Discussion: Has Rockstar Abandoned the PC platform?

I'm assuming it will look close to Rockstar's early screenshots that looked nothing like the trailer. Like that screenshot of Trevor walking away from the O'neil house, with superior lighting and shadows.

 

EDIT: This one. Looks like the Adaptive DOF that's mentioned in the visualsettings.dat too.

I would say so, yes. Lots of ENB sorcery is possible nowadays. Just look at Dark Souls II, there's already an ENB that attempts to return the game's lighting and mood to the pre-release stage. It's not identical. But it's really damn close.

 

Although I personally do not like to use ENBs in GTA games since I appreciate the default looks on my PC, I'd attempt one or two profiles that aren't too flashy and overblown. Just for fun.

Oh Yeah that screenshot has gotta be from the PC/PS4 versions. There is no way that the crap box one and last gen could produce such a crisp image!

This is pretty much proof that this isn't just a dev kit we're talking about. Rockstar wouldn't bother with Social Club integration for a simple dev build/testing kit.

I really don't see how someone can brush off the build log as "nothing." And there's no way they were working on it, then scrapped it. It looks like they were pretty far in.

 

It's definitely coming. It's just a matter of when. Personally, I'm putting my faith in Ash and hoping something happens at the end of June.

We should set up a semen-filling contest on the day of release of the PC version. The person that ejaculates the most (measuring in gallons?) when the game hits Steam wins 5.8 mil in GTA: Online for one of their characters. We could get in touch with Rockstar to organize the whole thing. Have us all sit at one long dinner table like in one of those eating contests and let the public watch us masturbate away as the timer counts down to PC launch.

 

We'll go for buckets. A full bucket wins the contest. Cheaters are disqualified and punished by being unable to pick up prostitutes on their Online characters for the rest of their virtual lives. This is due to implied virtual castration done by a Rockstar Game Moderator.

it's always funny how people justify stealing with the ole "testing" BS.

 

Well maybe in you neighborhood or within your group of friends it's like that, although I actually get games from torrents to actually test them before buying them. I had a lot of problems in the past with games I bought that didn't run as they meant. And in my country or at least in the stores I buy them there is no "get your money back if your not satisfied", if you pay unless the game is actually broken you can't get your money back... and with broken I don't mean falling on the floor.

 

I did that with GTA IV and the game ran good enough so i bought it, I did the same with NFS Rivals and I installed the game and didn't bought it, same for FIFA 14... I installed the game I didn't like it and didn't play it. Some of these games had demos others didn't, although the final product is not always like the demos, so I have to test before buying. I used to pirate games when I was younger and it was te only way to get access to anything, but now I don't need to do that neither I want. Honestly i don't think I'm doing anything wrong, it used to be like that years ago with SHAREWARES, where you would get the full game but it was limited by time and if you liked it you could unlock it.

 

It was a better way to test the games at least i think like that, and I'm just doing a "test drive" like you can do with any car before buying. A console game you can test in the store a PC game you can't because it depends on your particular configuration.

 

I had IV pre-ordered when I downloaded it from the torrent, if I couldn't run it I would wait till I had a capable computer, I'll do the same with V most likely even if it has some "funny" prevention for cracks I don't care, I just wanna see it in terms of performance, although I'm not so worried like I was with IV, my only worry right now is to know if my CPU won't die before the game is out... it's starting to struggle.

 

So as you can see what you call "piracy" I call it a public service that Game Developers/ Publishers don't have available. If I'm not sure something will run in my machine I rather not risk it, money is hard to earn and doesn't grow in the trees.

 

I kinda do that... but then I remember I already have to game on my PC so I don't bother buying it

 

Anyway, seeing as this has kinda turned into a WD discussion I though I'd share this. I got on Youtube to finish off watching a video I started watching yesterday. I go to my subs and it's filled with Watch Dogs... FML.

So by the early reviews that i read, Watch Dogs turned out exactly the way i thought, another overhyped game from Ubisoft who may be pretty on the outside but once you see the inside you realise it's not really that pretty. I'm just glad the fanboys who claimed that this would finally be the GTA killer are going to finally shut the f*ck up about this game .

May not be the same level of world interaction, but still watch dogs is a lot of fun. And about the performance, it can be patched. GTA4's performance was worse at launch. Until patch 4 i had a horrible time.

People just want an announcement. Those logs just confirm a PC version of GTA V exists or existed at some point. They still don't explain why we haven't heard anything yet, or when we will. It does suck. I just got it and after ~4-5 hours i have to say that it has boring story and boring gameplay, overall, a boring game. I perdict i'll have to push myself to finish the game just to find out the little kid or his mother dies and then make the game a garbage can material.

From the game I played which a friend from my building borrowed me (my pc can only do it as low and medium), I felt that when you try to play w_d gta style, you find the game bad; when you play it slowly, just walking down the street observing the environment, hacking some phones, doing things slowly, missions etc. you kinda get the game's message. You are more likely to to enjoy what you paid for if you adopt a different style of gaming, try to feel yourself immersed in the game like you'd be using oculus rift and not like a Trevor kinda guy

Been watching a sh*tload of WD videos, first of all its the most over hyped game i've ever seen an its nothing like what they showed us at that Nvidia Trailer just by watching it i can tell the driving physics are a nightmare,cars are ugly as hell, people have been talking on how low FPS even on medium,weather looks way to autumnish and the list goes on....

GTA V on PC will wipe WD on the floor once its out,dont get why people are losing thier sh*t over WD,might aswell install IV with Enb and call it Wash Dogs,WD can never and will never come any where near V,what a waste of money....

Dude please, the hacking thing is a novelty, it's cool at first but it gets old after some time, and the reviews mentioned the missions being scripted which i figured that would happen considering the people who made the game , the immersion thing only gets you so much, it's funny there were a lot of people when GTA V came out trashing the game because they felt the game was too scripted and those same people said Watch Dogs will have more variety, well i would like to know what those people think now .
