Feltzer or Jester for Racing...Or?

since we now have the ability to own a 2nd garage Ive began filling it with race quality cars.Prior to this,I never raced cuz all my cars were slow cars that I owned simply because I liked them.

I am admittedly not the most talented racer,as im used to cruising around town in my Manana or my Tornado.

I bought a Carbonizzare for my Sport class racer, and while it was fast,I got used in races cuz im not used to cars that go faster than 40 MPH.Pretty much everyone Ive ran into in Sport class racing uses a Feltzer.

So heres my question:

Is the Feltzer the best Sport class racer...ort is it the Jester...or is it something Ive yet to mention?

Again...I suck at racing..I know this,so im looking for a good balance of speed, handling and road grip...Not the fastest in a straight line.

Thoughts?

I personally prefer the feltzer. It grips to the road and it will not slid out at all so it makes the most out of its horses under the hood. That said I am seeing a lot less of them racing along side with mine. I see less jesters winning racers than feltzers or other cars. Plus if you are racing with assholes that ram, the feltzer can hold its own in a shunt war and if you end up on the ugly side it recovers quick.

In short my vote goes to Feltzer

Tier 1

Elegy

Tier 2

Massacro + Jester + Feltzer

Tier 3

Comet + Alpha (forgot about this one) + 9F + Carbo + Surano + Coquette

Tier 4

The rest

That's how I'd arrange a hierarchy for the Sports class, IMO. It's very well agreed upon however that your number 1 in this class when absolutely pushed to the limit is the Elegy, the traction is something to be heavily appreciated. It's not for everyone though. I like it but I learn more toward the Jester myself, it just feels better to me.

The Feltzer is a wonderful vehicle though, just enough grip for a RWD car. I'd put this behind the Jester however. Interestingly enough the Massacro is a shocker in my mind. Despite the drive train you'll find it's one of the best in class and for me takes the spot as the top RWD vehicle in the segment. It has understeer in relation to the Feltzer but give it some time and you'll be putting down quicker laps with the Massacro than you will with the Feltzer.

The Elegy is by far the fastest, learn how to drive it and leave the rest in the dust.

I've never encountered a random in a sports class race using the Feltzer other than me. It's somewhat underrated IMO and quite a good car to have for racing.

Would not race this bracket in anything else

agree with THIS

Elegy is free again, you should have the Massacro & Jester if your keeping up with your patch updates, so go get that Feltzer!

I don't think anyone can go Online without the latest patch because they won't sync with the server.

Grab Jester if you don't like slippery car.

I raced with the Feltzer a lot during the first months in GTA Online, then everyone started using Elegy so I bought one as well. Now I'm only using the Jester, easily the fastest car in this class. The handling might not be the best but the speed definitely is. I've never lost against an Elegy in my Jester.

You have herein established a contradiction in your post.

You state this is complete bullsh*t. You also state that the Carbo is one of the fastest vehicles.

You cannot debunk the Elegy being the vehicle that absolutely sets the best possible lap time for any vehicle in this class, you just cannot. Now is the Carbo a quick car? Yeah sure, but there's more to most races than speed and straight lines.

So no, none of that is bullsh*t. The Jester and Feltzer are the superior vehicles. I'm nitpicking though, arguing some negligible things with the idea of setting the best lap times. Truthfully anything can win in the class depending entirely on the happenings in the race.

You forgot to add in a vital factor that would be driver skill

Elegy is ultimately fastest but the Massacro is on it's own in 2nd now. The Jester isn't close to it imho. I also think the majority who are not pros with the Elegy will be fastest in the Massacro so to OP, I'd definitely reccomend the Massacro.

After that come Feltzer and Jester, then things like the Carbo and 9f. I raced a guy whos 140 wins 110 losses last night and he beat me everytime we raced the same cars. When we raced sports class he had no possible way of beating my massacro with his jester, it just wasnt fast enough, every time we exited a corner I was pulling away too much. IMHO on most tracks the Alpha is faster than the Carbo so don't forget about that. The Alpha is certainly faster than the Comet, Coquette etc.

G37s assessment on the relative performance tiers of the cars is pretty much on the money so buying anything in the top 2 tiers will set you up nicely.

My caveat would be this. When I look at the top lap times on each track its pretty clear to me I'll never get close to them unless I dedicate literally weeks of practise and even then I doubt I'll realistically challenge them. I would need to find several seconds above my most perfect lap to get close so I would suggest do some practice laps and choose the car that feels most comfortable. Anything in the top 3 tiers is capable of winnng consistantly when driven reasonably well.

My personal preference is the Feltzer as I love how sticky it is to the road. I know the Elegy is quicker but the Feltzer suits me better. If your driving skill is in the top 5%-10% and you're a serious racer then choose the Elegy, if not then choose what feels best and have fun.

If your racing with catchup on it really doesn't matter what you use, if it's off I always smoke anything with my comet or carbo

Top end racing: elegy massacro and comet IMO
also the alpha is the most under rated and will easily smoke a jester

I ended up selling the Carbo and geting the Feltzer....raced it and came in 3rd out of 7...not bad for someone who rarely races. If I get proficient at handling these cars I might give The Elegy a try...thx for all the helpful input thus far

This^^.The elegy is undoubtedly the fastest sports car.It is boring however. You'll have a much more fun race with a jester/masscaro/feltzer.The jester is very good on the straights and is planted going around corners. The masscaro is incredibly fast on the straights and still has decent handling. The feltzer has great speed, acceleration and handling but is slightly slower than the other 3.It has decent weight though and is hard to pit.It is also probably a bit more fun than the other 3.You should just pick your favourite out of the top 2 tiers and race with that. Also ignore people saying the carbo. It is in no way,the fastest sports car.

Yes the Carbo is a must have car for its beautiful balance and controlled slides but its in no way a race car :). Neither is the Comet.

I see the elegy as a rookie sports car intended for beginner to intermediate racers, pros would pick other sports cars

More or less agree with G37.

Social club stats say:

Elegy >> Massacro > Jester >> Feltzer > Comet

The argument that other vehicles are better if you're a better driver is a falacy. A better driver will also be able to squeeze more out of the above vehicles than the average driver.
