Tactics for tankers

Do you guys have any tactics for the Tank griefers besides passive? It really annoys me that R* patched up the sniping, when it was like damn near the only defense.

I use a P996 Lazer or Buzzard Attack Chopper. I win against tanks 50% of the time.

R* fixing passive mode so when tanks run into you its like running into mount chiliad should solve the problem. it would be a comeback against tank griefers if 10 people lined up and blocked the road. tanks would try running passives over and there tanks would flip. or what if passive reflected anyone driving in tanks and made it flip upside down.

Tank sniping was a glitch that got exploited so that got patched. The way Tanks can now blow up any PV, that you can thank to the entire community, because they had to exploit smashing cars underneath tanks to troll them over to badsport 'even if they didn't even shoot at anyone' Or even if the tank owner wasn't even inside his tank.

 

So thats another thing R* had to patch. If people would have behaved themselfs, tanks would get badsport for shooting up PV's and pay the bill.

 

And like LightningLoad411 said, Use a Laser. Instant win if you do not crash. Use the Cannon.

Use passive mode and go to a tight spot where his muzzle can't get you and jerk till he rages. He'll get pissed and eventually shoot you till he blows himself up.

Best thing is first thing before taking action is use off the radar and make sure they don't know where you are, then:

5+ stickies on a car and suicide drive it into the back of him.

Or call Lamar and use a mugger, if they make it to the tank they'll pull them out and you can shoot him then steal the tank if you want. Sometimes I'll call mercs first to distract them from the mugger.

Or find a climbable building and get on top, don't go near edge, wait for tank to take some damage from cops, etc until you think you can blow it up with a couple RPG rounds.

I hate that this had to happen because I was never a tank

griefer. I bought the game the day it came out, and I've only ever been in a tank 4 times. I don't see why they don't make it so if the tank runs you over, or you drive into it, its not the tankers fault, but if he shoots you, its theirs.

you know how long it takes to fly to fort zancudo grab a laser and fly back and then crash or get shot down. does the laser lock onto the tank or something?

I dont think you can lock Tanks, And most people would rather buy them then have to go steal them. I have one I think I have used once, But it was in a Full lobby of my crew and we were all back to back fighting off the cops. lol

No, you need to use the Cannon and drive towards the tank from the sky, shoot it up, 'fresh undamaged tank tankes 2 strikes' and Twanker goes into passive mode and runs off. Mission over. Also If you find yourself spawnkilled, go into passive mode and go to the job menu, join any quick race and exit. Now you have teleported away to the other side of LS.

Problem is, you do whatever to blow up the griefer's tank and he throws it in passive mode and calls in another one and it starts all over again. Last night was silly with this. Even if R* never bans tanks in Freemode - people would howl - maybe people should be held to calling in one Freemode tank every 24 hours (not GTA time, real time). This would help.

 

I'd still like to see Tank and No-Tank Freemode lobbies, but I'm not holding my breath.

Its more fun spawn killing idiotic griefers that are on foot. Pretty much 99% of the online players are douchebags anyway. I honestly think tanks are a good thing. A nice safe way to cruise around town thats flooded with griefers.

 

And you can always buy your own tank. Reaching level 70 won't take that long. And Jets are free even if you are a level 4.

Last time I checked you couldn't lock vehicles from Pegasus

Learn how to use the Jet, I used to scared as hell attacking a tank in the past with a Jet but ever since I observed that tanks have limited aim, I have been taking out tanks left and right, sometimes more than 2 tanks at a time without a single casualty. Its the best alternative to tank sniping.
