Well this is new...

I was playing rooftop rumble yesterday and I was chasing down the briefcase in my entity while two of my team mates where 2 blocks ahead of me. As I was entering the intersection by the LSC that's under the highway and near the ammonation, Im going full speed when I slammed into a car going across the street. Don't know the type, just a standard car and Pretty much T-boned the car dead center. Well instead of me spinning out or the car rolling over, the other car exploded immediately on impact. My car took no damage and I just drove under the flaming wreckage. This was the firs time anything like this has happened to me in gta and I was pretty surprised it did.

 

Has anyone else observed something like this before? I don't know if it's been in the game or post update 1.13 related.

No I think there's something to this, I've noticed it too. One time in particular I was doing Chemical Extraction and the van got hung up so I got out and got another car to push it down, but when I touched the front of the van it just exploded. It's happened a few times since the last patch.

Not sure if it's a bug or feature. Was driving around in a riot van on 1.12 and was just driving over the top of cars. Don't remember which one it was but I had it explode as I was driving over it but the riot van took no noticable damage.

It's happen to me before but on cars with a slanted roof so i kinda just picked em up and drove underneath em

That was one of the best things about a riot van. That and the free body armor for passengers.

I have a feeling that is more acceptable than a ramp like car taking out another and launching it in the air.

Although it does seem fun.

At the way I hit the car and speed we were going, they would have to be shooting behind them, away from the briefcase so that wouldn't be it.

I had an NPC Blista t-bone my Roosevelt and sent me flying (!), I think they may have tweaked peds' reactions or something. That thing was moooooving...

I have noticed that NPC cars go a lot farther when you crash into them. It is possible they have tweaked the mass value of player cars to do more damage to NPC cars when you collide with them.

the other day i was in a 5 star chase with the cops when all of the sudden there was huge explosion, all cop cars and helicopters exploded at once.

 

they wont spawn back allowing me to lose the wanted with ease, it was weird!

I think there is a change to the durability of NPC cars.

 

I was playing the new mission Master Data where you have to attack

the triads and steal the black Maibatsu Mule and deliver it to Lester and had

one of the Fugutives crash into the back of the truck and it exploded on contact.

 

Truck was fine and I carried on to complete mission.

Maybe it was just for missions that NPC vehicles take less damage then before? It was odd but pretty cool to see an I stands explosion from a collision.
