I'm going to say the elegy is OP, watch any of broughy1322 videos on it. It gets better lap times than the entity and zentorno on some maps. Most of the sports cars are very well balanced and get close laptimes but the elegy always crushes the other cars unless its a drag race.

 

That track he uses is bad tho... That bump at the end of the Hospital cut through can make and break seconds on some cars. And most tracks don't have that sort of silly cut through or bump at the end.

 

The Elegy takes that bump really well.. Almost as if its not there. Of course it will get the faster time.

Thats part of racing though. GTA tracks aren't perfect so you need to accommodate for that.

I personally hate that track just because of that part of the race. I mean, trying doing that track with a Phoenix and you really need to compensate for that bump while a Gauntlet just flings over it and keeps going, even tho the phoenix is already slower that just slows it down even more.

 

Id pefer more of a Ring of Fire for a good test track. Nothing but road.

Yeah, the bati 801 has the fastest speed around any track with wheelies. Just look on the leaderboards, bati 801 is above the akuma every time with the exception of a few tracks. Not the point though. Isn't this thread for the elegy being OP? Yes. It is.

I personally don't like using other peoples video as the end all be all. I just test it myself against real players in real time on different tracks. Or do it alone..

 

I saw that one video.. That track hes racing makes no sense.. Hes taking short cuts and going off road. That effects cars differently. No?

*Most racers use an Elegy in the sports class because it is the only viable choice. "If I don't use an Elegy, I won't stand a chance!"

*Elegys win the majority of races they are involved in, regardless of player's driving skill. "I'm not really a good driver, but if I race in my Elegy and no one else has one, I'm guaranteed to win."

 

Except that neither of those statements are true. In the right hands it can be really good. That's all there is to it.

it is the ONLY car is this game i just can't seem to figuer out. yes it is crazy good in a lot of ways but the number of times it would slide out completly unexpectedly during races made me get rid of it. i do miss it kinda, but then i remember how angry it made me.... perhaps something has changed about it in the last few months cuse everyone thinks it has the best traction/handeling but i just dont see that.

I'll give you that! It does spin out for reasons I dom't know once every 15 race, but it's incredible except for that.

IMO there's too much grip

I don't mind a car breaking out a bit (carbo) but with the elegy you're either stuck to the road or flying off god knows where.

Disagree...its a low cost super,so if you expect to fly past Entity,adders and Zentoros in a straight away than youre kidding yourself.

Just because it's Asian doesn't mean it can't copmete with Ferrari's, I'm guessing you've never heard of the Lexus LFA if you haven't you should know it's track times have been comparable to that of some Ferrari's I forget which ones exactly.

It's a sports car, not a supercar. And for your information I still have my Elegy in my garage, it was the first car I used for racing and general bullsh*t.

What are you guys crying about? The Elegy is a great car. You get it for free, and it rivals most cars, even ones over 200 grand in price!! It looks great. It can be done in loads of styles.

 

People moaning about how lairy it looks, you don't NEED to put every mod on it. It doesn't NEED to be two tone, you can use the same colour, make it more oem.

 

That being said, I use my Jester more. I just love how mine looks like a real race car. I coukdnt imagine selling my Elegy though. Ever.

We are talking about the Elegy RH8. Not the GTR. The Elegy is OP in the sense that it is free, and preforms better around corners than any other car in the game.
