Golf in this game is pretty fun, but unless you're playing it solo it takes forever cuz it seems like there's always at least one person in the group who uses almost the entire clock to take their shot. I'm @ 125 so I don't need the RP, but I'll probably play it once or twice this weekend...

Only ever played it to max my strength, and when I did it was only hole 6 over and over

I played a lot of golf when I first started.

 

Shooting under par guarantees at least 2000 RP, more if you're playing in a group, so it was a really quick way (playing solo anyway) to rank up and get access to the sniper and some other decent weapons.

 

Might play a few rounds with my second character this weekend if I get time

I would like to mention that I am not actually grinding the sh*t out of it. I posted earlier that I am mixing it in between missions because, yes it would get boring. Just saying that the RP after finishing a game is high and that if you were to grind it... That's a lot of RP, but very time consuming. Oh and I managed to get 7500RP tonight. Still no hole in one's, though.

I find it frustrating - I have max strength and nail the sweet spot on the bars, but the other guy drives 100yds further?

 

I accept there's wind, but damn I get outclassed and I have no clue why.

Likely two things. Shot type, LB/L1 cycles you through 4 different shot types, Normal, Power, Approach and Punch. The other is ball spin in the air. Use LS to choose your spin direction and tap A/X until the ball stops rolling. The longer drives are a combination of power shot and strong front spin. Side and back spin can be helpful in hooking your shot around trees, fighting the wind or getting a good roll on the green. You can also hook and slice while your power meter is filing by adjusting the LS left or right. Read the article in the quote below it is helpful info.
