Mental Stat Problem

<snip>

You killed someone 20 times just because he blow you and your super car up one time(I guess he pay, right?) and send some BS message to you, and you claim yourself a nice guy?

Oh my god...

That's correct. He was a douche, he is a crew member and trying to kill me, so I f*cked his sh*t up, if I see him again I'll jump right back to psycho mode. Yes, I am a nice guy, I never kill random people, but when someone pick me out to f*ck with I f*cking rape them. Its what griefers deserve. And if I'm to be a psycho for teaching a douchebag a valuable lesson then so be it ;)
So, you grief him. How is that any better than what he's doing to you?Griefing a griefer is frowned apon? I was innocent in the situation, just minding my own business, its called payback, he shouldn't have been a douchebag. Briefing. Griefer and briefing on the innocent are completely different. The griefer isn't innocent, he's a f*cking douchebag, and got what he deserved ;)

Typos.. I know. Figure it out ;P

I'm not saying it's frowned upon, just don't call it payback when you know you enjoy griefing as much as he does.haha, yes I did enjoy it, I enjoy it every time. But for the simple fact that their original plan backfired and they get a taste of what the do to people daily. His plan was to f*ck with me and spawn kill me and whatever else. Just over piss me off, bit he wasn't good enough. Yes, I enjoyed griefing him. I almost followed him into another session after he left. But thats what it was payback, I don't just go around pissing people off, I grief geiefers, they deserve it. I prey on the guilty. Not the innocent. And yes, I f*cking love it. If their were no griefers I wouldn't f*ck with anyone. But the original argument was, not sure if it was you, but challenging the fact that I'm a nice guy and clean player. Griefing a griefer is justified. Karma is a bitch. Especially when I see them preying on lower levels. Just because I grief geiefers (and yes, I know they are griefers) I don't just pick a name and high level and say "your a griefer, goodbye" but just because I do that, doesn't mean I'm not a clean player, or a nice guy. But now, for griefing a griefer, I get a red dot painted on my forehead as well. And chased across the map all day, and can't kill anyone who kills me or I'll remain a psycho forever, I just feel there are some flaws, thats all ;) Edited by Brwnlee

Yeah it should have been players vs players only. Its so stupid that killing cops and NPCs bring the psycho meter up. I dont want to be called psycho just because i crash into an NPC that drive like an idiot. Hope they fix it in the future.

This afternoon I thought that just if they would be kind enough just to leave it PvP related and not PvE would have been great, but now I'm not even sure about PvP... There were some guys killing me just because they wanted to and in the end we all ended up red...

I seriously Abhor this update I can't even defend myself because if I do I'll end up being red and with half a lobby chasing me...

I don't see what's the big deal. Apparently you get a lot of Rp for killing players that have high mental instability. Seawall (yes, that Seawall) tested it out with two lvl 150 players and he got 10,200 RP. That's REALLY good RP considering you just killed a player

I believe that the concern pf everyone is is that person with the red dot ends up being an almost endless RP farm, in other words is a target for everyone. And don't take me wrong this would be awesome if only the "guilty" people would be the ones with red dots... The problem is that there is also a lot of "innocent" players with red dots...

Each time a player with mental instability is killed their instability is lowered so if the player is mentally unstable and being killed for RP he will eventually have no more mental instability and should no longer be targeted by players after a while.

Well Idk if it's because I'm on a PS3 or what but at least In my personal case... That didn't happened, I suppose that it was because the other guys that were killing me were white not red so in the end we all ended up red...

are you sure of this? Has it been tested? If so how many times do I need to be killed by another player? I would test, but I do like my k/d. But apparently being passive for hours on end and just running from fights isn't helping too much

Well in that case, your mental stability should have been lowered if they were killing you, unless you were killing them too. Remember that killing anyone in free roam will raise you mental stability, including NPCs.

Too be fair yes, I ended up being less red than those guys, but still it's pretty annoying not to be able to defend yourself. I even tried to go into "passive mode" and try to climb into a roof... But one of those damn guys called a helicopter just to kill me with it... Seriously I had to change session but by that time I already had a red dot for all those times that I killed them in self-defense... Now I'm a living target :(

Just a question: Can you bring your mental stability back down? Or does it only go up?

Edit: Never mind. Found the answer above

It takes minimal effort to stay white. Anyone who has maxed their meter and says it was easy or only took minutes is a liar.

I find it hilarious and justified that mass killers get hunted by other players.

You can goes down as long as you don't keep killing other players and NPCs in free roam.

So far, being killed by other players brings your mental stability down, along with not killing players and npcs in free roam.

No no no wait I'm pretty sure Lacius is correct too. If you simply don't kill other players and NPCs in free roam (jobs are ok) either that should also bring your stability down.

Go do a race or a mission or a gang attack and see what happens to the stat.

Just found out that when 2 players are in a car, the white dot player covers the red dot player, who of course shoots you on sight, in the back, just as he always has since GTA0 went live. So, no difference so far.

Luckly killing other players (even if they are full white) makes the mental state bar incrise fairly slow. I had a friend of mine kill me about 15 to 20 times in a row and he just got half of his bar filled, he was kind of red by the end of that little experiment though.

MagicNarcosis

A nice way for it to work as far as the aggression towards other players goes should be:

LTA (Likely To Attack) : Extremely High being the highest. Very Low being the lowest.

It takes literally no effort to stay white...I just don't kill anything at all except in jobs. I quite enjoy messing around in free roam but its very dull now as my hands are tied as any actions against npcs will lead to PVP.

My tank experiment on post #40 where I killed npcs in an invite only session with no other players showed it takes about 4 mins to gain 2 bars...if we extrapolate then thats around 10 mins of npc bashing and then you're the top PVP target if you go into free roam. If I get chased by the police and try to escape then I don't think an hours play is unreasonable to start getting a healthy red glow to your radar blip.

As a non PVP player who doesn't attack other players this is BS because it means I can't enjoy the game without being forced into a PVP situation should I go into free roam.

I pose no threat to other players but yet they will chase me as an RP farm because I killed npcs. They really need to remove npc kills from this stat.

If mental state goes all the way up it should disable your ability to see other players with a white dot on the map. I think that'd be epic.

so they can kill you faster right? I am in a lobby now and have 7 assholes after me non stop I dint kill any of them before they starter firing a me.

edit: and they came looking for me, I was far from them

lol thanks for making me laugh. The funny part is that's how it feels when random people shoot me for no reason. Good to hear the tides are turning.

From what I can see, you get paid to be a good player. When your mental state goes down you will usually receive $2000.

I think the color scheme to indicate who's pyscho is god awful, idk if they have a bounty or just crazy

Kill em anyway, you can get ridiculous amounts of rp killing a full psycho player like 10k if you get the right person

The tank does that because simply sitting in the tank makes the metre go up. The NPC's you killed likely were not much of a factor to your mental sate. Simply sitting in your tank makes you a target. I have killed other players by choice and NPC's by accident when driving wrecklessly and have not even gained a bar. So relax and dont worry about it moving, because unless you use your tank you will be fine...

And it also increases when you just defend yourself against other players...
