Can constant freezing damage the console?

its driving me away from the game.

finding it hard to motivate myself enough to play the game knowing its just gonna freeze after five minutes

Agreed! Have pretty much stopped playing now.

I have been having the same freezes from GTA in other games and even apps and dashboard. At first I passed it off since I was playing Skyrim and Fallout since those freeze frequently to but then happened in Saints Row, Dashboard, YouTube and Deuz Ex.

My PS3 froze about 20-30 times since Feb. It was so annoying, that i started counting, from there to now, i had another 38 freezes. Sometimes it works 2-3 days without freezing once, and sometimes it is freezing 2-3 or 4 times a day. Can't believe R* isn't patching that.

I play on xbox, but I turn my console off every night with the power button.. I know I can do it with my controller but it's easier to just urn it off with the button. I've been doing it since I got this xbox in 2009. :p
