Mental Stat Problem

I really hate to say it this way because it'll make me sound full of myself: but, if you need to kill cops to get away from them, even at 5 stars, you need more practice.

I like the idea of the psychos being red coloured, most people will confuse them for bounties and go for them, I do think this was planned.

Also, if you think you're a passive player, but you go around killing a bunch of pedestrians, well... yeah. I'm a passive player and I actually avoid running over pedestrians while driving.

If mental state goes all the way up it should disable your ability to see other players with a white dot on the map. I think that'd be epic.

Not a big fan, its convenient for kno king who the douchebags are, but unfortunately I am a psycho at the moment. I'm usually a nice guy, I don't f*ck with anyone, but I got the new super car this morning, and my douchebag crew member decided to blow me up, I asked him if he know the point of crews, and he sent me a childish bullsh*t message, kinda pissed me off, so I killed his ass 20 times to his 1.. it only seem logical to f*ck his sh*t up. But now I'm a psycho, everyone's chasing me, I can't fight back because I don't want to prolong my psychotic rep, every time they blow my car up I have to pay for it, and from the past 3 hours I'd say its going to be a while before I'm no longer a psycho.. the cool down kinda sh*tty.

grand theft spaghetti

i figured most players would end up psychos after five minutes.

id love to see the mental state on the police officers that drive into traffic, run down other cops and then suicide bomb players.

OK, so I just did some test to see actually how much NPC you need to kill to get 1 bar.

I kill all the NPC on foot and using the wall glitch so basically I shoot non-stop.

Result, I need killing 142(94 cops and 48 swats) npcs for just 1 bar, I guess it may be 150 just I can't see the bar is fill or not.

I think it is acceptable, I used almost 15 minutes using glitch to kill npc, and I only got like 2.2 bars.

I have full mental state after killing about the same, even pretty sure it was less than that. Makes no sense!

You killed someone 20 times just because he blow you and your super car up one time(I guess he pay, right?) and send some BS message to you, and you claim yourself a nice guy?

Oh my god...

That's correct. He was a douche, he is a crew member and trying to kill me, so I f*cked his sh*t up, if I see him again I'll jump right back to psycho mode. Yes, I am a nice guy, I never kill random people, but when someone pick me out to f*ck with I f*cking rape them. Its what griefers deserve. And if I'm to be a psycho for teaching a douchebag a valuable lesson then so be it ;)

I just did Rooftop Rumble twice solo but didn't deliver the document (first time I was runover by an NPC and then I accidentally crashed the Lazer...), giving a total time of about an hour doing the 2 missions, and I learned a few things:

1) You can't blow up your own tank in Rooftop Rumble, you have to drown it
2) Fort Zancudo is empty, but you can still get the jets
3) Your Mental State doesn't go up no matter how many NPCs you run over and blow up with your tank
4) Your Mental State goes down, at my previously discovered rate of about 3 hours per segment, making it about 15 hours for the level to go down completely
5) It gets a bit boring when the police don't turn up to try and kill you
6) It is possible to complete Rooftop Rumble using just a tank, the tricky bit is not destroying the document in the process of wiping out the baddies :)

My major beef with this bullsh*t stat is that sometimes you want to go ape sh*t on NPCs or other players, whilst a short time later you want to have a drive around and be 'sociable' but now you've got this blasted "SHOOT ME I'M A PSYCHO!!!" red dot over your head that takes over half a day in real time to completely disappear.

Seems you have to want to be a Psycho in order to get the label by killing NPCs. If your normal gameplay consists of killing all the NPCs you come across, or fighting the cops instead of evading, you MAY get a bar of Psycho. Keep it up to get all the bars and fool people into thinking you are a badass Psycho. Or if you don't usually kill a bunch of NPCs and RPG cops cars for the fun of it you will keep your white dot status and the Psychos can know where u are.

Please think for one second. Why shouldn't you be labelled as a Psycho if you had a battle with cops? Please think in a realistic approach for once. Did you kill 10, 15 cops? In REALISTIC therms you're a f*ckin Psycho and you must accept it. It's common sense. I don't understand that "I'm a passive guy till I start shooting other human players" point of view. I really don't. This is a clever filter, period.

You can reference my former post for your answer.

It has been said before in this thread, cops are aggressive and it's actually one of the number 1 complaints in the game and it has felt like they're getting even more aggressive.

So you're saying that I bought Grand Theft Auto but the game plans to punish me for doing what I purchased it for? That makes negative logic.

But saying that they put a stat in to keep players from randomly killing each other in lobbys. Okay, now I get it. That unfortunately isn't happening here.

I don't see how this stat was for anything other than making violent players red on the map. It is working as intended.

Did you need a stat to tell you that a random player may kill you? The white and red dots can kill you and often will.

It's only working as intended because you're not red yet. Lets hear your story when you're on the other side.

Of course I understand that but I can't agree at all. Being a "Psycho" is not related with killing NPC's or human players. It seems pretty logical to me that is related with the fact that you're focused on killing. No matter who is your target.

And subsequently it is not of huge use because it mixes two different pieces of information into one stat. May as well mark us all as Psycho because we all kill NPCs.

There is the problem with your argument. We do NOT all kill NPC's on the same level. I would be willing to bet if you compared my NPC kills to yours there would be a huge difference. People who are the types to want a passive only server vary quite a bit but in large part are much less agressive than I think you can even grasp as a concept. I have people in my racing crew who have less than 100 kills total. They just dont get involved in combat. There are a lot of people who dont go around doing cop rampages or killing random peds...THOSE are the players who will remain as white dots even through this system. They will hopefully be matched up with other passive type people and will be essentially out of the way of the rest of the base of players willing to shoot things up a bit. No one is being punished for fighting, more like being rewarded by getting "the whiney sims pussies" out of the way...not my words lol.

Non spycho type players never have the urge to go apesh*t on other players or NPC's.

And if you do have multiple personalities...you also have multiple character slots.

I happily accept there are people who are more passive than me and those that are more aggresive. I consider myself passive in the sense I don't seek out other players to kill. I am not passive when it comes to npc's.

Using this system sets me up for PVP situations I don't want in public lobbies. If I want to stay in public lobbies and not be a target I can't do cop rampages anymore...alternatively, if I want cop rampages I need to stay out of public lobbies.

Given this stat doesn't differentiate between a Psycho player killer and a Psycho npc kill is the problem and both end up being a PVP target.

I am no more of a threat to other players than most passive player out there but I'm being marked as a threat/target to other players for non PVP actions.

As an experiment today (see post #40) I took a tank out in an invite only session with no other players about. After 4 mins of play I had gained 2 bars and was classed as 'Deranged'. I don't use my tank much at all but its useless now. Same with cop rampages, sometimes I like to survive as long as possible but this is done too unless I stay away from free roam.

With my new slighty rosey radar blip I'm being chased in free roam, if I defend myself and kill the other players then I extend the 'fun'. I'm not a PVP player, I like co-operative play but it seems I have less options than before.

An I the only one who thinks labels won't really matter and people will still act the same?

I thought this would be more are you like Trevor style not punishment style, and why are we trying to make people act nice in GTA, the game that revolutionized what we could put in video games, violence?

Alls ive said to rockstar is its a bit stupid that after ten minutes of playing latest version, I accompanied diehardlouie whilst we had a five star rating and yes you know you do kill cops on this game. Ive not killed any other players not enough to warrant the now harrasment I get on free roam from other players because I got full state in literally ten minutes now, im a person who enjoys having a co op session on free roam I much prefer playing with others rather than killing them. But between the noobs who think I am a bounty and people who think I am coming to kill them I can no longer do what I used to like doing on free roam. It has spoilt it a little bit for me tbh. And I dont think it should really go up that quickly its ridiculous. It literally has f*cked up my fun on free roam.

That's what I was thinking. I was actually looking forward to it. I didn't think I was going to get a nanny that told me I was bad every time I accidently shot a pedestrian.

BTW, I need someone to quote me on the idea that the "griever" posts are going to get crazy as this will create a new type of griever, the griever griever.

I can already see it happening.

Erm...are you quoting me as I seem to be the only person using the words 'tank' and 'useless' on this page?

What I actually said was:

"As an experiment today (see post #40) I took a tank out in an invite only session with no other players about. After 4 mins of play I had gained 2 bars and was classed as 'Deranged'. I don't use my tank much at all but its useless now."

As you can see this is radically different to what you seem to have quoted. The point being if I use my tank against NPCs it greatly increases my mental state which makes me a PVP target...as I'm NOT a PVP player this is an issue as it is with any other actions that involve killing npcs.

Apologies if I've misunderstood.

Heheh... in all honesty I consider myself a pretty passive player. I never even owned a tank until a few weeks ago (I'm level 315ish right now, all legit). I do take my tank out once in a while and waste cops with it for fun. Players actually started parking next to me while I shot the crap out of the cops a few times since they know I won't shoot them intentionally. I had fun doing it but it's not really something I'll be doing now that this mental state thing is a thing.

With all the complaining r* might adjust it but I for one welcome it. Im a psycho and so far ive seen a few players try to avoid contact when i came their way. On another note if you want to be that guy who hunts us down dont complain when you get whats coming and dont be surprised if psycho players team up either.

With the way NPC's purposely run into you during missions and how the cops act in free roam, they deserve to die. Really, killing them should improve your mental state. Less evil dead-eye cyborgs in GTA that are secretly plotting against you.
