-Three leaf clover is easy.

I have to say I agree. Personally I find missions like Pegorino's Pride harder to be honest.

This. I passed three leaf clover on my first attempt, but it took me four tries to beat Pegorino's pride when I played for the first time. It's one of those missions that kind of f*cks you both ways. If you're too slow, Jimmy will die before you reach him, but if you try to run past the enemies, chances are you'll get killed in the process. I use the roof glitch to save time and ammo in this mission.

A few more unpopular opinions:

-III had the worst song selection.

-The songs on Channel X are annoying.

-I don't care about being able to visit nightclubs.

-I wouldn't care if prostitutes and strippers were removed from the next GTA.

Im2akillerfish

- Jetpack is useless unless you spawn it with cheats.

- I personally liked V:s story.

- Cops in GTA V aren't that hard, they just shoot extremely well.

- I think the original 2 3D GTA games (GTA III and Vice city) are much better than San Andreas.

- Cheats in Liberty city stories are fun. (You can create GTA Online with them: All traffic is Chrome cars and Peds riot with weapons.)

- GTA Online is fun, even without Friends.

GTA VCS is the best GTA game to ever be conceived, better than I, II, III, VC, SA, LCS, VCS, AD, IV, TLAD, TBOGT, CTW, V...

Victor Vance is the most awesome protagonist of the series and can take down every other one (niko, trevor, cj, etc.)

GTA VCS is actually good

GTA V is a flop

GTA VC feels weird

Triathlons are not fun at all

The Flying schools in both SA and V are easy

GTA Online is boring.

Oh and of course...IMO.

I don't think your opinions on GTA V and Online are "unpopular". When it comes to this forum, you're in the majority!

HOW'S ANNIE?

- Multiple protagonists is the best way to tell a story in GTA, just poorly executed in V.

- LSRR > Every other GTA station

- The series needs more protagonists like Johnny K, and less meteralisitic and money hungry assholes (like every other GTA protagonist)

- Yusuf Amir was actually funny

- Dark and gloomy suites GTA better than blight and upbeat

- Gang wars don't need to be in ever GTA

- Gang wars in SA were terrible

- The series needs a 70's based installment

- I believe Salvatore had the "oh so invincible" CJ killed after the events of SA

- Victor Vance was actually pretty awsome

- The jetpack doesn't need to be in every game like some of you insist

- Channel X is better than Radio X

- Ending C, nor the other two, are canon. They're all equally as valid.

- gta needs to get more realistic

- gta v's story was too short, therefore eating, getting fat and gaining and losing muscle were not in the game

- maintaining fitness and health in more realistic way, makes the game more immersive and should be in the next GTA

- Mafia 2 speedometer and speed limits + fueling your vehicle should be in the next GTA

- there were not enough leisure activities in GTA V

- we need bowling to return as an activity in GTA Online and GTA VI

- girlfriends from SA and friends from IV were not annoying

-Both IV and SA are awesome.

-SA was one of the most scariest games I had played.

-Freefall was easy

-The Snowstorm was easy

-Three Leaf Clover was easy

-All racing missions in GTA are hard.

-I liked GTA IV's handling

-Roman Bellic is the best antagonist in the series

-GTA IV's phone calls were nowhere near annoying as some people say.

-IV's missions are not as repetitive as some people say.

-GTA IV has the best story in a video game.

-I liked the grittiness of Liberty City.

-Bohan is not as bad as people say it is.

-GTA's characters have always been better than the story itself.

-GTA IV is just as fun as the other GTA's.

-CJ is a better protagonist than Claude.

-Claude is the worst protagonist in the series.

I got banned previously from that thread with the same title xD some may recognize my username.
Anyway this one's only about GTA so I'm gonna be fine:
-Liberty City from IV is not New York-ish enough.

-Saints Row 2 is better than San Andreas and IV.

MythicalCreature

- Flying planes in GTA are downright pointless.

- It was perfectly fine that GTA IV had no planes.

- GTA VC is much better than SA when it comes to quality.

- GTA V and SA are extremely overrated.

- GTA IV and VC were the best video games of all time.

- GTA V was nothing but overkill on gameplay.

- Radio Stations should be replaced with User track and Indep. FM in every next GTA - Rockstar suck at making radio stations everyone likes.

- GTA V is the worst GTA till date.

Many people think if a car is fast, it's better than everything else in GTA. That is BS, it's annoying to see some people say, "Is it faster than X? No, so it sucks."

Sometimes a car has to be fast. Remember the tractor in SA? It took an age to drive up a single road with that ha ha.

The Odyssey

Pretty much every "hard" GTA SA mission was actually quite easy. I beat Freefall, Breaking The Bank and Air Raid on my first try. I beat Supply Lines on my second try. Most of the Flight School missions were easy. I actually found "Up, Up, And Away!" To be ye hardest mission and I'm surprised nobody else thinks this way.

I also think GTA IV was challenging at times.

GTA IV is the most boring and repetitive GTA I have ever played and even the story couldn't save it. Saints Row 2 was way better. No, I'm serious. Saints Row 2 had the building a gang empire aspect, some pretty good drama between the characters, more vehicles, more weapons, more clothing, sh*t, it was just an all around better game.

How's that for unpopular opinions?

I know right? That post is basically a brief summary of the general attitude towards GTA IV.

Having anything positive to say about it is unpopular from the first hand experience I've had.

I don't think that GTA IV is boring (just disapointing) but I agree with your overall post, if it was boring, the story wouldn't have save it (just as story couldn't save Mass Effect 2 from being boring or save Metal Gear Solid 4 from being a cash grab, despite popular belief).

Saints Row 2 was my personally Game of the Year, apart from graphics, physics and story, Saints Row 2 was a much better game than GTA IV in every aspect IMO. Playing Saints Row 2 now is depressing though, as it reminds me of how the great has fallen (that doesn't mean I've stopped playing though, I recently started a new playthrough).

Anyway, more unpopular opinions:

  • Saints Row 2 > GTA IV (already stated).
  • GTA IV had the worst wanted system in the series.
  • GTA V's cops were not too hard.
  • Supply Lines, is not the worst mission in GTA San Andreas, either Life's a Beach or Cesar Vialpando is.
  • I do not miss the import/export mission from GTA IV, I found them to be repetitive.
  • GTA Vice City Stories > GTA Liberty City Stories.
  • Planes would have not been useless in GTA IV, they are required to add incentive to go to the airport and you don't need a runway to land, be creative.

On the subject of SR2 I actually like it as much as I like GTA IV and probably more so after SRTT and SRIV being complete rubbish. I started a new save of SR2 the other day and I had a lot of fun playing it. It definitely has the upper hand on GTA IV in certain aspects such as customization, things to spend money on etc.

It's not hard to see why a lot of people prefer it over GTA IV really.

Hmmm nice bike

I didn't think GTA V's soundtrack was that bad, especially with the inclusion of this gem, one of the best songs in the game.

On the subject of soundtrack, while I don't hate this song, a lot of people seem to associate it with this game, and I think it would fit far better in a London setting, or even Liberty City. Not sunny LS. I always picture being in London again with this song.

Also, I never found Lazlow funny (I preferred Chatterbox Lazlow where he was just a normal radio host, now he's the butt of jokes and "everyone's favorite washed up personality" and he's annoying), and I don't find a lot of the radio and TV programs and ads very funny either, except the Alco-holla ad and "Bless Your Heart" on Blaine County Talk Radio. Everything else seems to be trying too hard with the humor and constant swearing and it just falls flat. It's all a far cry from VCPR's "Pressing Issues." They need new comedy writers.

I think even Saints Row had a better talk radio program than GTA IV and V. The Mike and David Show on KBOOM 108! It felt a lot more natural and less scripted, and it was actually quite funny at points. Good political satire, I could listen to it for ages if they did more.

That's the one thing Saints Row perfected over GTA with. And they did it in the first go. The first go.

But back on topic:

*I hate Lazlow. I f*cking love Maurice Chavez.

*I hate all the old characters showing up in GTA

And then they never did it again. Apparently, their excuse was that they were afraid too many people would switch on when a joke had already passed or was in the process of being told and they wouldn't get it. Just goes to show how illogical Volition is. You can tell they planned to bring it back with SR2, considering there's a logo already made for the station and an advertisement on a billboard for it. They had another talk station planned for SR1, hosted by two real-life talk show hosts in Chicago. I wonder how that would have been, and why it was cut. Not as funny as KBOOM perhaps? They had to have recorded some of it, considering the two hosts are still listed in the credits.

Actually I will agree on this point. Saints Row 2 has the upper hand on IV in some aspects, IV has the upper hand in others. If they hadn't gone down the terrible route they did with SR 3 and 4 than I think it could be a true competitor with GTA.

Which leads me to the next unpopular opinion (which isn't directly related to GTA but R* in general). When THQ went under R* should have purchased the Saints Row IP, diregarded the events of SR3 and placed both GTA and SR in the same universe with shared brands. But have GTA go down the serious route, and SR go down the quacky SA-style route.

I think Saints Row could have been a serious competitor to GTA as well, if they had kept up with what they had in SR2, I still love that game. Although if Rockstar had it, I would have figured they would have kept up with the SR3 and 4 style wackiness to keep the series really different from GTA, but your idea' isn't a bad one in itself either. One series meant for serious stories and the other kept over the top in a San Andreas fashion. Wasn't Take Two one of the businesses to visit Volition when they were for sale? If they weren't interested in just buying Volition, they were probably after Saints Row to give to either 2K Games or Rockstar.
