i think it would be too much data for freeroam, but we could see co-op hunting missions.

 

although since PETA protested gta5, R* might not even do anything else with the animal aspect in the game.

If you go to an invite only session, you'll notice things are bit more lively. I feel R* could've did more for invite only session and possibly having a lobby locked down to 4 or 8 players max to have more content such as animals and stuff. Oh well, PC/PS4 release hopefully soon.

How would one animal in the empty woods with some tree and rock props here and there lag the game out; but 20 peds, 16 cars, a full plethora of city props, and a tank blowing it all up doesn't?

People say console limitation frequently but I figure it's more a cloud server issue. I betting every server is hosting dozens of sessions.. the cpu's are blazing hot trying to keep things running, the network ports are blinking a million miles and hour and the air conditioning is running full f*cking blast to keep things from melting down.

When did you ever see just one deer in story mode? It's ways three or four prancing around, plus a ton of birds fin the air, and the mountain lion sneaking up on you.

 

And if you look closely, you'll see that the peds online don't walk around as much as they do in story mode. They just hang around and smoke, or fiddle with their i fruits.

 

I don't think it's the animals themselves that lag the system as much as the movement of the animals.

animals have more ai than peds and it's more active as animals are programed to always avoid, or fight the player.

 

peds have routine ai, and only become active when triggered by specifics. they ignore the player for the most part.
