Out of them all, old age has to be said. He had enough money and security to cruise the world and to be taking names where ever he went. Maybe even got himself another daughter somewhere to "replace" Mercedes

Wasn't that Johnny Klebitz's death scene? he was holding up to six bags of groceries to feed the entire brotherhood, and purchasing that huge teddy bear for Ashley was the straw that broke the biker's back!

So sad.

Nop, actually it was tampons Johnny did buy, man.

He won't likely visit shopping malls...those French buddies will always swam over the area!

Did I mention he went out of town to a shopping mall in Madison, Wisconsin?

He returns to his nameless Central American country of origin and is later extradicted to France where he's outed as an IAA asset and spends his remaining days in prison.

Doesn't make any sense.

He got lost on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere after a little accident on the yacht.

Lock n' Stock

I think he died peacefully, he'd done what he needed to do. I have to admit, Cortez was always a favourite character of mine as far as mission givers go. Very laid-back, trustworthy and respectful, the kind of guy who you'd have no problem assisting, unlike some asshole like Diaz or *cough* Vlad.

GTA.Wikia.com says that "in GTA: San Andreas, there is an announcement on WCTR News in the early segments of the game that a former Latin American dictator said that a government agency was supplying him with drugs. The dictator might be Cortez and the supplier might be Toreno, since he mentioned to Carl that he is "supplying overseas dictators and useful drug suppliers"".

So, we can suppose that he was still alive in 1992.

Great spot. I wouldn't have remembered that in a million years. Kudos.

I never, ever trusted Cortez. He was involved in f*cking up Vercetti's deal and was seasoned enough through coup after coup to effectively shift all the blame onto Diaz. Shame there weren't more little hints like this.

Actually that makes sense. Although Cortez sounded like a man stuck up to ethics, I mean he had a mysterious side. He secretly sounded like he knew business and he could do whatever it takes for business. However, I can't say I didn't like or trust Cortez. I don't know, in some other ways, he had been a great hand to Vercetti IMO, but unfortunately, your words have a great probability for being true.

It's even funnier how Cortez had artwork that you never saw ingame.

I never get it though. The artwork we keep seeing with Vice City, the one with the man holding his sunglasses, was that Cortez, Sonny Forelli, or Tommy Vercetti?

No, it was Gonzalez who informed the deal to Diaz. Not only did Cortez accurately concluded so, but it was later proven to be true in Vice City Stories.

It's part of the biggest irony in the story actually.

Protagonist Victor Vance met Gonzalez, who was secretly selling off portions of Cortez's coke to make a side profit. After Victor accidentally lost a van full of Gonzalez's coke, Gonzalez was helplessly cornered by local drug baron Riccardo Diaz.

Diaz blackmails Gonzalez on the situation, forcing him to inform from then on of Every dealings and transactions Cortez has in Vice City. Which includes, you've guessed it, that deal in the opening of Vice City, the one that got Victor Vance killed.

Irony thus is not only Victor Vance complicit in the whole event that made Gonzalez a snitch working for Diaz, but Victor even helped escorted Gonzalez out of the city, providing valuable protection when he was ambushed by waves of local streetwannabes gangs, the Sharks.

Victor Vance saved the man who would sell him out a couple years later.

Of course it was never specified whether Diaz was aware that he killed Victor, his "hero" as he puts it, considering how cheerfully he was to work with Lance Vance again.

Cortez had always been truthful and loyal to Vercetti ... which i'll agree is eerie on its own, but Vice City was full of characters just like that, all willing to lend a hand or being an ally to Vercetti.

So Cortez wasn't any different.

He looks considerably younger in this image.

Didn't Sonny wear a purple-coat with some Cheetah skin inside?
