That is irrelevant. For the price it is (Free) it's WAY too good around corners than what it should be. You have nothing to discuss. The Elegy is OP and that is a fact. Every pro racer knows it, Broughy1322 knows it, GUN1T123 knows it...

I've given you the terms on which things are typically determined to be overpowered. The onus is on you to actually prove it, without using tainted leaderboards.

 

Like I said. A lot of people think that the top speed means it's the best car. So that puts it in the underused and Overpowered category. Next, we have all the leaderboard times. Why does it seem to beat a lot of the supercars? Why are no sports cars near it when it's used correctly? It's OP.

I beat elegys in my carbo all the time. It isn't overpowered but in the right hands and with enough curves it is one of the best cars in GTAO.

Where did you get this info? I've been able to beat supercars in my carbo and the game stats show the carbo as the second fastest accelerating car in the game. This lists seems personally rearranged and can be debunked very easily by simply racing these cars against each other.

Notice how I have not once mentioned the top speed of the Elegy, or in fact, the top speed of any car in the sports class?

 

Leaderboards are pointless in determining whether a car is OP or not. And that's before you consider how tainted they are due to glitches and such.

 

I've already given you the criteria for determining whether something is OP or not, but you keep avoiding it like the plague. I'll make it simpler for you:

 

The Elegy is OP if a crap driver in an Elegy can consistently beat a more skilled driver that is using one of the other competitive cars. Now that've made it even simpler for you, go prove it. Or handwave and fall back on leaderboards again. Choice is yours.

Did 2 races on "Break out the brakes" (?) I believe. One race I used the Zentorno, the other I used the Massacro. Short story even shorter: The Zentorno did a 1:10 and the Massacro was just 1 second slower. And I think its a pretty balanced track with high/low speed corners and some straights. So I was pretty surprised with that as I did very good laps with both, couldnt have gone much faster.

What does that have to do with the GTR/rh8?

Where did you get this info? I've been able to beat supercars in my carbo and the game stats show the carbo as the second fastest accelerating car in the game. This lists seems personally rearranged and can be debunked very easily by simply racing these cars against each other.Broughy's videos.I also tested them myself and found his results to be accurate.I was very surprised with some of the cars such as the feltzer only being 4th and the carbo being 8th.

To be honest, I really do not like the Elegy. It looks a bit cheap, it's boring, not particularly exciting, and sterile, much like it's real-life counterpart. Probably why people tack massive spoilers on it and paint it bright colours- to inject some personality.

 

While it's a technically good car, and arguably the easiest to pick up, I seriously doubt that it is the quickest Sport. Some of the others can be a bit less stable, but at least they have characteristics- the Carbonizarre's back end can kick out, the 9F's steering can feel a bit loose, but in the Elegy every is bend dispatched competently, with just a bit of tyre squeal. Whereas the Carbonizarre is ridiculously quick through the bends once you know how to keep the back end in check, and the 9F has insane acceleration, and once you get used to its steering the 4WD really helps to keep it nice and stable.

 

What I'm saying is that the Elegy may be quicker if you hop in and go, probably why it seems to be the car of choice for every squeaker, but once you get to know the other cars, you can give any Elegy a run for its money. And have a lot more fun in the process.

It's fast enough to win races, but inexpensive enough to use in freeroam and not take a big hit on bank accounts if it's destroyed. But moving it into Super class is ridiculous. It's based on a GT-R which isn't a supercar, it's just a really, really, REALLY well built race machine.

 

Bumping it up in class would be more of a demotion than a promotion...it'd go from being the best Sports to one of the slowest Supers, and with that too would go it's relevance to the GTAO community.

That's where the list came from, racing times! As opposed to your anecdotal, "I beat x with my Carbo" (not even close to the 2nd fastest accelerating car)

 

I don't think the RH8 should move to the super class but continuing to debate it's standing as the fastest sport is crazy! especially against a carbonizzaire

The Elegy is not a supercar. Period. It's a top sport car.
And for a reason, its real life counterpart is a top sport car too.

It's sometimes called supercar in real life, but by this definition a Dodge Viper is a supercar too, Audi R8, Porsche 911 Carrera, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 etc are too.

I hate calling anything overpowered because 9 times out of ten it is about whose hands the item is in and fixing it requires nerfing things...they almost never raise the other things to balance. Also they never tell you when they nerf things which almost always costs people money in game. Even the planned move to super class is a nerf because it basically renders the car useless to anyone that owns it because they likely already own one of the top three supers.

 

With that being said, my crew has done a lot of time trial competitions and some have come to the conclusion that when we choose a sports TT we should exclude the Eleghy because it consistently pulls the wins. This also makes little sense to me as if you keep removing the best car than eventually your out of cars. The point though is that the general belief of the racing crew is that Eleghy is the best by far.

 

I personally dont really mind any one car being the top dog...though I would prefer it had one or two theoretically equal competitors. My main issue with this particular top dog is that it is free. In my opinion a car that is free should be competitive on average among the class but not be the best.

 

I still maintain that changing its class is a really bad idea as it will be contending for worst super and it will be removed from so many garages it might as well just be deleted from the game.

Why is there so much hate, it is fast and free, we should be happy to have this car and it helps people to be competitive in races, especially newbies, I love mine despite replacing it numerous times I have to get it back. Seems to me that the people complaining are moaning because they don't have it or want everyone to dis own it after a nerf, well it's awesome and it's handling isn't good for every driver so it still remains competitive as long as you can turn properly with it, besides winning races is also about skill so a noob in an elegy can be beaten by a sultan rs as long as you have the skill to beat them, any way why would you want to nerf a fast, free car? because people want this to be a racing sim, that's why.
