Most people wanna kill Franklin? Wow, that's racist.

He's just a terrible character. It's pretty clear that he was the last character made and just thrown in there to be there for 3 protags

Franklin was clearly undeveloped and under-utilized, he hardly featured as an important character for many parts of the story. To say he was " a terrible character" is a bit too much, when considering there was not much to him in the first place. I fail to see how you can find him "so terrible", there was not much find about him in general. But it's your opinion, I can't change that.

All I can say is, as much I think Franklin is bland and lacking in character depth, he was better than that despicable idiot Trevor, that's for sure.

I voted for Michael because he's already been a traitor. A family doesn't make up for it. Hitler has had a family, too, but did that make him a good person? I am aware that this comparison is way too exaggerated but I only wanted to point out that a family doesn't "protect" someone from his bad/evil deeds.

You just cannot trust that guy

Franklin is quite easy to manipulate so he wouldn't be that dangerous for the others

Trevor has always been a good friend and helped those who he likes.

That's my opinion.

I agree with what was said above. But Trevor wasn't a good friend to Wade nor Ron.

Yes, Trevor helps those who he likes but that doesn't exempt him from being completely crazy.

Geralt of Rivia

He's a terrible character because he was underdeveloped and underutilized. He had lots of potential, but never realized any of it.

That's why I think he was terrible. He just wasn't used right.

Well, Wade is just an idiot. Nobody can argue about that :D And Ron f*cks up very often, this is definitely bad for TPI ;)

Michael. He drove me nuts throughout the game with his incessant whining!! He would have been 1000x more likable if R* smartened and toughened him up a bit. It's kind of sad Trevor has a better sense of loyalty than he does and he's about 10,000x smarter too. Franklin was meh but at least he wasn't too annoying. Franklin was way underdeveloped.

(I chose C though so that all characters and resources remained available plus it was fun taking out everyone else. Michael and Franklin are good for interacting with peds because they are friendly but I usually play as Trevor. While I enjoy Trevor's goofy clothing, it would have been nice to have Michael's beach and hiking stuff, and Franklin's baggier jeans and dress shirts. Clothing and ped friendliness is literally the only reason I sometimes play as F or M.)

as much I think Franklin is bland and lacking in character depth, he was better than that despicable idiot Trevor,

You mean the "idiot" who schooled Franklin and Lamar on how not to get ripped off in a drug deal? You mean the "idiot" who was once a military pilot? Look, we get that you hate Trevor so much because he mocked all that "gangsta" stuff you have strong affections for, but at least try to make sense with your tiresome ramblings.

As for this thread: as rushed as it felt, I was fairly happy with option C. It was fun to play and full of action. But if I had to go for an alternative, I'd probably have to agree with a lot of people here and choose Franklin. I actually liked the guy more than I thought I would- he wasn't quite as whiney as I'd originally anticipated after watching the trailers- but he was just so plain and generic, and I can't help feeling he was thrown in to keep the SA kids quiet, which probably cost dev time that could've been used to give us a more in-depth narrative between Michael and Trevor. So for that reason alone, I'd have to put him down. But again, I was happy with option C, so this really means squat.

Franklin.

If R* didn't gave him that big ass house in Vinewood and kept him a "Gangsta" then i might choose Trevor.

But F became useless and no fun at all.

You previously criticized me for that, saying that there was much better missions than that, like that FIB and government bull. Now you quote it to counter my point about Trevor ? GTFO.

* Trevor was once a military pilot ? Oh really ? Nice to know, but I'm still not impressed or in awe if him, sorry, still hate him.

* Trevor mocking the gangsta culture is nothing to do with why I hate him. Even if he did, it's just a game, why would that bother me enough to hate him ? I don't know how you think, but right now it seems very strange and stupid . Anyway, Trevor gets killed by a gangsta so for all his mocking of gangsta culture, it's the gangsta that had the last laugh. How ya like that now ? Lool

Trevor without shadow or a doubt. I liked him at the beginning of the game (even after Johnny's scene), but further in the game he became so annoying and inconsistent that I was only waiting to kill him. And in my first gameplay I did without hesitation. The only reason to keep him around is the gameplay and the fact that none of the endings make any sense at all.

I would probably kill Michael, cuz of his family always getting in trouble... specially his kids...

Well, it would be like a Goodfellas type of situation, where Tommy died, and Henry Hill and Jimmy lived, (you'll know what I mean if you watched Goodfellas.)

But in topic, I would kill of Franklin. I don't have any reason why, I just would want him dead.

how did an Nazi who killed many innocent people in WWII come into a poll with fictional video game characters..?

Seriously, why does everyone hate Franklin? His special is the only useful one and he's more GTA-Protagonist type material then Michael or Trevor. I guess if it really came down to it, I would kill Michael. Trevor is just badass and Franklin's special is so useful I would never want to get rid of it.

Trevor.

The more I played the story line as him, the more I hated his weirdness, his 'psycho' character took a beating. Crying like a little girl when he had to return Patricia to Martin was not a tender or emotional moment, it was just pathetic.

Plus moments like running out of Vanilla Unicorn in nothing but his pants or waking up in a dress on Mount Gordo...witty the first time, but seriously annoying thereafter.

Err...what? I was simply refuting your claim that the character of Trevor was that of an "idiot". But thanks for telling me to "GTFO"...good to see your pleasant demeanour hasn't lost its charm.

Doesn't really bother me. Like you said, it's just a game, which is why I don't rant and rave on this internet board about the character of said game 43 times a day. When you going to jump aboard?

I'll certainly give you that. Frank's special ability was pretty well done, and was great for evading the cops. I guess I just think Michael and Trevor have more interesting things to do once you finish the game - like the S & F missions if you haven't finished them at that point. Plus, Trevor's rampages in the 'hood were good fun!

Michael, even though he's my favorite. It just makes the most narrative sense; Franklin betrays Michael to survive, just as Michael betrayed Trevor. Also, Devon is more able to help Franklin go where he wants in the criminal world.

There was no fourth option... "All of them"

I'd have added a scene where a Merryweather agent calls Chop and activates him as a sleeper agent... then playing as Chop, you have to hunt down and kill all three of the main protaginists.

The reward for completing the mission would be that you get to play the rest of the game as Chop... and you would receive the jetpack (customized for Chop)...

This would have addressed the complaint that Chop was underutilized as well as solved the Chiliad Mystery.

Was there any point in commenting then?

HOW'S ANNIE?

Michael. He's a whiny little bitch. Franklin is just too cool, and Trevor is, well, Trevor. I always have to have Trevor.

So let me get this right. According to the fanbase if there's a character who's actually got depth to them then they're nothing but a whiney little bitch?

Well, if Rockstar continues to listen to this side of the fanbase then I guess we're going to have protagonists like Trevor each game, and a whole lot less Niko/Johnny/Michael type protagonists.

Why list Franklin OP? If there was no C ending it would just be A and B. And I gotta give credit to you, this is a pretty f*cking interesting question.

Honestly, I'd probably get rid of Trevor. With the trailers, the game's story, and the amount of available missions compared to the other two, and that rumor that Rockstar came up with Michael first - I always saw Michael as the main protagonist. I'd never want to get rid of him.

@Niko Vercetti 112

Seems to be that way. People still say the same sh*t about Niko - and continue to exaggerate the idea that he "whined" and "didn't like killing people," and whatever other poor excuse they come up with.

I'd kill Trevor. (Which I did after my first playthrough)

Like I said I did kill Trevor the first time. However on my second playthrough he didn't seem to annoy me as much as I remembered so I was happy to choose option C that time. However if it was a choice between the three it would still be Trevor as I have always like him the least out of the three.

As the agents say near the end of the game, everyone but Trevor can be dealt with peacefully.

Why does everyone want Trevor dead???? He is the one that was the most loyal to everyone. And please, don't even get me started that someone wanted to kill Trevor because of the Johnny situation.. If so, please f*ck off. Say your last goodbyes to Johnny , his brain is at the end of Trevors boot.

Seriously, while I commend Trevor's loyalty to Michael, imposing himself on Michael's pictured life like he did was only ever going to get him killed.

I don't see why Michael would keep Franklin around after using him to do his dirty work either. Imagine if Michael had of turned on Franklin at the end of option A and you were left in a pool of blood by the man supposed to be your mentor?

Killing them both doesn't seem out of character for Michael at all. And he's my favorite of the three.

Nah I just really don't like him man. In almost every way possible, and it's not really even to do with Johnny. I've explained many times why I hate him.

Well, on my first play through I killed Trevor so I'd kill him if I had no option C. Michael/Franklin > Trevor.

Before the game launched I was most excited to play as him but as I played the game I really didn't like him. I don't know why.

Anyway, yeah, I killed him. But I decided I'd rather have the 3 character's to play between post-game. As much as I don't like Trevor it just didn't feel right to not have him as a playable character anymore.
