Non Leathal Weapons

What would be your thoughts on non-lethal weapons? I find myself reading and experiencing a lot of controvercy over the inability to defend oneself against aggressors without gaining Mental Instability.

 

What if we had something like alternate ammo...maybe rubber bullets available for certain weapons so that if someone is aproaching we can pop them in the head and they go into the ragdoll animation as if like when you get hit by a car or something. It could incapacitate the person for a few seconds and allow you to make with an escape.

 

I can also see people using it to stun someone so they can move in for a melee kill...

However I can also see people using it to grief someone with a constant series of stuns...

 

Maybe there are better ideas out there or constructive feedback to develop the concept...

 

What are your "Defend myself" ideas?

I'd like a 'joke' weapon of some kind that you could fire at people but cause no damage, like a nerf gun or at water pistol. It would be hilarious to pop an officer in the face with a foam bullet and he pulls out a real gun and starts shooting.

No. Those rubber bullets have the same effect as the tazer meaning 5 crew dudes could surround you and keep shooting you until you're forced to leave the session.

I think your misunderstanding. Wanting to defend myself when attacked is not being a pussy. The problem becomes that if you stand your ground and kill the aggressor than your mental state goes up and the lunatic who attacked you unprovoked does not. So if you had a way to fend off the attack without killing them then you could salvage your sanity. But coming up with this sort of system leaves a lot of problems with griefing possibilities.

 

What if the method of stun has a long cooldown like you have to load each rubber bullet after a shot. One shot rifle type thing. Or a long range tazer that needs to be recharged or something. I don't know just brainstorming a bit.

 

I keep picturing in my head like an old bruce lee type movie where he takes out a bunch of people attacking him but rarely kills them...just knocked out. Lots of movie/TV characters are like that...even super heroes...they dont kill just defend.

 

What if stunning someone sends them to another server lol? Nah guess not.

The best way to avoid being trolled is to limit the amount of ammo/charges carried. R* doesn't seem to like limiting things tho.

Im not afraid of dying at all. But if your suggesting that I should just let people kill me rather than defending myself your a fool.

 

I am also not avoiding agression to keep my dot white. I am just naturally not aggressive in freeroam because it serves no purpose. I dont find it entertaining. With this natural stance my dot should remain white anyway...but if I am attacked I will defend myself. In doing so I dont feel that should make me mentally unstable. There is no way to differentiate an offensive kill from a deffensive kill so I am contemplating another way to make the difference.

 

Also I have kids older than half the people playing this game so please...

This is a GAME, it's NOT REAL, and the character isn't really you...it's an imaginary world and in the end, will mean nothing when the game goes offline for good one day or when you stop playing it...so either play the game like the game was meant to be played or quit

I agree that being aggressive in free roam is completely pointless,but fact is there are just too may [email protected]#holes out there who will go out of their way to ruin other player's fun.As this is only a game,I believe it is best to treat everyone as equal individuals regardless of sex or age,sometimes it take violence to solve violence,maybe the reason why rs gave us the option to buy a tank

I was one of those sporty kids back in the day with a good arm, always throwing the dodgeball in other kids their faces. Pretty asshole-ish.

5vs1 with any weapons would probably make someone leave the lobby.

And they had a dodge-ball tournament in middle school, we had the best baseball players on our team and we creamed the competition. That was the last year they had it, lol.
