Game is unplayable now since last update

The update finally killed my ps3. The freezing is so horrible it made my ps3 ylod. After 6 years of gaming with no problems, it finally died down....

Put your save games in the cloud storage and delete every bit of gta data on your hd and reinstall the whole game plus updates to an external hd. Helped me out a little.

 

And clear both the storage cache and the game

my ps3 crashed on the load up screen last night. right after the sirens started.

 

this was a first.. and the first crash in a while too.

 

when i plugged it back in, it had to check and restore file system once again. after that it let me get into a public session with 3 people for like 20 minutes before kicking me back to story mode due to an unknown network error.

I've been getting network errors a heap lately, usually freeze 3-4 times a day and times out quite a bit.

 

Anyone else get signed out and have to sign back in? It's happening to a few friends as well, quite frustrating but may be unrelated.

I couldn't join or host missions last night. After each attempt of either of the two, my character would lock up and refuse to move until I died. I could see my mini-map moving around as if I were moving though. I had to have a buddy kill me or use the suicide feature. I was able to access the select menu.

Yeah thats the only way I can play but sometimes I cant even do that as SINGLE player freezes within 5 seconds if I dont access online private room fast enough.

I stopped playing entirely, this has to f** up my ps3 somehow.

 

Still this is the only game it happens with. I can pop disks from years ago and it plays them fine.

I don't know if just the frozen issue, or if it's a problem with the integrity way apartment, but everytime I try to enter the apartment my game freezes; but I'm still able to enter my garage. I tried solo mode and it still freezes when I try to enter the apartment from either outside or through the garage.

Its unplayable... I'm driving my Surfer because anything else is too fast to render backgrounds

I wouldnt say its unplayable but yes very very frustrating it seems like rockstar is watching me and waits untill my crew and i are all set up for something epic then separates us all

Odd, my game used to freeze every 5-10 minutes, then I cleared my cache and deleted a bunch of useless crap off my hard drive and...ah who am I kidding, it still freezes at least 3-4 times a session.

 

One thing I noticed is that it tends to freeze more often when I'm playing with friends, just the other day I was free roaming by myself for several hours without even the slightest hint of lag or freezing.

 

I have never had SP freeze.

 

 

I'm on 360 btw.

since the patch i was freezing once a day, on monday i had an epic 6 hour session without a single freeze, then on tuesday i freeze 4 times in a mere 2 hour, 3 on wednesday-thursday and once yesterday.

 

i have been solo in invite only testing cars and i have frozen there too.

 

timeouts and "unknow connection errors" are rampant too.

On ps3 here, my game freezes at least once a day since last update, probably closer to 3 or 4 a day. Just had it happen five minutes ago, while pressing down twice to bring the map up looking for players around me. It's usually little things like that. As I type this I see massive amounts of players leaving the session. Might freeze again

Yeah, it's broken. Getting 3-4 network errors and timeout before I can even join a session. Even single player now freezes.

 

And environments don't load/render properly/fast enough, causing more freezing...

 

And it's getting worse with every "update".

I think they should delete an update or 2 because i think that's whats causing the problem, the console can't handle too much content for one game i guess.

 

Edit: Just froze 2mins into the game after deleting all Updates/Reinstalling and cache, I HATE YOU R*!!!

problems started in 1.11 for me and 1.12 was near unplayable but its much better for me now, i still freeze but not near as often, in the previous patch i froze every 5 minutes. deleting everything and rebuilding your system doesnt help, the problem is 100 percent on rockstars end. i have two ps3s and ive done everything include resinstalling the whole game fresh on both and they both still freeze randomly.

I do not freeze. Haven't in a long time. I blame crapped out old consoles, your mistreatment of the game disk, you've installed the game to your HDD or your Internet is slow.

I did notice that i freeze much more often it seems like if i try to play with friends and crew and join their sessions either from an invite or from the in game friend list. way less freezing with no friends or crew in session it seems like, then again sometimes i can play for hours with them with no problems either.

I noticed it freezes more during the day. between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. the game is unplayable. my window to playing online is between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. it runs smooth during those two hours. but who wants to play with the French or those british tween wankers. the rest of the time you might get 30 minutes of playtime before the game freezes.

 

a sure way to freeze your game is to try and get revenge. say you spawn after a mission and some guy runs you over. the second you are about to kill that player your game will freeze.

 

I have a new system, flawless disc, no hdd installed and my internet is fine. the game still froze before I played for more than five minutes. the problem is on rockstar's end. not ours.
