Any point in having vans?

Are there any point in having vans? (besides being a 'van fan')

 

I thought about getting a van and make it a crew van but the capacity is only 4 people. Also as far as I know there are almost no customization options for the vans. Also I don't really care for rarity if a vehicle sucks.

 

Btw with vans I mean real vans like the Speedo and Rumpo, so not the Bison.

The Youga has more custom options than other vans. Still not a great vehicle though. The only reason to get a van is if you want one for a specific reason. I got a Bison because I like pickups, and incase of van races, The bobcat XL is alright too and can look a bit more like a van with the bed mod.

I heard the Speedo has pretty decent performance, but as a racer, I don't see much of a point. Van races are really, really rare; I even encounter SUV and utility races much more often. Thus, I'm planning on skipping the vans class when I'm building my second racing garage.

You can get modified vans...but not through a legit method.The van is only good when somebody is persueing you,the people in the back can fire their Combat Mgs.The van also provides more cover.

If you can get a modded Speedo with performance upgrades from SP that thing is really cool. It's got great performance and others have mentioned hanging out the back.

Only 'practical' reason is because the people in the back can use 2 handed guns. The best van for this would be the paradise because it is the only true van with performance mods (only 2 people can go in the youga), I don't have it because of how ugly it is though.

You know i'm always confused by this association of Pedos with Vans, in the UK if you have an unmarked van you are likely either a contractor or a bike thief.

In the UK most rapists etc are driving unlicensed mini cabs.

The Vapid Speedo can be fully modded (save editor) and SP2MPed in. I have one and its amazing.

 

There's also the bison. Bad ass Dodge Ram, fast, 4WD, 6 passengers, big and heavy, good for ramming lol

The Youga is bad ass. Great mods, looks hot, and is something different driving on the streets. I'll never get rid of mine. The VW Surfer van is sweet too. Gotta be one of the lowest riding cars in the game.

I'm not really into glitching stuff in that's not supposed to be in online (But to be fully honest I did use the SP2MP Glitch to get fully modded cars because I had not unlocked everything yet)

 

I am considering getting a Bison. Two extra people in the back with MG's sounds awesome. How are the customization options on the bison?

Yeah but there is only room for two people in the youga so I don't really see a real benefit driving it. It sure does look cool if its modded but other than that it doesn't really have any advantages compared to other vehicles.

 

I just wish you could squeeze more than 4 people in a van. It is a van after all. I guess I'll never see the day that I drive a modded gang van to a rival crew member and a group of my crew members bust out trough the back and beat him to death with baseball bats.

Agreed. I would love to stuff 6-8 dudes in the back of the van and go looking for rival crews. Thats the one complaint about my Youga, as you stated, only 2 people can get in it. Still, it's such a cool looking van, different thaan most cars people modify and drive around. While it's slightly above averge on racing stats, where i think it's shines is being unique. Plus, the idea of a "street racing van" is pretty cool, IMO. I guess its aesthetically pleasing, more than anything.

Ow. Thats disappointing... I don't see why that isn't possible but that's just one of many mysteries in GTA Online.

 

I also hope that Rockstar creates visual customization options for vehicles that don't have any.

There are a few spots on the map they can spawn parked... when the stars are aligned.

 

Alternatively there are a couple of spots where they will always spawn if you already have a speedo with you, but only in one colour.

I found a silver Vapid Speedo in GTA Online and decided to keep it. I like it better than the Rumpo. Alll the other cars in the garage it's in are really expensive cars but still. I like it.

I would own a Rumpo simply for the Rumpo Rampage nostalgia but a Speedo is more in-line with what I'm looking for. Guess I'll scour the map some more. I did download the GTA5 Maps app. Google Maps for GTA basically.

The police riot van is great for friends/crew drive-bys, it's tough as sh*t with all that armour plating!

 

Except the police were too cheapskate to put bulletproof tyres on it

Vans are underrated in this game. Would welcome more customization options and the freedom to modify a Speedo / Rumpo / Burrito.

 

My old friend was so excited in getting one when we were going home in the middle of the night through a dark alley when we spotted this one van with the owner in it so I decided to call it a night and go while my friend approached the owner and see if he could buy it off him and maybe show him a tour inside.

 

Needless to say, my friend got attached to it so much that I never heard from him again. He was gone the next day, never answered his phone and when I went to check the alleyway where I last saw him, the van was gone too...

 

He must be having the time of his life now... Being attached to a van so much you just let go off everything and disappear with it...

 

I managed to snap a picture of it before I left though. It sure looked nice:

Cough you forgot about the BF Surfer that's a real van. Though it can carry only 2 people.
