Michael was the strongest character, but I think R* took a weaker approach with how they chose to use him. GTA V was his game, but they felt the need to balance things, so they added two more protagonists and they all ended up being weak IMO. We didn't need Trevor, and especially not the Trevor R* gave us. There's no balance to him, because R* balanced all three as if they were one protagonist. Why does Trevor need to be the polar opposite to Michael in every conceivable way? And because certain aspects were reserved for Michael and Trevor's personality, Franklin was left with almost nothing. This is why Michael may be shopping with the wife, while Trevor is wearing a dress in a dumpster, and Franklin is probably just ironing clothes. He has nothing, but at least he has Chop... Franklin kicks ass and is at least a nice guy and Michaels pretty cool, with a family and a movie career to get back to. Trevor's gonna die anyways, either from drugs, gas inhalation, his mental stability, his rampages, and all of that. Trevor would die first in real life. It's pretty clear that he was the last character made and just thrown in there to be there for 3 protags Erm, this is almost certainly incorrect. Both beta versions of Franklin and Michael were clearly visible in the very first trailer. Trevor in contrast didn't appear until the second trailer. Personally I was happy with ending C. From purely "gameplay/personal preference of characters" point of view (the same point of view that made me pick Revenge in IV, even though I consider Deal to be the better fitting ending in hindsight), I'd let Franklin die. He's just my least favorite of the three and least compelling. Now, whether I would consider it to be a good and fitting ending, that would depend on its execution. Johan Posted May 15, 2014 Share Posted May 15, 2014 Probably Trevor, I enjoyed all of them but Franklin has been my favorite since he was first shown in trailer 1.. plus all the speculations on the forums after that leading up to release made me like him more, even if his popularity decreased once everyone got their hands on the game. Trevor was always a maniac, and it seemed right to actually have him killed. I was already too close to Michael to even consider him being an option. He set up his crew aiming to get his best friend killed in the process just so he could get out of the life he chose. For what? A ex stripper of a wife and kids that probably aren't his. Trevor is by far and away the deepest character in the game. He is not just the maniac your guys think he is. He holds women in very high regard. And he cares more about Tracey than michael does. And he cares about his friendship with Michael so much but he just tries to hide it. Michael is trevors family. Well to Trevor anyway. cp1dell Posted May 16, 2014 Share Posted May 16, 2014 You probably never had characters hand out with Michael, or played as Michael and hung out with his friends and family, and most likely you probably initiated the least amount of missions as Michael. The game gives Michael a lot of backstory, and gives you an idea of what things were like for him before he arrived in Los Santos, and why he is the way he is. Bury the Hatchet comes to mind, where there's a sort of "voice-over flashback sequence" when you start that mission as Michael instead of Trevor. It gives you some insight to what him and his family were going through before he screwed over Brad and Trevor. In my opinion it was justified. Personally I was happy with ending C. @ Masterfocker I agree with Jimbatron, he's definitely right. Franklin was featured in GTA V's trailers right from the start. There was no way that Franklin was thrown in at the last moment just to make up 3 protags. I'm surprised you even said that. You of all people would have been following the game up to release to know that Franklin was there from day one. I'd be interested in seeing Official General's evidence that Trevor was just "thrown in". In fact, when you look at the game, the only protag who appears to have been "thrown in" was that of Franklin.
