So far im enjoying the changes in freeroam due to this new mental state system. Players who want to kill each other start clustering together more often and you can get into some pretty complex shootouts.

 

A thought occurred to me though, what if instead of instead of a color as our icon in freeroam we had a rank or symbol instead? Now I have no idea what these ranks would be or how you would earn them, maybe you could choose your insignia through the list of awards you have done, or maybe they could have some kind of unique ranking system that takes everything into account (inb4 your level) and gives you a status of some kind. It doesn't have to be ordinal either.

The mini-map is too small (even on a big screen) to display players as anything more than a coloured dot. The skull currently used to depict players with a bounty is almost indistinguishable from all the other red dots. To have players depicted as rank numbers or symbols on the mini-map would be almost impossible.

This new mental state system just turned free roam into a zoo. I was in a session with a bunch of white dots and a couple red dots, then before you know it they're all crowded together. Shooting at each other and it seemed like the white dots were more aggressive than the red ones. All this mental state does is lull you into a false sense of security. Oh here comes a white dot, he's friendly. Bang! Wasted! And oh here comes a red dot, I better shoot him on sight. Not always the case. I had a red dot roll up on me outside lsc and I immediately started firing at him. What he did was floor it and get out of there before I could kill him then waited a block over until I left the area to go to lsc. The system is flawed and stupid. They should classify mental state by votes from other players. Any other system is a broken one

 

Oh, and I wouldn't mind a rank system of how psycho you are, but I don't think it should be based on NPC or police kills at all. And it's hard to separate player kills in self defense. That's why I think there should be some reporting system for psycho players that doesn't do anything but increase their rank/make their dot more red

I enjoy it too, just got in a huge melee battle which I love to do online, but I think the system is flawed. They should do some sort of rank system though so you know who's temporarily deranged versus who is a 24/7 psycho. They should keep a time counter of total time maxed out mental state

Also I recall reading you get RP for killing the guys in red, does anyone have a rough idea on how much you get?

No idea but if its a decent amount it won't be long before two friends just take turns killing each other back and forth so they can rank up

I like this idea a lot. Give a vote option to 'report a psychopath' during the death screen, so you can decide who you think is hostile and who is just messing around with you in good fun.

im almost a psychopath and i dont go out of my way to kill anyone. purely from random homo's failing to kill me.

 

how is self defense considered psycho lol.
