"Jazz Hands" = A sign of "I come in peace"?

Tried using the "Jazz Hands" Player Action when 3 players drove up next to me. Thought it would be a sign of "I come in peace" but I got shot up within seconds.

I had a lucky streak of walking around in Passive doing Jazz Hands continuously and the chaos just spiraled around me/ Kind of surreal, until they started using their Adders to play a game of pinball with me.

I used Jazz Hands at Twankers when I'm in passive...standing on something they can't reach. Pisses them off to no end. If I'm showing I'm friendly, I'll put my weapon away and Salute, or if I'm in my PV I'll honk and flash my lights. 90% of the time since launch it's worked in showing I'm not a hostile. Hell, even made a few non-crew friends that way. Being courteous has this weird effect of making people not wanna' kill you on sight from what I've learned. Also helps that I'm usually traveling in a pack of at least 4-6 crew members. So the only people who shoot 1st are the ones who wanna spend the next 10 minutes getting spawn killed by 6 people left and right.

Yeah, I had a load of unwanted attention the other day when I came out of my garage with a fully redden blip.

 

After the 'hit 'n' run' type players left the area, there was this one persistent dude that wouldn't leave me alone.

 

So, I went into passive mode - stood on a wall and waited for the right moment...

 

I jazz-handed him good and proper, you should have seen the reaction

Same here. I don't see it as a sign of surrender or I'm friendly at all. Don't know if people do this weird gesticulation in some parts of the world when they surrender or want to show they are friendly. Do they in Scotland or the US?

I was travelling to zancudo with a crewmate when a bounty approached, I got off my akuma and rifled him, and there was also another player that came by chasing the bounty. There was a short battle between the 4 of us for about 5 mins until everyone had spread out a little bit with my crewmate and I sitting down on the beach scoping the other two near the bridge. As one approached me I had him in my sights and he gave me the jazz hands surrender, I giggled a bit and lowered my piece. But my crewmate didnt seem to get it and picked the guy off. I felt a little bad for the guy but it was still funny. Jazz hands ftw. A little facepalm doesnt go astray sometimes either
