You won't find them anywhere. As far as I know textures are applied from coach texture. Dunno why tho'.

coach texture.. so If I use coach texture they should pop up right ??

 

edit : around page 45-46 I found police car, bus and cheetah, with their proper texture. Had to delete txd.img to make them display properly

Anyways, I downloaded these vehicle.dff files you uploaded to mega.nz. I assume you extracted these models from vehicles.dff?

 

What about replacing these cars? If there's a model named dyablo.dff (without it's .txd file) all I have to do is change that .dff to infernus.dff then drop it in gta3.img? Or do I have to get separate .txd file (from coach/bus) or I just leave infernus original .txd file?

 

After switching dff files rims remain the same as in original version (instead of rims which appear on every car on their renders). Models ain't complete aswell when I look at them through GGMM :(

The cars uploaded in the archive are all the cars from the file. No other car means it isn't in the file.

 

The files were uploaded just as-is, so don't expect me to complete them or something. If anyone wants to do that, go ahead. I'm not going to do that.

 

They can be implemented in the game but you have to do the txd by yourself. Even then, there will be collision bugs which can be fixed but takes time. Finally, the data lines need to be slightly tweaked. That's why they don't have the sport wheels.

Basically an improved version of Aztecas' Bobcat, this time with real BETA grilles and headlights from LCS, as seen in this pic:

Also original Bobcat smoothing (thanks to The Hero's tool) and a 256x256 retexture to keep it in line with some other cars from around that time (Cabbie, Beamer).

 

If anyone wants a release, drop a comment on this thread. I'm sure some of you would like to see it ;)

These cars were already in that dff. Basically Every car shown in the Alpha (+ some BETA pics), along a few more CA cars and the Dodo/Heli, is there.

What makes me wonder is if .dff files extracted from vehicles.dff (and uploaded to mega.nz by you) are complete or if is there something else hiding in that file.

 

Because either vehicles.dff contains all cars from pre-release version and perhaps some of them are yet to be extracted (and unknown to us), or all files have been already extracted (making car renders searching by it's name useless) or last but not least, all available models were extracted from vehicles.dff, leaving nothing else to find and there are unknown renders waiting to be found, and making R* play with us again.

Never said I don't believe you. And yeah, Hero's post on this page confirms my words. There are still plenty of cars hidden in that file.

Here is something I noticed: Cars in the beta (post-Capital Autos) also had different door card and seat textures.

A darker version of the door card texture can be found in the Xbox version of the Cabbie's "cabbie8bit128" texture (top-left corner):

And the (incomplete) seat texture can be found in the Xbox versions of some vehicles' textures (in this case, the taxi's "taxi8bit128" texture, next to the door card):

That's quite a juicy U-Jerk / Bobcat you got there! Where is the HD grille and headlight texture taken from? Also, you may have to see my post about the interior for the real beta one, but I am not sure if the interior textures seen in my post were used.

Waifu2X wonders. A good resizer which I'm using in case I can't find any HQer version of a texture. And yeah, I seen it. XBOX contains several HQer counterparts of the original textures (not counting custom lights). Bobcat uses some of these as base.

The beta texture you have on the Bobcat's front fascia may have been originally brighter, since car textures (and other textures) in LCS and VCS were slightly darkened.

 

This is what I mean (bobcat8bit128 shown):

Did you notice how the LCS texture is a bit darker? You may want to kick up the brightness / contrast a bit on the headlight and grille texture on the beta Bobcat.

UPDATE: Better Rocket and Esparanto textures available below.

 

So, I decided to check out the Rocket / Testeros, one of the models from the alpha / beta Vehicles.dff file, in ZModeler, but, as it didn't have any textures, it came up like this:

Notice the missing texture names on the bottom? I added some .tga textures (undercarriage, engine, badging), but obviously, the main texture (rocket128) was missing.

So, I put the "cheetah8bit128" image from the Xbox version of GTA III in place of "rocket128", but the texture fit badly after doing so.

So, I started to rebuild the "rocket128" texture, and this is how it came out in the end:
