just that it didn't take long.

My opinion is that 20 minutes dedicated to one task in this game is a long time.

Some activities you do will reduce the Psycho stat dramatically. Doing one Gang War reduced me a whole Psycho bar. Missions also reduce it at an accelerated rate.

For people who "accidently killed a ton of NPCs" and are now red. That's how you learn.

The fact that it goes up for killing NPCs is so mind-bogglingly stupid I can't even begin to understand it. How they made such a bad decision is completely beyond me. Do they really expect us to just walk around doing nothing? It should relate to player vs player conflicts, ONLY.

Rockstar saw an opportunity to remove more fun from GTA0, and man, they jumped on it. :bored:

Went through 10 pages and no one said anything about how much RP you get for killing people with low-max mental stability. I'm not home yet and wanted to know.

I'm not sure about that... after I suddenly lost my bright red psycho status I got into a tank and again earned total psycho in about 15 minutes. I took a mission immediately (RR) and when I came back the psycho stat was down maybe... 1/16th of an inch. It barely moved.

Still trying to figure out why I lost psycho so suddenly...

This is just a straight up example of bad game design. It encourages a spawnkill moshpit of red dots on every lobby rather than the one-on-ones it was before. Has the capacity to f*ck freeroam up badly.

it already has, in the space of one day its as bad as it was when everyone had glitched money and everyone just slaughtered everyone else. Free roam is f*cked now

still reading through 10 pages so if this has already been asked sorry

1. if it only goes up in free roam what about robbing stores/cash vans and gang attacks?

2. do you need to be playing for it to go down or will it go down while my xbox is off and i'm at work/sleeping?

3. as i'm not a NPC why do i need to know how other players treat NPCs? (sod the f*ckers)

4. does it go up if you kill someone who just killed you?

Oh good, as someone above 250 level, RP is what I need.

If you dont like it...

DESIGN YOUR OWN GAME.

Doesn't excuse a sh*tty feature.

Go cry about it somewhere else. R* messed up.

I am not crying...you are crying. I like the feature.

Explain how its useful.

A player shouldn't get punish for killing cops or citizens.

This feature should only work if the player kills another player. So then they know what kind of player you are. With this useless feature all we know is if people play this game like real life or life a video game.

Automatically colouring the map dots in such a way I think was a very bad idea, before the update when you got into a fight and killed another player or two they re-appeared as a white dot and you often had to look at the main map to figure out who is who, and it wasn't such a big deal when you had a group of 2-6 players killing each other in one area of the map, but now those same players stick out like sore thumbs and their individual pink/red coloured dots can often easily be identifyable when they respawn, allowing you to quickly and continually attack the same player(s) over and over and over again.

At this point in time it feels like R* royally f*cked up, those who want to treat freeroam as deathmatches are continuing to do so but now all the other players who enjoyed attacking NPCs but not players have been grabbed by the scruff of their necks and unceremoniously dragged kicking and screaming into the eternal deathmatches of freeroam. And the few that treat freeroam as somewhere to hang out with friend have quickly found out it's better to just avoid everyone else by going to invite only sessions.

I get that R* wanted to help divide the players between those that want to kill and those that want to chill, but this is completely the wrong way of going about it, especially as you can't easily go from kill to chill because you've got that bloody target on your back that takes hours to disappear, apart from the recent anomaly of many players suddenly having their status drop back to normal and nobody knows why except R*.

Making game-friends (who aren't in the same crew as you) has never been harder :(

Rockstar, you could have easily avoided this sh*tfest by adding a 'passive' lobby option where players' guns+explosives don't kill other players (but do work on NPCs), allowing everyone in it to drive around in their new cars without worry someone's going to shoot them just because they can.

Yeah get the f*ck outta here with that sh*t. That's how you learn what? To not have fun and play the game like it's the sims?

Killing NPC's has been a staple of the franchise forever.

I'm really not liking this change. I always liked driving to LSC in my chrome adder and surprising everyone with sticky bombs. Now they already know I'm coming and shoot me before I can detonate them!

I've been reading this topic as I haven't played GTA for well over a month now (Xbox LIVE Gold ran out and didn't bother buying any since my friends all have an Xbox One now) and I'm unsure what I should say concerning this new DLC/features.

I'll just sigh.

*sigh*

It lets you know who is being aggressive and who is not...This map is huge and you can tell how a person is approaching if they mean harm or not.

Does it increase faster for killing other players? And slowly for NPCs? Or is it the same for both?

I don't see the reason for so much backlash at this feature.

Give it a week and everyone will stop complaining about it.

I was f*cking up the police for fun and my dot starts turning red. But then when it got really red, other players started coming after me.

Red dot didnt make people stay away, it made them come to me.

ok, you're the people this was designed for, but it just so happened to f*ck everything up. so if/when they do fix it, you're still going to have problems.

Not really because it mixes up player kills with NPC kills... thus you have NO IDEA what the red psycho icon means.

well within 10 minutes of a cop chase I had full psycho rating. I think its the same but if I have to bet on it I would even say it goes up quicker when npcs are killed rather than players. Totally the wrong way around.

Does the blip really affect your reaction to an approaching player...it does not for me.

I understand that but how is killing NPC's harming the player? Its the other way around from what I notice. If someone has 5 stars on them they do me a favor and get all the cops into one area and makes leaving 10 times easier.

Even with that this system is flawed.

You can't kill NPC characters

You can't use self defense cause the system would think your the attacker just like that poor bad sport system was

The only thing you can do in the free roam is just drive around and pretend its the sims. If people complain about others killing them they should of ask Rockstar of a Passive lobby like the Friendly lobby in RDR.

That would give them a choice:

A) Get your skills up

B) Go into a Passive lobby and play the Sims

I just don't see the difference one bit..players shoot other players regardless of all the factors.

I did not notice a difference but it has not even been one day...we should give it more time...those of you with red blips know randoms are just as likely to start shooting...would you take less of a chance depending on your blip shade?
