Does anyone actually drive boats in Free Mode?

Have not seen a single player drive a boat in Free Mode ever since GTA Online dropped. I seen a lot of players drive boats in GTA IV Multiplayer but in GTA Online have not seen one. Is it because they will get killed by a random player using a Lazer or Buzzard? (I probably just answered my own question but still... lol).

I have 3 boats from Dock Tease and Iove cruising in Palamino Highlands, the lake in the Tataviam Mountains and the Alamo Sea.

 

Cruising around in the Marquis with people is great. I think I use boats more than aircraft.

Actually, when I saw the title of the topic I immediately tought about all the boats I destroyed with the Lazer. I rarely see players riding boats but when I do, I fly to them and destroy them big time

I'm 80% of the time in the air griefing with the Jet

I don't think they spawn as frequently as in story mode, but I've taken boats out into deep water to avoid a bounty.

i use my jetski ALOTT when im up north. i've used the sub alot.. i driven every boat in online more then once lol. also i've had "yacht" parties on the sailboat.. good times... gooood timesss...

They should allow sharks online and if you kill one you should get RP

A few times, but mostly the sub if I can find it for exploration and trolling.

 

Took the yacht out once and anchored off the beach sniping people. Would've been nice if I could've sat down and had a drink on the boat. Ultimately the problem is there's no purpose for the boats unless you're actually roleplaying and there's little roleplay encouragement with this game. They need to add some sea content.

Taking the seadoo's up the creeks of the Alamo sea is pretty fun. And running from bounty hunters in a good boat is pretty effective.

I drive boats in online, i usually go to the small islands to have some peace of mind and can be idle for a bit longer without players shooting at me.

They haven't implemented any reason for using boats besides races.

 

Maybe if there was an island with sacks of money and you have to use a boat to get there.. But currently there's absoutely no reason for using a boat which sucks

Back in the billionaire days I bought everything from Pegasus, so I own all the boats. I do use them every now and again. If only the yaht club was a property .

 

Funny story so I'm on a Marquis and a guy in a fighter jet crashes onto my sail mast and he blows up but I didn't.

When im super duper extremely bored, i'll go to the beach where they have the jet skis lined up and i'll go back and forth going over the sand into that little circular body of water and then back into the ocean.

I own all the boats but have nothing to do with them.

 

They should have made an island in the middle of the ocean where there is a mansion with tennis, arm wrestling and darts.....or put a clothing store that sells only "nautical" theme wear. or a Sail Shop....you know with different colored sails.

 

That would give me incentive to boat my ass off.
