It's not Joe if it was Joe he would have reunited with Vito by then if he was still alive.

Joe probably signed a deal. Vito was kicked to New Bordeaux to work as Sal's capo, but was smart enough to keep the money rolling to give them less reason to whack him (which Sal did it later on anyway). He also said he dislike Leo in Mafia 3.

So yeah. Who knows.

I wonder if there's a full interior list anywhere online? I randomly stopped over by an unmarked bar in the French Ward. Didn't even remember it was part of a mission.

I'd like to revisit all these locations in freemode. Hopefully the hippie club from SOTT is still open, though I doubt it.

The moment you realize the best part of the game is still in front of you:

80% playboy magazines left

Been playing for a couple of hours and with all the new additions I enjoy the game a lot more than I used to outside of main missions. Still a lot of stuff to do.

I'm very impressed by Sammy's bar. Don't care if it's non-profit, I want to push that place to the max. Great addition, the DLC was completely worth it.

Been collecting collectibles, doing remaining side missions, growing weed and began renovating Sammys bar while also exploring a bit. I'm going to spend my playtime on Mafia 3 again from now on.

Really don't know what to do with this game now. Want to sell it to someone who wants it, but I'll miss my cars. They're like damn toys.

I still have around two or three races left to get Platinum medals to unlock the remaining car parts. Although they have nerfed the AI rubberbanding and increased the record time, I'm still lazy doing it.. Lol.

Thought it was pretty cool the windshield wipers actually worked when it rained. Be nice if GTA had that. M3 graphics were sh*t though, total ps3 look. Also after you beat the game, nothing left to do.

Something I've also taken notice of is Lincoln actually changes gears. When he reverses or puts it in drive you can see the animation. Nice touch.

Even Mafia II had the windshield wipers working.

I am very happy with this game, especially now after all updates and DLCs.I didn't experience any issues except for some strange visual/lighting bugs.

Shooting guns is so much fun when compared to similar games. Revolvers, 1911, Auto Mag and shotguns are my favourite. How many games offer you a chance to shoot Colt Python? Too bad there is no snub nose revolver, like Colt Detective or Chiefs Special.

Driving is great as well. It takes skill definitely.

Too bad people judge this game only based on visuals/bugs and customization and not on superb story/characters and engaging shooting/driving.

I haven't enjoy a game this much probably since Max Payne 3.

Okay, so I've been playing this game like it's my job, and quickly found that in my first attempt, I... didn't get very far at all. But now I've played through a ton of the takeovers (going after the Capos now) and played through both Sign of the Times and Faster, Baby! and did most of the side stuff for those DLCs (completely renovated Sammy's, and am working on the herbalism), and I feel that I've played enough of this game to state pretty definitively that I just don't like Mafia III. Nope, I don't like Mafia III.

I love Mafia III. I can't put this motherf*cker down!

Yeah, it's still got problems. The main framework is still a bit too repetitive, and there are still annoying graphical glitches. But the main gameplay I'm just having a blast with, and between patching and DLC, they fixed most of the problems i had the first go around. Racing is fun, Sammy's was a great, satisfying money-sink (and I also don't care that it doesn't turn a profit, it's just such a nice, fulfilling side-mission that adds so much more heart), and mixing, growing, naming and selling my very own types of weed is scratching this Walter White itch I never knew I had. And I can't get enough of the car customization, even if I mainly just stick with Lincoln's trusty Drifter - it's just such a badass car, and it's very clearly established as Lincoln's baby, so it feels kinda wrong driving anything else haha.

I still stand by my earlier comments about this game when it came out, because it really was a pretty lousy launch. I've never seen this confirmed, but I really get the feeling that it was rushed out early in time for the 2016 holiday season, and if that's the case, that was a huge mistake. Not only was it released unfinished and missing a lot of stuff they'd add in later through patching, but it was forced to compete with not just the typical FPS juggernauts of Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1, but Watch Dogs 2 (which may not have sold GTA numbers, but was pretty definitively the sandbox game of the season). And while it still sold pretty well, it just couldn't beat that competition (hell, not even Titanfall 2 could, and that was a FPS juggernaut. And IMO, the best of the three that came out that season). Mafia III could have cleaned up in Spring or Summer of this year - and it'd have been properly finished. If the game were released in the state it's in now, maybe it wouldn't get 9s and perfect 10s, but I think the overall reception would be a bit warmer.

As for me, I personally gave the game a 6 when I first tried it, during its launch months. It had so many things I really liked, but the flaws just dragged it down for me. But now that it's been (mostly) fixed through patches and significantly beefed up through the DLC, I'd give it about an 8. It's still got too many flaws holding it back from true greatness, but is a big improvement over its original state. Should it have been like this from the beginning? Yeah, probably, and it's a shame that the DLC is pretty much required to get the most out of it. But it is what it is, and I'm glad that the game's been given some TLC to make it shine brighter, and again that I decided to give it another chance.

Anyway, next mission set I'm gonna start is the Southern Union ones in Frisco Fields, which I have been itching to play. I've already gotten a taste of the Union in Faster, Baby and cannot wait to get to the scene where you mow down those motherf*ckers by the dozen at their little rally.

Alright, you've soldified my interest. It sounds like the DLCs did a fine job at reconstructing the game. If they'll come out with a complete edition re-release, then I'll probably give the game a second shot. The story was fantastic, it was all this undercooked fluff around what dragged the game down and if the DLCs really shaped the gameplay up to what it originally should have been, then that's great news.

It's just disappointing that Mafia III once again reflects the troubling state the industry's in. Buy the game now for a malnourished skeleton, buy the Season Pass to get the game you really wanted.

The dlc just add little more story with their different type of gameplay (car chases, corridor shooter, investigation).

Nothing really add the game. When you finished them all, the game is back to being empty stage again, including Sinclair Parish. (Literally no enemy and only one mod shop there.)

Alright, you get few new vehicles countable by your fingers, rebuilding Sammy's bar, and weed farming. Weed farming is the only one unlimited and experiment-able, but it's a waiting game. Things like bounty hunting and working in Sammy's bar are yet another missed potential.

Seriously. Lol. Yeah probably you'll feel like "wow so many things to do" when you start the game from scratch with all DLC in. But then most likely you'll end up realising those didn't really add something.

My biggest complain would be lack of any way to save the game or to restart chapters. Also, there is no option to play again with unlocked weapons. It is terrible design and I really don't understand how people who make their money by creating games can miss to design such a simple thing.

Other than that, no major complain from my end.

Before updates and patches I would rate this game 6.5/10, after updates and patches 8/10. I give high scores rarely when rating games or movies, so 8 is really good score if it comes from me.

For example, imo, GTA Singleplayer was less enjoyable and I rated it with 6/10.

i just did my first sit down and then started stones unturned for the first time and just got done with the"welcome to the show mission" and I have to say it was one of the best missions I've played in this game. I plan on pacing the dlc's out by playing one after each sit down or inbetween district take overs. imo it would've been better if the dlc's were just one story with 9 mission instead of 3 seperate dlc'sbut gladly take this over nothing at all the dlc's didn't add anything groundbraking in terms of gameplay. it's like playing gta V.2 with the midnight club slow down driving and bullet time shooting and also they stole the weaponized insurgent from gta online but still I will gladly take this over nothing because it adds more story missions and breaks the monotony of repetitive racket dismantling. add the racing the mod garages weed farm and renovating Sammy's and this is completely a whole new game.

Cool! I don't wanna oversell it tho, it's not really the Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut of video games. They ain't exactly The Lost and Damned/The Ballad of Gay Tony either, the stories are pretty short. But for me, the DLC stories out added some much-needed distractions from the main story, and it's felt nice taking a break from building my empire and taking down Marcano's to do other stuff every once in a while, from dealing with an insane cult (complete with some LA Noire Lite detective work) to helping take down a racist sheriff. I still need to do Stones Unturned, and I think I'll do that one after taking down a Capo or two. I'm excited to play that one, I'm hungry for some 'Nam-esque jungle action and spending more time with Donovan, who is easily one of my favorite characters in the game.

And yeah, the repetition is still there. I've just finished grinding a few side missions (stuff like stealing cars for Burke and the trucks for Alma and Nicki), and yeah, I won't lie, it felt kinda like a chore. But that's largely on me for letting them build up like I did. No matter what game you're playing, letting a bunch of same-y missions build up and then going through them all will feel monotonous. That said, it doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as it did before, and even then, I'm finding it way more fun than say, half of the bloated, unnecessary side sh*t in Arkham Knight. But as long as you just spread it out pretty evenly and make sure do do races, DLC stuff etc. in between, I think the issue of the repetition isn't that bad. The basic stuff of hunting down targets, stealing sh*t etc. isn't that much more repetitive for me than the later Far Cry games, and I freaking adore those games so it goes down fine for me for the most part.

Really, one of my chief problems with the game at launch is that it was waaaay too narrow and focused. It was all about bringing down Marcano and building your own empire, without anything to do on the side, and even the side missions factored into building your empire. Don't get me wrong, this is the better approach than say, Assassin's Creed III's method of cramming every last little idea they had into the game hoping that something would stick somewhere (and I say that as a huge AC III fan), but a diversion every once in a while is appreciated. And for me anyway, the DLC stuff has provided that. It's still not perfect, and I really should not have had to buy the DLC to get the most out of it, but IMO it's so much better than it was released as.

If you want to enjoy game more, try playing with weapons you like, not with the most effective ones. That helps me little bit.

For example, I really like 1911 .45 ACP, S&W 19 and Colt Python so most of the time I use these in combination with a shotgun or a bolt action rifle.

It takes more time but even then I was very disappointed with final mission to kill Marcano. It is way too easy and it feels unfinished. Only 2 major groups of enemies and even though I was armed with 6 shoot revolver and 4 shot shotgun, it still didn't take more than 15 minutes to complete the final mission.

I was expecting much more enemies and cut scenes. Killing that guy in a penthouse was way more interesting and challenging when compared to killing Marcano.

I agree. The whole game we've been hyped about Marcano's casino and the level turned out to be quite sh*tty.

Imagine having a mission during the grand opening. That would've been awesome! I can only imagine all the chaos when people put their first chips on the tables then Lincoln steps in and blows everything to pieces.

I noticed that this game gets more attention on GTAForums than it does on r/Mafia3. Anyway, I really hope they release more DLC content. I'm expecting things like car packs and more outfits, but we'll see.

It'd be a little sad to see Mafia 3 fade away in obscurity after its season pass ended. It still has a lot of potential.

It took me one evening.. you can't re-enter the new map..

Still, it was short and sweet. I almost forgot how excellent the cutscene quality was. I think I'll wait for the next DLC, then replay the whole thing.

Ok, that was disappointing again

The DLC was fun, sure but way way to short again.

2-3 hours of good action, and 30 minutes of bounty hunting is not enough for the money.

Especially since you can't replay it.

Sorry 2k, not good enough.

I just finished stones unturned yesterday i enjoyed good story and the missions were huge compared to faster baby onlything faster baby has over stones unturned is that faster baby has more side content. i especially liked the surprise ending just when you think its over....

i don't understand this complaint of not being able to revisit the island. its an uninhabited island what more can you do there after you've completed everything. its just trees ocean and no wild life. what is the point?

Well, it's the standard first impression. Not that I mind anymore. Faster Baby included a new map piece so when I first entered that island I thought it's cool, new place to explore, but it was pretty much useless besides the one mission.

Spend three hours today working on my weed, collectibles and renovating the bar. I had a lot of fun exploring too. Saw some corners of the Bayou I haven't seen before, same goes for Sinclair Parish and the western districts.

But damnit, that mission when Dixies attacked the bar broke all possible logic. They throw a goddamn molotov, lincoln stepps out and kills everyone and then the people happily continue the rest of their evening. Talk about not giving a sh*t.

Dem playboy mags though, saw some pretty neat butts today. So much better than the slutty pron we see today.

Welp, I stayed up late last night finally beating this sucker. I've gotta say, the whole finale hit me pretty damn hard, way harder than I was expecting. I was not expecting this game to get under my skin in that Life is Strange/The Last of Us/Mother 3/Assassin's Creed III way, but it totally did.

But before I go into spoilers (for a game getting on a year old that most people reading this thread have probably beaten), I'll just go over my thoughts on the game as a whole: while the dents in the armor did become more apparent later in the game. Namely the repetition... and namely those damn racket side-missions. Yeah they get you money and upgrades, but going out (usually waaaay down to the bayou), grabbing another damn truck, and driving it aaaaall the way back up to civilization just got soooooo damn tedious. For my next playthrough, I think I'm just gonna do enough of them so that the underboss whose ending I want ends up with the most earn and just skip the rest. Now the busywork to take over the districts IS repetitive, but that didn't really bother me; I found it a lot of fun. But those truck fetch quests... uuurrrrgh.

But other than that, and the general lack of polish, I still think this has become a solid 8/10 game (maaaaaybe like a 7.75 if I really got nitpicky) that I mostly had a blast playing, with a fantastic story, cast of characters, atmosphere, setting and soundtrack. This really is the new Assassin's Creed III for me, where the gameplay stumbles a bit more than it should, and just generally feels rough around the edges, but I still have a ton of fun with it and the story, characters, setting etc. elevate it into being one of my personal favorites.

Now for spoilers:

That final chat with Marcano... damn. I was not expecting that. I was already feeling a little heavy after killing Giorgi, when he made the parallel between him/Sal and Lincoln/Sammy apparent, but sitting down with my sworn enemy and just having an introspective conversation over a drink was a direction I was not expecting, but absolutely loved, and in spite of all he'd done, I found myself actually feeling for the bastard. I actually hesitated to press the X prompt just to see what might happen, and Sal grabbed the gun on the desk and blew his own brains out. (I then looked up what happens if you DO press X, and yeah... I prefer Sal committing suicide. Lincoln vaulting over the desk, stabbing him and then f*cking kicking him in the chair and making him roll out the window, right after that conversation, was more awkward (and unintentionally funny) than anything else.

As for my final choice, I was tempted to take over. As Lincoln said, if he didn't run the city, someone else would. But in the end, I listened to James and chose to skip town. After the resolution with the Marcanos, and hearing the Voice getting shot by some racist asshole live on air, "my" Lincoln felt like he'd seen enough violence and killing and decided to just walk away. As for my underbosses, I split the turf up equally and fairly, so they all survived with no backstabbing. Weirdly, even though I'd arranged things evenly so that no one made more than the other, I got the ending where Burke takes over. Maybe it was because of this weird glitch where I read in the Journal that I'd assigned a racket to Burke, even though I'd assigned it to Vito? I dunno.

But the thing I really find interesting is the way that Lincoln is torn between two mentors, James and Donovan (even if Donovan is more of a peer/war buddy than a mentor, he did teach Lincoln everything he knows about black ops ish), who basically act as an angel and devil on his shoulders. James is the angel (duh) who implores Lincoln to just walk away - kill Marcano, sure, but leave it at that. Donovan on the other hand is not only more than happy to help Lincoln kill whoever the f*ck he pleases, but he even tells Lincoln he should kill all his underbosses at the end. I loved the guy, but yep, he's our devil here. And if Lincoln chooses to listen to James and just walk away, he gets what IMO is actually a pretty uplifting outcome - yeah, he becomes a drifter who isn't enjoying any of the wealth and power he worked toward, but he still has his soul, and James' respect. He was tempted with the possibility to basically become Sal Marcano, and in the end, he turned it down. On the other hand, if Lincoln listens to Donovan and bumps off his underbosses? He's blown the f*ck up by James, because he's become just as big a monster as Marcano was. And then there's the "rule together" ending, where Lincoln becomes King Sh*t of N.B., but even though he does some altruistic things for the community, in the end he basically just becomes another crime boss. I dunno, I just found it interesting. This isn't exactly a perfect comparison, but it kind of reminded me of the dynamic in Platoon, with Lincoln as Taylor, James as Elias, and Donovan as a (slightly less psychotic and brutal) Barnes, and I loved that.

And that after-credits scene, wow. Now I really want a Mafia IV just to see what else Donovan gets up to.

One last thing... yeah that was totally Joe. His appearance, and the way he glanced at Lincoln before getting in the car, that's a lot of focus and detail for just a Leo goon. If Vito finds out Joe's still alive, or if Joe finds out Vito's in N.B.... who knows.

So yeah, for all its flaws, Mafia III gets a thumbs-up from me. Not perfect, but definitely worth a play for anyone curious. :)

Oh, one last thing... I've got a big fatigue green jacket, and it doesn't have any patches, but it looks almost identical to Lincoln's jacket. I've also got jeans and big black boots, and while I don't have dog tags or a wifebeater, a white t-shirt could do in a pinch. And while it doesn't look that much like the one in the game, I've also got a big old combat knife from my dad's time in Vietnam. I'd make a pretty decent Lincoln cosplayer... well, if it weren't for the fact that I'm a chubby white Southerner and not a black dude with a huge gunshot scar on the side of his head who's built like a f*cking tank. :p

So I downloaded the Mafia 3's demo this morning for the PS4 and what in the world is wrong with the installation? It took 5 hours, unbelievable... never experienced anything like it before.

The game is quite fun to play so far, might even fork out £15 for the full game on ebay.

I finished faster baby today for the second time after starting a new game. I was half sleep the first time so I enjoyed it more. it was fun faced pace car chases etc. my only gripe was roxy left too soon. I under stand the whole love on the run thing but she could have been used for those side missions. she should've left after those were done.

I would like to see another video game of this nature. a story driven game focusing on vehicular combat and set piece destruction road traps etc. maybe duel protags with one as the driver and the other the designated gunner. maybe take time for the occasional on foot mission. different vehicles, upgrading to weaponized and armored vehicles something like an insurgent. also vehicular melee mechanics throwable explosives etc.

This game had so much potential but due to lack of time/budget they rushed it out f*ck you hangar 13 For ruining the sequel to my favorite game of all time... I don't look at mafia 3 as a sequel to mafia 2 it's more of Lincoln Clay killing everyone simulator

I hope their next game whatever it is that they work on next is good.
