Game is unplayable now since last update

Okay this last update really f*cked things up. Online freezes when new players join, it freezes randomly as well, the creator freezes after a random amount of time, and now EVEN SINGLE PLAYER Freezes randomly. I cant even play the single player anymore. I play the game for a good 45 seconds and BAM FROZEN.

 

Anyone else having this same problem?

Same here, ever since the update I'm getting..

 

Freezing for 2-5 sec when I'm traveling at high speeds In a land vehicle.

Buildings , roads and other things not rendering.

Booted from session into single player.

Problems joining GTAO sessions from main menu and single player.

Problems getting into missions.

2 year old xbox slim.

I cant even get online, load up the game try for online and freeze when its loading. If its a private session it loads but when I hit any button or move or even cause the game freezes again.

We are all running the same systems. Same software, same hardware mostly. I say mostly as slight changes in hardware manufacturing but all same processing power. The random problem is not occurring over one batch but rather randomly across the board.

 

If it was one year make model you could blame Rockstar but it's not. My ps3 is about 4 years old and I have no problems. Some people with old have problems and some new.

 

So, you need to look at a few things. Hardware, maybe some people just have duds, it does happen. Maybe the DVD drive is just crapped itself. I've built computers and three months later my disk drive won't work on certain thing but fine on others.

 

Maybe a corrupt system file, look at windows and how it can become corrupt just because. Not rockstar fault.

 

Internet I'm not sure about. As a guy who I work with used to have his game freeze constantly. Every other game worked perfect, sp player perfect. We swapped games to see of it was his copy of Gta v. Three annoying weeks later his cd drive stopped working altogether. He got a new playstation. No freezing problems. Only issues is he is 4.9 km away from his ISP exchange and now he time out to normal single player.

you never freeze? do you play online? how often and for how long at a time?

 

Its much more of a common problem than you think and is definitely rockstars problem. i have two different ps3s and have played on different internet providers in different states and always had the random freezing. sometimes could play for days at a time or hours at a time without encountering the problem which is why lots of people think its not very common, they dont play often or long enough at a time to have it happen to them. I never had it before patch 1.11 and in patch 1.12 it was so bad i quit playing till this patch. It is 100 percent rockstar caused by bad code in patch 1.11

Okay, I'm "officially" on board with this thread and all others fed up with the lagging, freezing, blunt pausing, refresh/redraw issues, etc.

 

I'm sorry, Alarming, but if I'm experiencing these issues, it's more than likely others are too. And if they're experiencing them, then it stands to reason that hundreds, if not thousands – maybe more – are experiencing them, too.

 

We're not talking about a bad router or a weak WiFi connection, because things were fine for me prior to 1.12. Now, it's become even worse and the game is basically unplayable. The level of frustration and knowing, just knowing that there's going to be an issue is just too high and too frequent.

 

I'm staring at a gray screen right now. I pulled into my garage, character got out of the car, and FWAP!!! Hit with a gray screen.

 

This, of course, is different from the race I was just where I went from 1st place to 15th when my screen froze for a few moments, leaving me dining on the dust of other racers.

 

I don't have any idea how they will fix these issues, but I sincerely hope they do and soon. For now, I'm spending less and less time online and more and more time finding other things to do. It's the one thing that will hurt Rockstar more than anything else – lack of user interest.

I really could be assed if I lost 100grand on GTAV.

If it's affecting the minority then it clearly isn't their problem. If it was affected the majority then it would be their problem.

 

Frankly, I couldn't care less about the people on this forum that have this freezing problem because they seem to be the asses that cry about anything and everything and then when you question their opinion they go berserk acting like you've murdered their whole family.

 

I'm just surprised this thread hasn't been locked or merged with the other "official" game freeze topic.

2. (Not my theory) I'm pretty sure within the launch week R* advised people to only install the install disc (disc 1?) and not both as it would cause problems with the game.

3. (again not my theory) It's something to do with the RAM

4. Scratched disk

5. conflicting or damaged data

6. Back in the tow truck days me and my friends experience freezes frequently. As you can tell by the date that I joined this forum I wasn't on here to see if others had the problem so I don't know if this was an isolated problem or a bigger group of people. If you haven't already guessed the tow trucks cause the freezing in these days.

 

Anyway, not as related to the quote but still related, Youtube channels that will make a video about anything and everything *cough* Machinima, IGN *cough* aren't reporting about mass freezes in GTA it's safe to say it isn't the game. Not to mention Youtubers that do a lot of GTA related stuff online (the guys at CVG, Vanos, Dom, BossFTW, James, iCrazyTeddy, ect..) don't have the problem of freezing and if they do freeze it isn't as bad as people make it out to be on here.

 

Not to mention if it was the game and it was as bad as people make it out to be then my longest session wouldn't be over and hour, hell it wouldn't be over 30 mins.

 

If you really think it's the game and it bugs you then stop playing it.

If you're going to complain that you shouldn't stop playing because you've spent money on it then sell the game.

I've just become victim of losing the added DLC weapons for no apparent reason, mid session, after finishing a 1v1 DM.

(This is on my second character). Think I'll just hold off buying any more until the Heist update/ next patch.

i have been freezing once to thrice per night depending on how much i can tolerate, i dont know why its suddenly so bad but im even freezing as soon as i join a session

Still freezing on PS3 after doing a clean install of GTA V to the Hard disk and re-downloading the updates and making configuration changes to my router to go from a Strict to Moderate NAT.

 

I have said it before and will say it again, I along with most people only started freezing after Update 1.11 (PS3 was purchased with GTA V as a package so is only as old as GTA V; I had never owned one before GTA V) , and worrying about what was going on is the whole reason I found these forums in the first place. Console limitations aside, the lynch pin for the freezing becoming more prevalent was whatever R* changed in terms of coding, server configuration settings and similar after Update 1.11.

 

All those saying it is only affecting a minority, from what I have read a large percentage of frequent posters on this forum who had joined PRIOR TO the issue first appearing are reporting the issue so claiming it is affecting only the minority of players seems unfounded.

froze last night after 20 minutes. in a session by myself.

havent played in a few days but as soon as i was able to thats what happened.

 

- load up gta while i finish smoking

- swap characters and go into a closed session

- buy a new bmx cause ones about to be destroyed

- go down the street to clear a freeway gap

- missed and landed on the rocks by the water

- started jumping up the rocks to get back up to the street

I was having freezing issues up the ass the past two weeks, couldn't even go 5 minutes without it freezing multiple times in a row.

 

They had to have done something because over the past few days I haven't had any issues with freezing at all. From as far as I can tell its been fixed, but I haven't seen any updates or anything so it must've been ninja'd in.

Here's how you actually stop freezing...

 

Go cry about your freezing problem to R* and see how much they care.

When you realise they don't care stop playing the game.

If you can't put up with not playing the game then sell it.

Now that you've sold the game you wont be able to play it so you can't have this freezing problem that is experienced by the minority.

Thats impossible as the servers group you with people you know. I freeze in 30 seconds to 4 minutes

 

Go to public server, loading screen (3/4 it freezes there), if not loading in from clouds coming down to location in garage, BAM frozen.

Game froze last night, I just got the HPV and got to LSC. Painted it.... drove towards the garage....got half way there and WHAMMY! That was it. So annoying. I wanna play but I don't wanna start anything big and lose money
