It's not hackers lol. The game will freeze randomly no matter what xbox u have and no matter if u on SP or MP, invite or solo, crew or public...

 

Hell, before I ever even used gta online, it froze constantly in SP.

I've never frozen in sp, I can't even fathom it to be honest.

None of my other games freeze either, its just something that doesn't happen ever; so when the scourge of freezing hit gta online I was pretty flustered.

Online hasn't frozen for me in close to two weeks I think now..so hopefully the worst is behind me, It had some consistent freezing around 1.11, and 1.12, but it only went on for a short period each time.

Nonetheless it felt endless and horrible.

The RAM memory is simply full. This happens because of cell loading.

 

This is also why there is pop up.

I always thought it was internet connection. Then it was much more common after 1.11 was live.

I only freeze in freeroam, I actually froze in the apartment of LPGTO the other day just walking around, interested to know if she froze at the exact same time. I didn't have a single freeze until 1.11 and I had 20 days play time by then. Since then I freeze at least once an hour.

No, I mean evidence. That's when the hard freezes started happening for the vast majority of people who experience these hard freezes. If you have experienced the occasional freeze since day one, then you probably aren't getting it due to the same reason as most people are. Yours is most likely caused by either your internet connection, or your console.

Most people though, experienced little to no freezing prior to patch 1.11, but have had it repeatedly since. This points to something buggy being in that patch.

As for evidence? A quick Google search will tell you that these freezes didn't become epidemic until around patch 1.11.

I started V on a fat 60gb that died (disk drive issue that had been getting worse since before v came out, and had been replaced once already) and now on a slim (40gb originally i think, brought it 2nd hand with a 200gb hdd) and as I said, have not had a proper freeze once.

 

Being a pc gamer too, I have seen issues of all sorts, usually its either an issue with the game itself, and everyone suffers the issue.. EVERYONE, or it is an individuals issues (ie their ram is broke or they click dodgy porn links and don't maintain their system).

 

Ofc it isn't as black and white as that, it never is.. On pc it could be (and usually is) one model of gfx card runs a game terribly and needs a driver, or the game is awful on a certain update of xx Os. In these case the numbers of people suffering the problem are ofc alot less and seemingly random untill the cause established.

 

It looks like that's the case here, only issue with that for me, is that there are a hell of a lot less hardware/driver configs across the 2 consoles?

Fair enough, if that's the case then that's the case. I still see little difference myself in the issue from day 1 up until today. It's got better, if anything, but there have been changes in variables that you mention. I'm on a different PS3 now than I was last year, and I've also moved house and get my internet from a different exchange. I see no connection problems occurring since 1.11, but that's just my experience. Guess I'm just lucky.

I have my own uneducated guesses as to what might be the cause. Of course, they're just my own opinions.

 

I think the problem might be in the Creator. I know at least for me, my freezing started around the time I created a slew of races right after patch 1.11. I know that patch addressed some issues with the Creator. It would be interesting to know if the freezing problem is occurring with people that have published their own creations.

I freeze sometimes, typically during firefights or while driving quickly in a car. Last time it froze I was in the Lazer flying over Vinewood and I hit the pause menu to look at the map and the console froze up.

...and regardless, you can still be erroring like crazy through your ISP, even if it seems that your connection is fine...

I froze maybe 2 or 3 times in total before this last update. Now I freeze around 4-5 times per day.

Brand new slim 500gb, it came with the game in a bundle. It's only ever played GTA, no other game has been placed in the console.

360 Slim Halo Reach Edition. I get freezes at least once every time I try to play. Only happened since 1.11.

PS3 *Cough* 12Mb, Slim (the one where the disc door slides when you press the button, I forgot its name) bought before October. Probably in late July. Anyways freezing in Online is extremely rare here. SP = freeze-free. I probably only froze like......6 or so times. Since Patch 1.11. Maybe because of my region? Dunno. I live in Libya (but I put it as Lebanon in my PSN account because stupid Sony forgot to add my country in the list) so probably that's the reason.

This. Neither SP or Online. Hell I never even froze in V or even got serious lag. The only times the game lags crazy is when I crash the Cargo Plane somewhere. (don't ask me how to get this)

Before I start, I don't know much in this side thing in technology, so I may make some mistakes.

 

Anyways, I believe this is the problem. I only own GTA IV and V, and never got any problem. (Only problem I have, is I'm forced to format my damn PS3 just to play either one of these games, but whatever)

 

Plus I never ran into any major pop ups (sure there is, but not as crazy. The only time I get these out is when I'm flying the Cargo Plane which is so rare nowadays) So I guess the RAM is the main problem.
