I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt like that, especially when I was playing in the Classico outfit the entire time

 

Have yet to check out the decals and such was too busy with getting money with races to upgrade because I played it on a new save I started yesterday and didn't even know about the new AK

Just started Sign of the Times and my first impressions are...Lincoln Clay = black Cole Phelps.

Lmao. Well sh*t... I actually changed to Classico outfit before I closed the game few hours ago, thinking this would be better with that coat on.

 

About the bug: I read about that car not moving when start racing after the patch somewhere.

 

I wanna know what they gonna do though considering we just got a patch and this is the final DLC. I wonder if they gonna fix that latest bug at least.

Now to the download that will take longer than the DLC itself! Still better than GTAV though. Edit: Nvm, it's just 1,1 gigs. Gonna play it in the evening.

 

I won't delete the game from my hard drive just yet because I'm having an itch to replay the game, take a more brutal rambo approach this time and make different choices. Unlocking new stuff after the game is ended isn't really useful so I'll try to do the DLCs as soon as I can, especially Faster Baby so I can complete weed farm during the story. (Even though I like to think Faster Baby is the epilogue to Lincoln's story)

Maybe I'll give the city a new chance too. Take more time exploring and try to enjoy the open world for more than just driving around.

 

Not gonna restart it just yet though, maybe in a month or two when I've finished Witcher 3 NG and Yakuza 0 NG+. Plan to switch between Yakuza Kiwami and Mafia once I have my hands on Kiwami.

Apparently for non DLC buyers, they updated some buildings for the purpose of the DLC and also bullet time shooting. Real useless unless you're that bad in aiming.

i'm on ps4 the game is digital and I don't know what to do. hangar 13 or 2k doesn't have support for this . I don't know where to get advice. I believe the corruption came after I downloaded stones unturned during the last update but I don't know how this happened because I did nothing to cause this. I just downloaded the maingame this morning but i'm not downloading any dlc's.

I saw video of the first mission of the cult DLC and I'm thinking to myself "Oh sh*t they're trying to be LA Noire 2.0" with all the INVESTIGATING and sh*t. f*cking picking up sh*t and looking at it and going YEP THAT HAPPENED

Imo that's one of Mafia 3's biggest problems, it's trying to be too many things at once. It started as a sandbox crime game, and by the time Faster Baby came out, it was still that, albeit with a bunch of blaxploitation influences. Stones unturned was about the same until it turned into a some war shooter game. Sign of the times was just some investigatey-horror sh*t. Like holy sh*t all I wanted to do was go around and pop Italian mobsters, not go hunt down nukes or whatever.

Yeah. None of the DLC really fits in with the main game. Then again Undead Nightmare felt so out of place compared to RDR and people loved that.

 

My problem with the DLC mostly comes from being too short and the new characters are too forgettable.

 

It would've been better if they focused on one, big DLC with roughly the same amount of missions the three currently have, but across one story.

My last batch sold for $26.8k, so I wanted to hybridize it even further and I think I went too far with the strains and broke the game.

 

 

Edit: it's literally broken. Tried deleting the Strain but it lead into another Error Strain, except with the correct upgraded stats. Lmao. Planting it now.

I think the last DLC was amazing so far, though I still need to pick up a certain someone and drive to a certain place to see what it's all about.

It took me a little bit longer than the previous episodes, 3+ hours maybe? Last mission alone took me an hour. I suck I know but I took my sweet time. Throwing knifes are a good addition and bullet time made me sceptical first, but it turned out decent.

It's still too short though. If the last feature is interesting then I'd say this DLC is worth the money.

 

I know that it took a different direction with the investigating lite and horror bits, but I don't mind because it was quite interesting. More Father James is always good. This game actually made me hyped for Far Cry 5, cults are interesting sh*t.

 

My favorite part is the focus on Lincoln himself. Although these are just short moments in cutscenes, they went deep and I loved the epilogue.

 

So I'd say:

1. Sign of the Times

2. Faster Baby

3. Stones Unturned

 

Motorcycle outfit is a kick in the balls. That's just teasing man.

Just like other DLC, this one is also totally off and don't have anything to do with Lincoln's new empire. But I like this one much much much better than the previous two.

 

I'm playing the Sammy's bar restoration right now. This feature is UPGRADE based instead of customization, which means you cannot revert once you decide. Although, the renovation upgrades are optional on which one to choose first and have a lot of parts and it takes quite a lot of money. After reaching certain 'milestone', you'll be given a mission. First mission is to protect the bar against Dixie mafia.

 

Not sure if the bar will generate money in the end. But I just installed a basic kitchen, renovated second floor, and made an office.

I tried deleting the game and reinstalling and my game still wont save so as a last resort I've ordered a physical copy from amazon for 10.99 I hope this works.

You sure you didn't turn off your console while your game was saving? Maybe you didn't notice it.

Only option I see is to delete your savefile or try to play on a different profile.

Good point. But...

 

to make more sense, I think this DLC should be played and should happen in the beginning of the story (although there's a small extra dialog with Aunt Lili when you've dealt with Sal Marcano). This bar restoring idea was actually Father James' and Aunt Lili's to put Lincoln's mind away from the war, the incident by Marcano, and to pay respect to Sammy (and Ellis) because Lincoln was in coma when they were buried. This is where it's all began with the Ensaglante when they found them have been nesting in Sammy's bar, which makes it weird if now you're in the end game and have been sleeping and storing your cash in the basement. Now jumping to the end of the DLC, which is the Sammy's bar restoration project, I found the extra missions were mostly dealing with Dixie mafia. Of course, if we're in the end game, we could say those are Dixie remnants. But then again, Dixie mafia are a part of the problem in the beginning part of the story. So if we put this DLC with the flow of Lincoln building this bar before he even dealt with Richie Deucet (Dixie split-up), every endings in the main story will work well, whether it is by death, leaving NB, or becoming NB kingpin. The bar could be taken over by someone else at the end of the day and didn't age well. Then nobody wanted to buy the lot or the pre-built house because the land was used to be owned by a mobster and a massacre happened on the very same spot, which who knows what would have happened again to Lincoln's restored bar that time.

Wow. After playing more of Sign of the Times it has this really bizarre L.A Noire meets Resident Evil (Atmosphere only of course) kind of feel.

 

It feels so weird doing these missions then going back to the run of mill racket missions. I do like it though, but damn. I completely forget I'm playing a Mafia game.

 

I'm still contemplating whether that's a good or a bad thing.

I don't mind it having nothing to do with the mafia, in case of Faster Baby and Sign of the times. The last DLC showed us another puzzle piece adding to the portait of Lincoln's mind and his motivations.

 

I f*cking loved how Father James was trying to just help Lincoln and make him stop doing what he's doing but the plan backfired and made him even more mad.

 

 

In that regard, the Donovan DLC is the only DLC that disappointed me from the story perspective. It's way too out of place and is far fetched to just go out after a motherf*cking nuke. I get it, it's all about the friendship between Donovan and Lincoln but I feel the favor could've been something else.

Also why the f*ck would Lincoln even bother with bounty hunting? Meh.

 

 

Faster Baby was alright, even though it didn't give Lincoln more depth like SOTT did. We still took down a corrupt cop and dealt with criminals here. Weed is also a good new asset to Lincoln's empire.

 

I rather have what we got than three new lieutenants to take down. If I could, I would replace the second DLC with some sort of Joe Barbaro DLC to finally give us the closure we've been waiting for since years.

Did you even play Vito's secondary missions? In there it says that he managed to owerpower the guys in the car and he skipped town and went to Chicago, he was killed there.

It's pretty clear what happened to him. I'm kinda disappointed that they made it that he went to Chicago really ruined Mafia II's ending.

That's not all. At the ending scene of Mafia 3 with Leo there's a guy that looks exactly like Barbaro. It's not clear whether he survived or not. Maybe it just a random guy but they sure look awfully similar.

 

 

A sh*tload of videos like this and speculation around the net. That's why I had the DLC idea, to finally clear Joe's fate once and for all.

Maybe it's not him, but why tease us? Rewatch the ending. Why focus the camera on a random guy like this?

The new writers should just leave it. I thought the narrative & script in Mafia III was one of the best I have seen in a video game, but bringing Joe back just completely ruins the sad but well executed ending in Mafia II

 

I think it's clear Daniel Vavra killed off Joe & it should remain that way, Joe being alive cheapens the ending of a great game IMO.
