Did you do anything special to get your track noticed? How many plays did you have before it got verified? Was the verification out of the blue? Thanks.

I haven't been verified, but I think it's the number of plays and total number of jobs created that gets you noticed.

In the beginning they looked only at likes and because we all know that system is BS the tracks they verified were too.

Then they started looking for other ways with youtube channels and stuff. Sometimes crews they were familiar with got in...sometimes it was just luck. and it mostly still is. What you need is visibility...out of the millions of tracks made how do you get noticed? Well that is why I started the approved thread and it worked pretty well I think. Rockstar has consistently chosen at least one race from my thread on each round since I started it...including one of my own.

As far as any of the other stuff...one of the races that was verified a couple rounds back had literally 2 votes...one like and one dislike...when they picked it.

Honestly the best option I can come up with and this isn't just trying to get more nominations because we are already pretty busy...but the best way I can tell you under current circumstances is to get in my list or the one for PS3.

Less then 100 plays when it was verified, they used an old version that haven't been around for over a month (I can mail them links to revisions to have it updated though). The old version had much less, probably about 50-60 plays at the most. I have never advertised the track that got verified other then running lobbies with it ingame. I made a comment on a R* news post, but that was after the verified version was changed. Same goes for the Approved Races thread, it hadn't been approved yet before I made those changes. The comment I made was also in regards to a different race. I've made youtube videos of some of my races, but none of this one.

The only logical reason I see is that I posted a thread here in the forums a while back with all of my races in the so-called "Profession Series", where that race was on top of the list. I believe that is where it was picked from.

I also strive to make my posts as proper as possible, not complaining about other R* verified or saying anything about other races, in the actual post where I promote my races.

I believe, however, that Luap's advice is some of the best you can get. Get involved with your consoles Approved threads in this forum, and just really make an effort there. It's going to make you improve your creative skillset, teach you to keep promotional posts short, simple and objective. Straight to the point, it's going to give you an arena to get noticed, and something else to focus on rather then getting verified.

Note that none of the people I know that got verified have really been trying very hard to get noticed... They are creators, who enjoy sharing their content with the community, and create for the community. They don't create to get verified.

I think it's more the fact you have a story behind most of your races Fachuro they are Quirky and ofc the verified one is a very unique race.

Alot of people have stories behind their races though, and it's not like it's been a common factor in other verified jobs that the descriptions, titles, prop placements, etc, etc... have been well placed.

Doing things well, and proper, is of course always an advantage. Getting alot of plays and likes, is also an advantage. But neither is enough. I think peoples main problem is that they try to hard. There's nothing wrong with advertising your race, but you yourself shouldn't be the one telling everyone how fantastic it is. It's OK to be a little proud, but most people seem to think of themselves as gods compared to the rest of the GTA population. Don't go overboard with the advertising. Tell people what your job is, give them a few pointers on how to perform well, even tell them what you think makes your job fun. And don't say anything negative about anything else, it's basic advertising. You don't buy a brand who say "we're better then everyone else!" or "everyone else sucks!". Generally, arrogance is looked down on, and so is negativity. You want your advertisement to be positively charged, and you don't want to advertise a different job. That's why involving yourself in reviewing other stuff is so great, as you can pinpoint the things you have done well without comparing to someone who did it bad. You can pinpoint how the job is best played and what makes it enjoyable, and you learn to write reviews that are neither overly negative or overly positive.

Think about how you would react if someone advertised THEIR job to you, and think about what aspects makes it more enjoyable for you when you play other peoples jobs, and when you read their descriptions and advertisements. Try to learn from what they do well, and improve what they do wrong.

For example, I would never describe my job as "so much better then all this verified sh*t", you can hear me comment among friends and on forums that a verified job is sh*t, and I don't see how it would get verified, but I try to never compare it to my own creations. If I was to advertise my job, I would never claim to be the best at what I do, I would claim to be experienced. It's alot about choice of words, and what kind of vibe your message is sending. If you critique another job in your advertisement, you're basically doing two things. First off, you're advertising a different job, in the space that should be used to advertise yours. Secondly, you're giving the advertisement a negative charge. However, as it bears the name of YOUR job in the title, people will connect the negative charge to YOUR job. The job you critiqued will end up as more likely to be played then your own.

That's why I believe those who don't try as hard to impress Rockstar or the community, and mainly focus on making people enjoy their content, are more likely to get verified. I wouldn't really be surprised if you yourself get one soon, simply because you're actively involving yourself in the community, your main focus is to make it enjoyable for those who play your content, and you don't really seem to care THAT much about getting jobs verified.

I mean, it's cool and all getting a job verified, it's an amazing feeling to see such a ridiculous amount of people enjoy something I created, but the cool part isn't getting verified, the cool part is that people enjoy my content.

I think we all agree that JJJ wasn't verified for it's amazing gameplay or for being the "best job ever" for example. The content creator was new, and it was one of those early jobs that people thought was fun, because they hadn't tried doing such jumps before. And even though checkpoints and props are horrible, it was enjoyable for people at the time. As their standards for enjoyment change, so does Rockstars verification standards.

Oh, and it shouldn't be enjoyable just for you and people you know and can explain the race to, it should be enjoyable for most of the randoms who join your lobby aswell, 99.99% or more of those who have played The Academic now are randoms that I've never even encountered ingame, if they don't enjoy it, what's the point of being verified? I've always been able to play it with my friends, so then it wouldn't change much.

Sorry for the long post :p

I think that's pretty spot on. ( i read the whole thing) At first it was no question about popularity but as time has gone on they have got so much better at picking a good selection of popular unique and well crafted races.

The last batch is very showing of that.

A jumps and drifting esq race mixed with The Acedemic and eww you stepped in doody which are a little more serious but still fun and unique.

Trying to hard to get it verified means you are not really putting much effort into making the race better but trying to get numbers.

I would rather have 5 plays and a race i have tweaked 10 times over lots of plays of a race with 1 edit.

Focus on the race over getting verified.

I'd rather have 1000 plays and 1 edit, but only so long as the majority of people enjoyed it :p There's no reason to over-tweak it, you should tweak it whenever you have a solution to a problem in the track. But yea, I know that wasn't your point and I agree :p Your mentality should be that getting verified would be cool, but if you don't get verified that's cool too, aslong as you can bring joy to alot of people, or your close friends, depending on what your goal is ;-)

Getting your race approved here, means more to myself then verification, not that I would turn it down !!

You could also join Red Rum probably the most verified races per crew at this moment in time !!
