understeer in relation to the Feltzer but give it some time and you'll be putting down quicker laps with the Massacro than you will with the Feltzer.

Aw that's cute;

Why is that "cute"?

I could do the same thing with say a Coquette which is underpowered in relation to all others and say the same thing, so I'm not sure why you're going there. My ideas on the other hand are attempting to remain objective and dealing with the cars themselves as much as possible. I.E. removing the human element or that thing we call "skill".

Or If I really wanted to fall for my own trap, I could say a "very very skilled" driver WILL be able to push the Elegy far and above all other vehicles in the segment.

At the same time I'm not endorsing this condescending behavior of that snobbish vehicle superiority, while in a sense I'm sure I indadvertedly am.

its up to you OP (driving style) most sports cars in this game are pretty competitive, my top?: Banshee, Elegy (it can get a little boring...), Feltzer, Comet, Massacro, Coquette (underpowered...lol)

Social club stats say:

Elegy >> Massacro > Jester >> Feltzer > Comet

The stats on Social club are only for single-player, are you aware of that?

If you start a race online you could check the real car-stats in GTA Online.

For the sports class I usually use a Jester or a Carbo. To me they feel like they have the best handling.

Most cars are competitive, Elegy only shines through if corners become uneven or rough.

You learn how to bang and kiss kerbs in an elegy then you will notice how other cars struggle in those similar conditions.

#Dialled in# elegy exit corners cleaner better and more consistent than any other car ... Entity included.

However, if you want pure fun power slide, four wheel drift into corners #Finnish flick# rally style then Shwartzer is the tool for that.

Carbonizzare is good fun, it's delicate back end fullfills continental GT driving.

So yeah, Elegy is King.

I'm just saying that I think the top Tier of the sports class isn't just dominated by the Elegy.

What I think is, that the Carbonizzaire, Coquette and Elegy are the top 3 best Sports in the game. Yeah, they all have different qualities, but they all can be equal.

Let's put it this way, I wouldn't say the Coquette and Carbo belong in your Tier 4, labelled "the rest"

Here's how I would put it:

Tier 1

Elegy, Carbonizzaire, Coquette, Feltzer

Tier 2

Massacro, Surano, 9F, Jester, Alpha, Banshee

Tier 3

Comet, Rapid GT, Khamelion, Sultan

Tier 4

The rest

Above poster you can really do better laps in a Carbo and Coquette than a Massacro?. Can we see some times because I can't get those cars within 3 or 4 seconds of the Massacro.

From me, not much of an advice i can give you but its actually depends on your preference. Jester fits my driving style so i would choose Jester. I never really drive Feltzer that much since i dislike its bizzare DTM bodykit but so far it is like what people said, it grips so good for an FR car. Its just doesnt fit to be driven on the public streets, that is something that only fits on the track.

R* aimed to make the Feltzer looked like SL63 AMG black series but came up too much and over the top imo (unlike the Scwarthzer which is perfect). If they made the car exactly as perfect as the black series (not too bizzare but also looks beast) i'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Comet.

It has one of the best acceleration stats of it's class.

Elergy is definitely in a class of its own.

I'll often do 10 solo laps in a race using various cars to see what's best.

I always feel like I'm going faster in my Jester or Comet, but the Elergy is usually at least a second quicker than the others. It just doesn't feel it 'cause it does it with less drama. It's also much easier to nail consistent lap times in it.

An other point to remember is the Elergy is by far the most stable when things get a bit tousy with ramming and barging.

Just yesterday I had a race in the 2 mile lap race. I choosed a Jester while the other player choosed a Feltzer (Both stock) and I won easily

I probably didn't race enough since i got rid of NAT 3 just a day ago, but... I never intended to buy a sports class car so i got Sultan because it's somewhat rare and Buffalo 2 because you know why. And Sultan does surprisingly good, especially against Jesters and such.

Not true. I think you misunderstood me. I don't mean the stats of the cars. I mean the race records. Just browse the R* created or varified tracks, and it'll let you see the leaderboards for each circuit, and the best performing cars.

Besides the blatantly hacked or bugged times and the bikes, it'll give the best possible idea of which cars are objectively best.

I usually use a Carbo but you need some skill to drive it. For twisty circuits like the Nürburgring the Alpha is almost unbeatable.

I owned the Jester and the Eligy but didn't like the driving or the looks.

But with catchup and slipstream on you can win races in almost every car. The car choice is overrated, most bad racers drive a Elegy, Feltzer or a Comet just like the GTA IV days when the noobs al were driving a Sentinel XS or a Infernus.

update:

Ive become a Sports Class Junkie!

I have bought and sold almost all of them, and rebought some.

I was really shocked with The Alpha...beast!!! But it looks awful so i opted not to buy it.

I love the F9,but I just cant tame it,so I sold it.

I currently have:
Elegy
Feltzer
Surano
Jester
Carbonazairre.

I really liked The Coquette, but it was easier for me to drift in the Jester then the Coquette

I had the Massacro, and its a great car, just dont like the looks of it at all,so I sold it.

I think a lot of it depends on wht race youre doing. The Jester for example gets used in long straight aways, but in races with a lot of sharp turns,it shines.

Now just waiting for that 3rd garage so I can own them all ;)

Personally I'd go for the Massacro instead of these two. Hell, it has some pretty decent grip.

The Elegy is apparently worth a try. I seem to remember a story on this forum about the Elegy being competitive against the Entity.

Skilled driver in an Elegy, you're f*cked. I don't think I've ever lost a race using it.

I usually use my comet though.

I've driven them all, and keep going back to the carbonizer. The handling is just spot on for my style of driving. People talk about the elegy, and I agree that it is faster, but it's not as fun to drive. With my carbonizer, I keep thinking "I can do this" when I am heading into a turn way too hot. And sometimes if I am really in the zone, I actually can! With the elegy, I keep thinking "no problem" and sometimes end up in a wall.

The elegy never surprises me in a good way, and that takes all the fun out of it.

As an avid racer that loves the sports class, I don't think anyone should have any car outside of either the Elegy, Massacro, Jester, or Feltzer. The Elegy is by far the best due to what I would consider overpowered traction since the power ratio is different from any other vehicle in game. It may not be the fastest in a straight line race but most other races it is top tier, especially if you can push it to the top of its capabilities. I personally used a fully modded Feltzer until the Jester came along. The problem with a fully modded Feltzer is that it was easy for it to lose traction. I love the Jester for the AWD and feel it outperforms the Feltzer (unfortunately it does not have the nice roar and gear shift sound as the Feltzer). Also with rear louvers the backside of the Jester becomes bullet proof great for GTA Race. I've been thinking of getting the Massacro to test out but am nervous to drop $275k then probably another $200k in mods just to see if I like it better than the Jester. But definitely only choose between the Jester, Massacro, Feltzer, or Elegy. People that tell you the Carbo, Coq, Comet are the best haven't faced good racers in the other 4. The 4 I mentioned by far outperform all others in both straight line and curving races.

I tested all the Sports class solo on the race "Downtown Underground",which takes place in an area im likely to be driving in free roam anyways. It was some nice easy turns, some tight turns, some straight aways, and a jump.

Coquette,Jester and Alpha all did real well for me in those tests, but Alpha is too sedan-ish looking, and Jester was more responsive and manageable in power slides/drifting than the Coquette so I ended up adding the Jester to my other sports cars

Glad to hear you added a Jester. I personally love Downtown Underground, I like to test out cars there for my own take. I also watch Broughy's youtube trials of cars on Cutting Coroners especially since I can never match his times.
