Selling your cars to other Players

do you think R* would allow this like an eBay or they wont because it will effect their cash card streak?

 

edit: if you were to sell a car to another player, you could only sell from minimum of 10$ to the half the maximum you bought the car for. e.g

adder is 1mill so you could only sell it maximum price of 500k to another player.

I always wanted some sort of feature like this. It could work.

I feel like they'd at least make it where you'd have to spend how much the car costs and all of the current upgrades. Plus the seller would probably end up getting like half of that if. I don't think R* wants people breaking even when selling vehicles/getting vehicles for discounted prices.

and its not like its harming R* profit since you can only sell the car for half the original price to someone.

ye I think so, but Vbay would of been great before they allowed you to sell your cars for that much, your probably right I sold my adder and it gave me 700k so it must be above 60%

For starters not being able to see/search for the car sellers name, and not being able to resell cars bought at auction would be a start.

Yea guys, let's not take a good feature from successful games because this is another game. Sure, this feature has been asked for repeatedly by the forums. Sure, it would be beneficial for the players. Sure, it could prove as a good legitimate alternative for when dupe glitches are fixed. Sure, everyone likes sharing. But this is GTA.

 

I think selling cars is an obvious step in the right track. Though some limits have to be put to prevent it from becoming a car giveaway. Maybe the minimum price being what LCS would currently give you if you sold it there. The seller would get more by selling it to players and the buyer would get it cheaper than upgrading it themselves while also being able to buy cars not on the websites and with upgrades that they don't have yet.

Not sure about the DLC but that's exactly why the stock market was shut down (I think they took it down when the LSC glitch got out of hand) and has stayed shut down ever since.

Actually, this fits into the whole GTA thing. You can steal cars and sell it, and as well you can mod them and etc. It wouldn't be like WoW or EVE if they did this. Infact, it would be a great feature.

Used Chradder 'Chromed Adder' for sale, sticky bombs still attached to the hood. Car is however fully modded Price: 800K.

 

Small note:

Has however lost its Insurance during duplication glitch. If stickybomb gets ignited, there will be no refund. Re-Insuring the car will only cost about 120K.

60% plus 50 or 60% for mods. A stock adder sells for $600k. Not a penny more or less.

I like it, but a couple major problems with the idea.

 

First, how many cars do you think will instantly go up for sale? I'm sure almost everyone that plays will be posting cars for sale then it will change the economy cause some players will do nothing but go out and search for specific cars that they can just put in their garage to sell (rare ones especially) if they put it on a website it would reach 100,000 pages fast and the game would just freeze some more when it tries to load.

 

Secondly, this would put Legendary Motorsport out of business. Who is going to buy a stock adder for 1mil when you can get a fully modded one for 800k? Them just change the paint, rims, exterior to your taste and its a whole bunch of money saved overall that will hurt cash card sales

 

Third it will take some of the incentive out of racing. Who needs to unlock turbo, engine upgrades, etc when you can just do some Rooftop Rumble and buy a car with all the bells and whistles.

 

And I could keep going. I like the idea but there are too many reasons why it won't happen to even entertain the thought.

maybe for the 1000 page thing freeze thing, they could do a spam filter, every person can only put up one car every day or every week. and for the mods, when they sell there car it should all go off or what ever level player buys it anything he hasn't unlock disappears from the car

i would love to see a lot full of the ugly combos people put on cars. if youre not leveled up enough to have all the unlocks then you have to make car payments. if you dont keep paying simeon sends lamar to steal it out of your garage. any player can then claim the car for themselves if they catch lamar before you do. i think that would be friggin funny as hell.

 

it wouldnt hurt racing at all. it would help it out when you dont have half the people joining your race just wanting to exchange wins.

Selling cars to other seems like a good idea when you want to unload a car or help out a friend, but it would get exploited somehow and made into a way to give away money again. I don't think it is needed. Money isn't hard to come by in this game. Just sell the car to LSC and do a few high-paying missions. Problem fixed plus more. I played all types of different missions today, did exports, sold a car every 45, truck hits, stores, and I made over 200K. I make money faster in this game than I ever did in a Sims game.

I wonder if the stock market will ever come back out. I probably won't use it, but I wonder what will happen when players go broke and the glitching that will arise from that. I would do the casino if one came to be, but I would bet the minimum amount. I'm cheap even with fake money. I would even do a mission beforehand that I view as spending cash.
