- Different Universes are the biggest load of bullsh*t I have ever heard.

i know right.

R* must be laughing their ass's off at the people that eat that sh*t up.

If different universes aren´t a thing, then why does Liberty City in GTA IV look completely different from the LC in GTA III and LCS. The same with Los Santos in SA and V. Trying to say that different universes don´t exist doesn´t make any sense at all.

Basically, then by that logic, it means that Half Life 1 is in a different universe than Half Life 2, so the stories for both games are completely different and don't connect at all. Same with Hitman, Max Payne, so on and so forth.

*facepalm*

There's a difference between story and what I said. If GTA SA and GTA V are in the same universe, why does the state of San Andreas look completly different? Same with Los Santos. And Liberty City.

f*cking tired og people being stupid and claiming that seperated universes don't exist. It's like pointing at the blue sky and calling it green.

Agreed. Some people are just really ignorant I guess. Rockstar says they are different universes, and that's all there is to it.

Agree with these I didn't point out :)

We're supposed to put out actual opinions, right? Here goes:

  • There needs to be a GTA game set in Chicago.
  • I didn't want to kill Steve Haines.
  • I wish we could work for the FIB in Online.
  • I never want to see Liberty City again.
  • GTA IV was a terrible game, with a really boring story.
  • I don't want to return to any previous GTA locations. Except maybe Vice City.
  • I hate the Zentorno.

*I didn't want to kill Steve Haines.

*I wish we could work for the FIB in Online.

*Steve Haines was a manipulative corrupt c*nt and he got what he had coming.

*I've had enough working for the government for the bulk of V's plot.

OT: I hope the next GTA game has as little government involvement as possible. Hopefully then it could focus on actual "grand theft auto"

Yeah, I played SA, then III, then VCS, and then VC. Still yet to play LCS.

And that is the problem. If I had played VC after SA, I wouldn't have liked it myself.

It's a shame you missed out on something epic. I myself regret not having played 3 before VC.

-CJ and Franklin are highly underrated protagonists.

-Tommy, Niko, and Johnny are beyond overrated.

-Trevor is not a sociopath/psychopath, but rather misunderstood and unfairly derided.

-While GTA V has some irritating flaws and is a tad bit overrated by critics, it still stands as the second crowning jewel of the entire series, (San Andreas is the best game in the series to me).

-GTA V also had a pretty good story, plot, and great characters despite the many complaints.

-While I dislike all fanboys of the series, IV fanboys are the worst at the moment.

-GTA IV and LCS are the worst games in the series.

I agree about Franklin. Sure he doesn't have the depth some of the other protagonist do, but I don't think he's that bad.

Agreed. Steve Haines was an unlikeable douchebag, no doubt. Sorry but Haines was not a likeable antagonist... with all means.

Look at the similar characters (I mean law enforcers like him) throughout the series... Tenpenny, yeah he was a manipulative c*nt just like Steve, who was threating criminals into doing his dirty work with putting them into jail or killing them, but you could see that Tenpenny was more than a dimwitted c*nt who only uses his position to do whatever he wants. Tenpenny had big lobs of brains in my opinion.

Jerry Martinez... he's probably another type of Steve Haines but I think Jerry's more sharper than Steve, he's like a less comic relief yet more annoying version of Steve.

Francis McReary... he has exaclty the same brainwork as Haines' but he always f*cks up when trying to manipulating people, at least he f*cks up while trying to manipulate Niko as far as we saw (however, I think Francis has managed to manipulate Niko in a bit level when he stated that Clarence's lieutenant is selling heroin to kids). However, I always thought Francis McReary has an interesting philosophy, that's what I like about him most.

Wade Heston... well, at least he tried to help Huang rather than digging him under six feet of crap.

Dave Norton... I consider Dave a masterpiece amongst the characters of V. Dave was an interesting guy and furthermore Michael and Dave's weird bond showed an interesting relationship between the protagonist and a corrupt law enforcer. Dave may be a lap dog for Steve but he has consciousness and he was actually a smart guy. He was keeping calm, but I presumed that he had both brains and balls.

But I'm looking at Steve Haines and I ain't seeing anything that could make me sympathize his characteristic. Sorry, but I don't think Haines was smart, or he had an interesting philosophy, or he was a likeable S.O.B. However, I really liked his voice actor, Robert Bogue. Bogue did an excellent job by perfectly impersonating a douchebag like Steve... I mean Bogue made me feel Steve was a real annoying c*nt.

This may be an unpopular opinion but i'm not a fan of these mobile releases of games, it just doesn't feel right to me, it's just not how i feel these games were meant to be played, and ofcourse i could out right ignore them but i just feel these releases are just undermining there greatness, San Andreas was a technical marvel and seeing it on mobile is like for me destroying a legacy that the game held and putting it up with the likes of subway surfer and i'm not saying those are bad games, but it just doesn't feel right, just my thoughts on the matter of mobile ports.

-I had way more fun playing GTA IV mulitplayer than GTAO.

-Vice City remains the best 3D era GTA.

-Tenpenny is an overrated antagonist. Sonny, Billy, Dimitri and Pegorino are FAR better characters.

-Customising was the only thing I missed from San Andreas not being in GTA IV.

-I hope Liberty City gets another rendition sometime in the near future.

-I personally feel R* have NEVER intended to release single player DLC for GTA V and have been trolling their fans for 3 years..

I quite like the GTA Online Character Creation System.

That, coupled with a few Script Mods for Single Player use, makes them much better Protagonists than V's SP Protagonists.

  • Trevor's voice acting isn't that great.

VCS is the best 3D era game.

GTA Advance is a good game.

IV's missions didn't feel "repetitive".

I don't see the point of flying planes other than missions that require you to pilot a plane.

TLaD had a perfect storyline.

Personal vehicles in V wasn't a good idea.

  • GTA San Andreas is overrated.

I f*cking hate how Rockstar pay too much attention on luxury/sports cars.

GTA IV gameplay is underrated.

I hate Catalina and Karen/Michelle.

IV soundtrack > VC soundtrack

Dimitri is the best antagonist in the series.

I'd rather get GTA V on its 2011-early 2012 stage.

Tommy Vercetti is a very uninteresting & overrated character.

GTA V First Person is really great

San Andreas had a mostly terrible story

V had a better story than the 3D games.

GTA IV had the best Missions in the series, the best balance of grounded & varied missions.

Vice City is slightly overrated

San Andreas is extremely overrated

Liberty City Stories is my favourite game from the 3D era, it has the best characters & narrative

Toni is my favourite protagonist from the 3D era.

CJ Was a very average character

The Balled Of Gay Tony had a better story than the Lost & Dammed

Micheal Da Santa is a fascinating character

IV is the funniest Grand Theft Auto.

IV still remains the overall best Grand Theft Auto.

- Roman is the best character in the HD Era. Niko is extremely overrated. Roman is vastly superior in comparison.

- Trevor is better than Niko as a character. I found him to be very believable than Niko.

- Vice City is way overrated (popular word in this thread, haha), apart from the setting, the gameplay and the technical features are not really that impressive compared to GTAIII for example. GTAIII had a much, much better designed map for example.

- The complains about the green goo and and the military base missions in SA being too sci-fi, childish and/or 'unrealisic' are nothing but a big fat meme, they are kind of unique gameplay wise and I personally enjoyed them a lot.

- GTA Advance is actually a decent game, it filled me with nostalgia when I played it back then and for some reason it made me think that it was severely connected to the GTAIII plot even if it really wasnt (at least that much). It actually felt like a 3d era GTA to me.

- Luis Lopez is a good character, better than any of the V trio. It was very fresh to see a latino protagonist in GTA, and his story arch was quite interesting for me, the chemistry between him, Armando and Henrique was there and it felt like they were really friends since childhood. This leads me to the next point:

- TBoGT has actually a good story.

- Did somebody said yoga? wasnt that bad, it was refreshing to see some odd activity like Yoga in a GTA game, and every family related missions from Michael helped us to inmerse ourselves in their lifes (even though it was done quite poorly in several occasions).

- Like someone else already mentioned, Trevors voice acting wasnt really that great, it was not bad though, just ok. I prefered Michael's VO, and Dave's Norton being the best one in the game (his voice helped a lot too). Niko voice acting wasnt great either, the fake accent was noticable and considering how easy would be to hire some serbian voice actor in New York (or w/e their recording studio is) it was quite a missed oportunity.

- Not sure how unpopular but the story in GTAV is by far the worse in the series, only a handful of characters and events were moderately interesting, the rest is completely forgettable.

-Tenpenny is an overrated antagonist. Sonny, Billy, Dimitri and Pegorino are FAR better characters.

Yeah no, just no, no.

Dimitri is sh*tty, uninteresting and overrated to no end, Jimmy was a f*cking chump and Sonny only appeared like three times.

Tenpenny was a presence that was felt all the time, he was hilarious, badass and voiced by Samuel Motherf*cking L Jackson, that's a combo right there. Easily the best antagonist not only in gta but in overall videogames.

Talking about level of appreciation amongst antagonists, Bulgarin is a good antagonist, i said why in thousands of threads before.

Tommy Vercetti is a very uninteresting & overrated character.

Micheal Da Santa is a fascinating character
