The cars in this game are amazing. Maybe I've had some difficulty trying to figure out the semi-clunky driving mechanics for the first time, but the looks and the feel of the cars are awesome. The boats are also a nice way to get around the bayou if ever in need for one.

For those of you curious to know what Burke or his car delivery guy says when you ask for a car.. he's saying "an-mhaith" as gaelige/in Irish Which roughly translates to "very good" or "very well." The 'mh" can give a 'w' sound though depending on the dialect. Burke is from the North so its apt the say he says it.

I tried the game at release day and back then I was after 3 mins like... nope, not going to happen.

Did the latest patch add only FPS unlock setting?

I am reading a lot of praise for the street signs in this game over the modern GPS navigation system of HD GTA's.

One thing in Mafia III every game should steal - link

Fo sho.

I do like looking at the world as I drive. That's why III-era pre-GPS GTA's were good because you weren't glued to the GPS so much. Also, you actaully remember turns better when you're looking for them, as apposed to looking at the GPS constantly. IMO, of course.

^Agree.

@Der einzig Wahre Despite this being a good game (full review coming after i finish it tho), the gameplay ls a lot like Watch Dogs indeed. They took a lot of stuff from there. I still haven't tried the optional chapters and i hope it's not that repetitive like story chapters. A few patches could make this game a lot better by adding just a small details and the most important being customization (at least for clothes) and making a safe house more usable (being able to save game, restore health, stack weapons, change clothes and such).

this game feels like watchdogs mashed up with MGSV, i've been saying it since i first played this game feels like something we would get from Ubisoft, its pretty underwhelming for it to be a Take Two/2k release.

One of the worst developed games I've played of this generation.

I'm extremely disappointed with what was promised and what we was given. Sure, it's a half-decent game, but from what developers shared with us and from the engine it's played on, I feel hard-done by, with paying £48 for this game.

The dynamic weather needs an awful lot of work, the clouds are normally brown/purple, incidents when rain-fall would be a background effect, then instantaneously the rain would lash down, over 5 squared metres.

The Police AI is next level retarded. Even the first installment of the series had a better AI for the Police. You're only ever a nuisance to traffic police if you tap/crash into them, even then, theres no "pull-over" or "pay fine", or "arresting" mechanic, straight up shoot at you.

I brushed past Police, they shot at me, I was 'loitering' and instead of arresting me, they shot on sight.

The story feels rushed and unfinished, the ending, again, extremely lacking in comparison to the other two in the series.

Personally think this is far fetched, I believe open-world games should implement a 14-year old feature of The Getaway.

The cars just used their indicators to guide you towards your destinations; obviously with a little update, such as only indicating as you get closer to a junction and also having a set-route to indicate to, instead of constantly telling you left/right when the road doesn't lead to the destination. With the use of a map/GPS, it will make it a lot easier, and its HUD-friendly. I always wondered why no other games have decided to add this feature.

Why isn't there like a clock or something in this game It would be helpful instead of just looking at that bright sun and trying to figure out the time. Lincoln could have a watch it's not that hard or they could have done something like Red Dead Redemption where you just pressed start and saw the time.

Mafia 3 is the bastardized red head stepchild that is living proof Watch Dogs humped Super Mario Kart while on acid flavored crack

I agree. The small stuff they got right that I am willing to give them credit for would be the street sign navigation, and I almost liked the shooting. Aside from that, I think it's a graphical mess, the game play is horrible, and personally (get ready for the butthurt) the story line is pure crap. I got about an hour in and felt like I should buy someone 40 acres and mule for being a white American.

Because the devs didn't want to attract player attention to the #EpicFail they knew the Sun.exe would turn out to be?

But they failed though.

Lincoln died from a high speed chase driving off a bridge straight into a croc's mouth in the bayou --- when the lighting went from high noon to pitch black midnight in less than 1.5 secs real time.....

----no wait....hang on--TCTNGaming just made me a complete lier :facedesk:

There was a clock before The Day 1 patch, I had to press start to see it. after the update it was gone. I think it was removed due to there being some issues with the clock not working alongside the in game time. it was also very fast.

Along the clock/day/night talk...

Is it just me or did something go drastically wrong with the night time lighting? I'm talking like entering an alley way almost everything is pitch black. You look up at the sky and it is a nighttime sky...enough to light an alley way at least. It makes me want to bust out a flashlight. I actually got straight up stuck in a ruined building at night. There was no way to see any exit. I had to just keep roaming around until I saw an [ever faint] glow of a doorway...and that was only when I was an inch away from the actual doorway.

So I started to walk on foot around the city... meh, my goodness how lifeless it is. Peds only walk, occasionally someone says hi and Linc says hi back or how r ya, no cool events happening or anything of that sort.

And the folk who stand and talk they talk about the same thing, the cop who harasses the couple in French Ward near the establishment you take over. The situation doesn't change at all, they will be there day or night rain or shine and him saying "race mixing, it ain't natural" over and over and over again.

So much for an authentic feel of the era, the city vibe my ass.

Do they not swerve into you? It'd only make sense for the traffic AI to take a step backwards like the entire series did.

The AI became neutral, they don't react at all.

Speaking of AI, last night I was playing Joe's Adventures a bit. One of the missions had me steal the Lassiter Series 75 in Highbrook, anyway the car was guarded by few mobsters, I shot one and took cover. Meanwhile cops were passing by and engaged, they shot all the guys and even arrested one, I just got in the car and took off.

I can't believe how poor this makes Hangar 13 look with development, absolutely abysmal performance in terms of how far behind it is in comparison to the previous gen games that were available back in like 2010/11

Sad but true, Mafia II had it's share of complaints back in the day mostly for cut content like barber shops (they do exist in game so I guess they were cut close to release) and the Subway, but it wasn't bad like this.

Seriously this reminds me of the hype with DRIV3R. Everyone was pumped for it, marketing was of the charts and the voice actors they hired. In the end up it was a glitchy mess with bad on foot controls. The story was good and the driving itself was the best in the series, but just like Mafia III the world was boring and dead though nicely crafted (Miami was recreated with excellency). At least it had replay mode which was tons of fun.

I've assigned wrong territory to Vito, is there a way to replace it to Cassandra?

I've been assigning wrong districts this whole game. I just flake and forget what district I cleared. Makes me nuts that my map doest have concurrent district assignments.

Same with assigning rackets.

Make'n me nuts.

I wanted French yard to go to Cassandra, but i accidentally gave it to Vito, while i meant for Vito the south part (industrial), well it's going to be the other way around. Whatever, just though it would fit better, but there's no way back now.
