Unpopular Opinions Thread

Recommended Posts

LincolnClay

People need to remember that this thread is called unpopular OPINIONS. It's your way of seeing things, if someone doesn't agree with you, it's not the end of the world.

OT: While many like the realistic driving in GTA IV, I get very annoyed very easily with it. And don't get me started with the motorcycles...that spin out every five seconds.

GTA IV is a masterpiece, but the driving is one thing that I don't really like. But then again, it's better than V's handling.

At least you redeemed yourself with that statement :p...but I still prefer the classic 3D era driving that I'm used to...

I agree , the motorcycles felt like you had bars of soap as your wheels  But hey everyone has their own opinions.

OT: 3D Era driving > GTAV's (nowhere near perfect but certainly isn't a pain in the ass) > GTA4's.

Yeah. I don't enjoy riding bikes as much as I do driving cars in GTA IV.

Who even drives bikes in GTA.

Who drives bikes period? :p

Anyway I have to keep this going....

-GTA IV's method of inputting cheats with the phone is far better than the old and dated method of button mashing.

-GTA IV's cover system is good.

-Lester is the best character in GTA V.

-The 3D era GTAs feel dead as f*ck because you can't hang out with in game friends. I wish I could've hung out with The Truth, Woozie, Phil Cassidy etc and got to know them better outside the story.

-Over the top action missions lack substance. I prefer slower and methodical based missions where action is kept to a minimum.

-Health regeneration (whether it's partial or not) should NEVER be in a GTA game.

It's "unpopular" because people think it's annoying and that Niko doesn't respond fast enough.

I think it's good too.

Yeah, missions in 3D era are really spearated from normal game. In GTA SA some missions started with CJ talking over the phone doing business even though we've just walked into the marker.

Umm..... people who likes bikes? What sort of a question is that!?

Only for someone to shoot you and Niko end up putting away his phone. Button Mashing (which can be done ASAP if you know the cheat) > phone cheats. I do like both tho - wouldn't hurt if we have both.

So don't try and put them in when you're being fired on or take refuge? Always worked for me.;)

And the current gen and PC versions of GTA V did try to have both, but someone forgot to add the soul thing that makes the phone method superior in everyway and that's to SAVE the cheats without having to input them all the time thus its inclusion is pointless.

Why would you choose bike over a car in a GTA game? (Except TLAD)

Uh, maybe because I like bikes?

Seriously, what kind of a stupid question is that? Why people prefer IV over SA? Why people like TLaD? Why people fly planes in GTA games? Why people even play GTA at all? Ever wondered why?

Opinions.

I know, it's not that he doesn't respond its just that he'll cling to objects that you weren't intending to go to.

^ GTAV's Cover System do the same too, almost just as bad.

HOWEVER, what V makes IV's system better is that V's system is easier to the eye, simpler, responds a lot faster and it targets what the camera is looking at instead of where the character's looking at. No more f*cking around with, say, Niko to look where you wanna hide - just look at the spot you want to hide and you're good it go.

Our experience is the complete opposite.

I wish it retained the animations going into cover though. Niko would perform a slide or roll into cover like a boss.

I mean yeah at times it's "sticky" (The best way I can describe it), but for a first go at a proper cover system in a GTA game it done/does the job. I use the cover system in GTA IV the large majority of the time and always found it's more useful than it isn't.

I've never experienced a cover system in any game that hasn't placed me against a surface I wasn't intending at some point anyway.

Piggsy pls

I don't like the sliding into cover animations. They look unnatural IMO.

V's cover system is better than IV's but the whole system could use a lot of work.

Why not shuffle between both, while upgrading them in the same time?

OT: I spend more time stunting around in a bike (yeah, f*ck me for riding a bike in a GTA game :dozing:) than anything else. Probably that's the reason why I like GTAO - unlike GTAV, falling off your bike isn't a deathwish in Online. Well, it is, but its CERTAINLY better than GTAV.....

To me countryside is far more boring and uninteresting than a city on its own. I've never lived in a city in person as I've always been used to the country/small town lifestyle, but in a game it bores the sh*t out of me.

In the context of the GTA series it's one of the reasons I don't go out into the countryside in San Andreas or GTA V very often unless I need to. Driving/walking around looking at trees, hills and open plains is so monotonous. I take holidays in real life to go sight seeing. Not a GTA game.;)

I love GTAV's map - especially the Countryside - so much because of the many stunting "paths" that you can find. Even better than SA's. Ofc "realism" wise SA's whole map sh*ts on V's all the way from the top to the very bottom. The forest is downright CREEPY, Bone County actually feels like a desert. Also: San Francisco Fierro!

Oh, dear, where do I start?

Franklin is a huge wasted opportunity of a character.

Who is he? He's wishy-washy, he lacks drive, he kind of gets swept along by events and comes across as kind of spineless. In the run up to Grand Theft Auto V, I was really excited to learn more about him, and remember predicting that he would secretly prove to be the antagonist of the game. Of course, in two of the three endings, this was the case. But it was done in the worst way possible. Instead of a cold, ambitious opportunist using people and throwing them away, he dithers about EVERYTHING. I wanted an ending where he ruthlessly gunned down his allies without a hint of remorse.

We've not really had a character that coldly mercantile since Claude in Grand Theft Auto III, and it sure as sh*t wasn't Franklin.

You're not alone there. I always thought these were kind of stupid. I mean of course I'm not against vehicle based side missions, but only when they're crime related.

These though were just boring and tedious. Glad the HD era axed them.
