Mental State level reset just after midnight (UK time)

I've been playing quite a few hours today and not getting into any freeroam fights with players or NPCs, watching the Mental State level slowly go down at the rate of about 3 hours per segment, then suddenly shortly after midnight UK time it dropped from 1.5 segments to nothing.

 

This is the third time I've witnessed this, the first time was at the beginning of Wednesday, then the beginning of Thursday and just now, the beginning of Saturday.

 

What about the beginning of Friday you say? I wasn't playing GTAOnline at that time, but the other 3 times I was.

i already posted in some thread that i witnessed it being reset daily at the same time since the 13th.

 

but i was cursed out as people have to bitch about something.

 

mental state works perfectly

 

i was red last time i played, still havent played today, so if i show up as white it resets everyone, if i'm still red you need to be on at the reset time.

at least now we know that R* uses GMT as it's an UK based company, not an american company as popular belief.

it's parent company Take Two is american, but they just publish and handle the finances, T2 has no creative input nor effects specific aspects in gta.

 

gta is still english satire on america regardless how much americans relate and claim the game as theirs.

 

i guess it's part of the joke.

I just came to the forum to find out more about this. I just played a 4 hour session, and it reset twice on me. From five bars to zero. I don't know what the deal is, but it takes a bit of effort and a bit of cash to get that sh*t up to five bars. I'm guessing it's a bug or a glitch as to why it would reset twice in the same session. I had no freezing issues. I was in the same lobby the whole time. Anybody have this happen to them? Any ideas why?

i've only seen it reset once per day, never twice.

 

it feels like they may still be tweaking the system as we play.

i'm still a psycho. so it seems you're only reset if you're playing at 00h gmt.

 

let's see if it carries on besides these first few days.

during the first 2 days the mental state seem to reset every 48 minutes, not it seem to reset every couple hours.

 

today i played a nice 4 hour session and in that time my mental state reset 2 times.

I played for about 8 hours today, probably an average of 25 minutes or so per freeroam session (get bored so do races/ missions) and it didn't reset once.

Go figure.

It's a screwey system if you have to be online during a certain time for it to reset.

 

I was at psycho level at the end of Thursday and because I wasn't online at the beginning of Friday it didn't get reset.

 

I don't understand R*'s logic regarding this feature, given the fact that it can take minutes to accumulate Mental State levels and hours for it to dissipate, then having it reset when you're online just after midnight UK time, and with some players experiencing more than one reset during a session.

 

IMHO it's a flawed system they should remove or fix. Dispatching NPCs and vehicles should not increase that stat.

Yessir. Myself, too. Today it reset on me twice in a four hour session. I got back a couple bars and went offline for an hour or two, when I made my first post and it reset again by the time I came back. Hopefully they fix this. And people... Any kind if killing should affect your mental state. Just because they aren't other players, you are still killing and destroying things within the world of GTA and Los Santos.

You're right, it's GTA. By the very definition of the word, you're causing problems for others if you were to jack their vehicles... Why should someone's idea of fun be diminished by a flawed and untested system?
