What triggers negative mental state?

I'm really not sure I understand how it works right now from what I've seen, aside from killing other players and destroying their PV, you can get negative mental state for killing random NPCs, destroying your own PV and I think I got a notification for even killing and destroying cop cars. So, do all these give you a negative mental state? and also are there more idiotic circumstances where you can raise your negative mental state? Sorry if I asked a question that is already asked on this thread I cbf'd looking for it through all these new threads, I'll settle for a link to other threads that have answered my queries thanks.

Killing NPCs and blowing any vehicle up will worsen your mental state.

Even if you blow up your car, plane or heli near NPC´s your level raises....

Yes, but from what I've noticed, if you do anything that isn't PvP related (killing other human players, etc) the mental state stat doesn't go up very fast at all, and it cools down very quickly.

 

I assume that if you attack players and raise it that way, it will have a longer cool off time and it will raise a lot faster.

 

I got off yesterday after having a massive police chase, killed a lot of civilians and cops, my mental state was barely into the first bar, maybe an 1/8 of the bar. When i got on today, my mental state was back to empty/0
