that's one thing i love about modding. it makes cars rare

 

here are my 2 phoenixes. The Rockford has the spoiler removed with a custom license plate, while the Bandit has gold stock wheels, my custom crew emblem and a custom plate as well. All of the bandit's mods were done with a legit acquired car. Only the spoilerless phoenix was duped (from a friend who duped it from someone who probably SP -> MP'd it in). I modded it into the Rockford by changing the plate using charles proxy and changing the wheel style and car color.

With this most recent update (1.13) the F620 (among others) was added to the SSA site. Now, I believe one of the only remaining rare cars is the Buffalo MK2 (which is only glitched in) and the Romero Hearse (cool but boring to drive and mod). Is this a good thing, having the vehicles available to everyone or do you miss the days feeling special driving around in something you had to really hunt for, something you don't see often on the streets?

 

I think this is a bummer.

Same. I finally got the convertible version and it becomes available for purchase 2 days later. Same with the F620. Next morning, it's on the site.

 

I still have my Tailgater though. And a couple of other rarish vehicles.

 

Same for me I spent a LOT of time trying to find a Sentinel XS convertible and was annoyed when you can now buy one.. EAD rockstar

The Kalahari which you can buy but I've yet to see anyone driving one.

 

There's also a clean low rider that can be found but I'm forget the name of that one. You find rusty versions of it in sandy beach area.

 

Clean Rebel has an almost infallible spawn.There's a thread regarding it somewhere.

 

It spawns on the beach in the Mount Chilliad area where the surfer spawns etc

I consider the tailgater and voodoo semi rare. They both have set spawn points, but no set time.

 

The Buffalo MkII, and Roosevelt are rare for the fact that you can no longer obtain these cars. There might still be a SP>MP glitch floating around out there somewhere though. I'm not sure anymore.

 

The rarest SPAWNING car in GTAO is the hearse. That's because it only spawns if someone in the lobby drives by it's set spawn point in one. Otherwise it is a car that is unobtainable.

i found a sentinel convertible back in 2013 and never saw one again, but i didnt feel anything while driving it because how would i know if someone else knows whats rare and whats not?

You take advantage of glitches, then complain non bloody stop about the game having bugs and glitches.

 

Duh.

 

 

Anyway. I have only seen the hearse once. It wasn't a good experience, it was chrome and had Dolla Sign wheels on it. So.. yeah. Never knew they existed until then.

The F620 has never been rare, it's just as common as all the common cars, always has been. Tailgater, bagger, nemesis, bagger, daemon, voodoo, non gang hardtop Tornado are all fairly hard to get. What do you mean the deamon is the only bike you can't buy anyway? did they add the bagger and nemesis into the shop? I'll sell them if they did .

I've got a Nemesis that I'll probably overwrite soon. With 40 cars total, there's basically no chance I'll use a middling performance on-road/offroad bike that I can't win races with. I used to hunt rare cars too, it was a fun part of the game, if a bit tedious. Reminded me of the GTAIII days, where every single car could be brought to the import/export docks, and when you got them all you'd have a spawn for them anytime you wanted.

 

I think it would be cool to have some kind of achievement for having put a tracker on every storable vehicle. I'm probably almost there. I saw that there was some kind of Facebook notification for "every car driven" but I don't f*ck with that profile sharing stuff. Would be cool if it had some kind of reward in-game.

Now that I have more room, I have all these cars in my new garage except the Snipe and Hearse. I enjoy rigging up the Mariachi Tornado with car bombs and leaving it in a populated area... EVERYONE tries to steal it and they never get far! HAHA

 

What is the Snipe anyways?? Never heard of it

The Hardtop Tornado is not rare - it spawns in the Families area very easily if you know what you're doing, it's on a spawn rotation. I'd class it as Uncommon, not rare.

Also, the hell is a Karin Snipe? The Intruder?

I'm really sad that the Sentil XS is no longer rare =/

You are missing the point... being able to buy them negates "rarity" by a certain definition.

 

 

 

 

Phoenix is not rare and neither is the BF Surfer.

Well you can't buy them online, and they dont appear often. Splitting hairs i guess.

 

 

BF Surfer has a fixed spawn, so it is not rare.

 

To acquire a Phoenix all you have to do is keep switching sessions at the Docks until one pops up. Hardly any effort.

 

You make a good point about the fixed spawn point. I still think the Phoenix counts, if you have to switch sessions over and over that makes it difficult to acquire (I think it was upwards of 10 swaps for me to see it the one time I tried via this method)...

 

I guess this begs the question, what does "rare" mean? The Tailgater is the obvious paragon of rare as it is available in-game without any glitching/exploiting, however it is truly uncommon to have it spawn. But where does the Mariachi stand? Like the BF Surfer it also has a fixes and reliable spawn point, but it is in a remote location and involves a few actions to acquire. I truly believe different players have different experiences, as I have seen a lot of "you idiot, F620s aren't rare, I see them ALL THE TIME." But this is my favorite car in the game, and one i used a while back to do the an old LSC glitch... I would occasionally lose it and getting it back was a bitch. Mostly. Yes, once it was right outside my building just waiting to be stolen, but more often than not (every other time) it took a day or many more to re-acquire the whip. I will remove the BF surfer from the list, but I don't feel so good about removing the Phoenix.
