just stay on passive 24/7?

this is a real question by the way - what does not being on passive stop you doing anything that you shouldnt be doing anyway?(i.e, killing people, since you dont like to be killed)

im just wondering, if people hate being killed so much then why dont they stick on passive 24/7?

OP - I STAY on Passive Mode about 95% of the time.
I only turn it off when someone tries to ram me. I wait for them to drive off, turn off Passive Mode, and try to suicide bomb them once before I turn Passive Mode back on. That's just how I roll.

Because passive is just an easier way of getting smoked.

Also, i don't think anyone likes to get killed...but there's a difference between getting killed fairly & getting griefed. No one has a problem with getting killed if they f*cked up or deserved it, but I think everyone does have a problem with being the punch-line to someone else's fun unfairly.

Well there are still a number of ways that you can get killed even when you are in passive mode.

I don't really put on passive mode but when I am AFC (Away from Controller) I would just hide somewhere in the building away from being possibility of being killed.

Nobody likes getting killed (unless you're one of those weirdos that gets off to taking pain). But I still like to kill people.

Passive mode isn't fun.

Passive mode doesn't usually protect you.In fact a lot of the time it's like handcuffing yourself as you can't fight back.

Fail OP fail. Just about everyone dislikes being killed. (Except maybe the occasional masochist). So you want everyone to play in passive so nobody has to die? I never use passive cause I also like killing. It's part of the game and the people who are complaining about being killed are probably already in passive getting trolled by some jerk and have no way to fight back cause they in passive. Passive is the worst. You have to walk everywhere on ledges or else you're even easier prey

Anyone who complains about getting killed in a video game needs to grow the f*ck up.

Why does everyone who likes to treat Freeroam like a f*cking death match insist on trying to tell other people how they should play?

Because you can still get killed

Because passive mode does nothing for my car

Because sometimes I want to shoot my guns at cops instead

Because I keep hoping that I'm in a game with some decent GTA players who don't have the sh*t mentality that says they have to shoot everyone

Because passive mode is BROKEN

why passive mode? just go to invite only

I want to play with other people.

And don't bother with the copy/paste reply every time someone like you says this.

No, I don't think I should expect this just because I'm in a public game, and no, I don't think GTA is solely about killing other people.

I want to play with people, WITHOUT getting shot by them sometimes.

Play the game, because that's the point. Killing while staying alive.... jesus, I feel like John Madden over here.

Or just go invite only mode. It isn't hard.

Just go into invite only is not really an answer for anything. If I dont got a lot of friends left who still play GTAO then why should I not be allowed a multiplayer experience just due to R* not giving people additional options. Invite only is never a viable option for R* not putting appropriate countermeasures in the game to give different players different way to play online.

people who claim 'people who rage about getting killed should go invite only' have misunderstood why we question 'shoot-on-sight'ers and really should give 'friendly' playing style a go, you meet and have fun with strangers, rather than running around alone all the time. two or more crew members randomly killing me bothers me a lot less than a single person randomly doing so.

I don't mind getting killed and those that defended themselves when I kill them. However, I do mind them getting insanely upset when I retaliate after they killed me many times.

i love killing people, to be honest, i still see GTA as the kill everyone game that it was originally meant to be lol, the idea of not killing everything i can on GTA is foreign to me, and thats not coz im a jerk, its just because, well, its GTA, its only in this GTA that ive started hearing people talk that peaceful sh*t lol, we've gone through GTA after GTA where practically everything revolved around killing people, i dont get why people are still so butthurt that the NORMAL GTA mentality has passed into online mode too lol

i agree passive mode is faulty, but i think the argument that i want to play with 'others' and not be killed doesnt really answer why you cant stay in passive mode all the time, unless ur worried about getting run over/shot in your car - and this is partly why i said, what does playing on passive mode STOP you from doing, that you can do when your not in passive (apart from killing people, because if you cry about being killed then you shouldnt be killing others, otherwise your abit of a hypocritical double standards douche).

either way, passive mode is your safest bet, its not 100%, but its the closest youll get, and i think if people dont like being killed at random, then stay in passive mode, otherwise, what is to stop someone else from thinking your about to kill them, whenever i see a white dot coming for me, i get ready for a shootout, and thats not coz everyone is a troll who just wants to kill (like some people say), no no, its because its GTA, and most people that played GTA beforehand, got used to doing one thing, shooting other people, and im actually fine with that

the only time i use passive is it i need to get past someone that is causing havoc with a tank and i need to get to mine in peace

Bottom line is if you dont like getting killed, make a private game.

Odd, since the game is titled after a car-related felony, not murder.

You must've been one of those people who never finished (hell, even started) the actual missions.

I don't mind getting killed. I always manage to kill them back so it's no biggy for me. But when they bring out a tank and keep spawn killing, that's when passive comes best into play.

Totally off topic, but I honestly don't understand why people bring out tanks whenever they get killed a lot, or sometimes when they little gun fight is at a standstill they just come around and bring a mtoherf*cking tank. I understand this is GTA, but damn don't bring some World of Tanks sh*t into here.

semantics mate, after gta 2, lets be honest, GTA wasnt really factored around the idea of car theft, yeh, ill give it to you that 1/2 was really about cars and getting them to where they needed to be, but from gta 2, its not really so much about cars as it is completing missions that primarily involve killing people
