missions that have turned frustratingly hard since update

They've def rammed up the difficulty. Tried playing The Parking Garage yesterday on Hard with some randoms, and got killed twice by highly accurate shots. Before the patch, I could solo the mission on the same setting with no life lost.

 

I assume you're using auto aim aswell, and if you do, you can EASILY kill off all the guys on the roof with one magazine of the assault shotgun.

Just go behind that wall where you can drive up with your car and just surprise kill them by shooting every enemy just once with the assault shotgun from one side to the other, just wipe throug. Most of them will instantly die but those who don't will most likely fall on the ground or won't be able to shoot back for some seconds so you can take care of them after you've hurt each one first.

You gotta wipe through fast though, or all fo them will aim at you and then it's gonna be very annoying... You may not aggro them before you do the shotgun attack.

 

Cannot explain it better, but I think it's possible to understand :)

 

Then, you could either call a chopper on the roof or just drive with a relatively fast vehicle to lester, ignore the guys who chase you.

Might be because I'm an older gamer...but aren't you SUPPOSED to be challenged by a video game? I mean...what's the point of playing a game that isn't challenging? I can't for the life of me understand how so many people can bitch about the difficulty being upped. Mind you, these are all the same people who were saying "There's nothing to do in GTAO" and "The missions are all boring". Now R* made the missions interesting by increasing the difficulty, and LOW AND BEHOLD these same people are bitching about it being to hard.

 

If you fall into that category...it's time you retired from GTAO and find something else more your speed to play. Period.

I'm an older gamer too (39) and trust me, this isn't just "kids crying" about the game. I love a good challenge too, but Stocks & Scares on Hard difficulty isn't challenging it's IMPOSSIBLE to complete it solo. Try it out for yourself if you don't believe me LOL.

If Stocks and Scares has constant respawning enemies.. people could just farm RP this way right?

I guess you could, but the cost of ammo spent would FAR outweigh the little bit of RP that you'd get from each kill.

You can carry up to 10 Super Heavy Armor's in your inventory now. With that, a lot of missions are easier now.

I tried Potshot solo (as usual) on hard last night. Now, I do this mission all the time with a very high success rate but I definitely notice it's a lot harder since tuesday. For example, the standard way to quickly finish is to block bridge, kill driver, take van. easy. But now no matter how I position the car or how early i start firing at the driver, the van smashes into the blocking vehicle so fast that it either sends your vehicle flying or the van just power-drives right over top of your vehicle! I tried 5 times and only managed to block the van once.

I welcome the increased difficulty. Now tactics and teamwork are even more important to completing Hard Jobs. I kinda feel bad for people who aren't in active crews and have to work with randoms though, because the terms "Tactics" and "Teamwork" are foreign terms to the average GTAO player.

Nah still requires no real tactics.

Even with the buff the missions are still very easy and simple.

The Crystal Clear Out trio all had the irregular spawn dudes. It happens when there is more than one player.

However, Los Santos Connection now has the irregular spawn dudes in front of the Pegasus hangar in the third part of the mission. This never happened until after the update.

Has anyone noticed that some of these changes were happening for some and not for others before the update was released? I'm under the impression that they are making gradual changes and then announcing them in the next update.

I like a well organized system with a good challenge.....but NPC spawning behind you with a combat shotgun...challenge? no, poor game design...

 

and how does making enemies spawn non stop make it challenging? it just makes it frustrating imo

As I've stated before, I absolutely loathe what they did to Dry Docking and S&S, which were 2 of my favourite missions. Consistantly respawning enemies that show up behind you, in front of you, etc. etc. is the worse possible way to amp up the difficulty. You want to make them harder? By all means, but do it right. Make the AI smarter, user better tactics, pick better spawn points and spawn events. DON'T just keep flooding us with endless enemies. There is a big difference between giving us a challenge, and frustrating the f*ck out of us.

And, if you're gonna amp up the difficulty, boost the payout.

I did Crystal Clear Out 2 & 3 solo earlier, it doesn't seem to be that much harder, had to use snacks and two body armours though but that was mainly down to my poor positioning.

potshot has to be the easiest mission in the game. kill 3 guys, grab the van, and drive to the destination. im pretty sure i played it tuesday and beat it no problem

I really wish that I could like this post twice LOL! It's not just the endless flood of enemies who are obviously ex-Navy SEALS judging from their accuracy, it's the fact that they constantly spawn in all directions that's really frustrating. Being in a firefight and having an enemy spawn right behind you isn't challenging, it's frustrating as f'ck!

stocks and scares is the one that pops into my head at the moment. a couple crew mates and i tried playing that on hard last night and couldn't beat it even though we played it 4-5 times lol.the fifth time we played it they left in the middle and i almost beat it but i couldn't get out the damn door to go to my car because guys kept spawning non stop. any other missions that they up'ed the difficulty so it's so hard it's kinda frustrating?

Just tried to run through it solo (if we're talking about the same mission...). No dice. You literally can't crack the safe because Merryweather goons keep respawning and rushing your location while you're locked in the safe-cracking animation. You can get out of it and kill them, but they'll be on top of you again as soon as you try the safe again.

 

That said, I'm ain't even mad. I used to solo damned near every mission without ever dying. Not because I'm a badass, but because they were hella easy. Not so much now. It's actually kinda fun.

 

 

i managed to open the door and safe by myself. then got shot trying to get out the door.

I agree it's the easiest. After the van rammed my car I still finished the mission. My point (and OP's point) is that R* upped the difficulty throughout the enire game.

The gang attack at Sandy Shores Airfield. There are now several thugs that come at you from different directions opposite the hanger. I find this annoying cause I never start it intentionally. Just there to pick up my aircraft.

i've never parked my car on the bridge, i always park my car on the only road out of that area and shoot the guy after he get's off the bridge

This. How long did people think they'd let us exploit the living sh*t out of Rooftop Rumble?? That mission probably got done millions of times a day. Y'all didn't think someone would notice and take measures to balance it out?

 

 

Rooftop Rumble still isn't even balanced though. It just takes a bit longer.

am i the only person who is glad missions aren't just walks in the park any more? i enjoy them much more now and i'm playing missions with low payouts because they are actually fun now they're difficult.

I'd rather spend time brushing up my gun skill & tactics or use a tank or buzzard when all else fails rather than complain that this or that mission is too hard :lol:

this is very true,my "tactic" was to slip in stealthy on the other side of the warehouse and flank the mercs steal the black big rig and pick up my teammate to escort him to Lester's,but i cant do it alone anymore after this update....my crew-mates have groaned every-time i send a invite to it now

as to the "training people for heists" maybe,and maybe it's a last ditch effort to sell shark cards before they release heists, by making missions so frustrating we avoid playing them on hard for the big payout or avoid them all together,and then add in the "mental stability" factor that is throwing gasoline on a 4alarm fire in the war-zone that is free roam.....this is my paranoid speculation anyway

im def not a cash card conspiracy type... I've never made a posit about them...

but i feel like this is solid proof that rockstar really don't want us making any money...

the only mission I've played since the update was chemical extraction... and it was so tough... we used to beat it with 2 players... then kept failing with a full 6 players... til we finally resorted to a tank and a buzzard to complete it

 

i haven't tried , but i think trash talk with a buzzard might be the new farming mission...
